    My Gf is 5’5 slim build and conceals a gen 5 just fine and she appreciates the comfortability holding the gun opposed to a sig365 micro or any gun of that sizing. Glock 19 Gen 5 is also not considered a full size gun but a Compact as it is smaller then the Glock 17. But again best thing to do is go to your nearest range with rentals and have at it

    I usually carry a 1911 5” Government Slide in an outside the waist band holster. It is heavy but it is slim for a full pistol. I am 62 and have COPD but I am 6’1” and 220 so I am not small. I wear a “Columbia” fishing shirt untucked or an xl printed T-shirt as I am retired. I don’t have a printing problem with my EDC and clothing choice. I dress to carry my gun of choice. I carry daily if I am leaving the house. I shoot the 1911 pistol so much better than any other gun period. This is because of an excellent trigger and great sights. I carry an extra magazine since my pistol holds only 8+1. The main reason is that I have carried one and practiced with one for many, many years. I even sweep the safety off on any other pistol even if it doesn’t have one! Short version, I can hit my target with a 1911 and I am confident with the .45ACP caliber above any other pistol that I have ever tried. If I carry a backup it is a S&W 638 J Frame. Same reason, I can shot it at close range because I am experienced using it. It is my choice if I have to dress up. Peace be with you all 🙏

    The fat baby Glock G26 any Gen. Although it’s a bit thick for the times, it can use any Glock double stack 9MM mag up to 33rds making it a great all around gun especially at the range with reloading. Also plenty of aftermarket support and the grip length is on par with the G43 making it highly concealable. I did what u did and have gone through a crap ton of guns and holsters. I started with a G26 Gen 3 and loved it but did the dumbest thing ever and sold it. Then went to others and have come full circle and just got a 26 Gen5. It’s the best sweet shooter with great capacity and conceal ability. IMHO. After all that I would still say hot a range and shoot different guns and weigh your options between weight, accuracy, ease of shooting and comfort. Thanks for a great video.🇺🇸

      Carried a Glock 19 for awhile and I can tell you there’s a huge difference between the weight and size of the smaller firearms shown here. Not sure why you say there’s minimal differences when they less that half the weight loaded.

    • @emtfirebb
      @emtfirebb 2 роки тому +4

      @@NewIdeas226 LOL I have a shield plus. I would rather carry my G19. Why? If you carry every single day you will get used to carrying anything....no matter the weight. I have been deployed several times and when you carry a rifle every single place you go, when you sleep with it, eat with it and even take a shit with it, believe me you don't even notice the weight or size. It's the same with a concealed carry pistol. If you carry it all the time, even at home, you will see that none of the things people complain about usually matter as much. Each to their own but I believe people make excuses when something isn't just right for them in the beginning. I carry my G19 everywhere from the time I get up in the morning until the time I go to bed. It was slightly annoying at first but now I don't even notice it. Most people won't see things my way but then again most people will complain at the smallest inconvenience. The best concealed carry is one you will carry ALL the time. Just my personal opinion.

    If I were looking to replace my current EDC (Glock 45 MOS) I would probably go back to the 43x because of the shield arms S15 magazines. Plus they now make the 43x MOS ready to accept a micro reflex (shield RMS, Romeo0, RMR-cc). I know a LOT of people who make their decisions about their edc based on bad information (catering to someone elses needs, rumors/misinformation) and biases. People still believe, for whatever reason, that the smallest gun with the largest cartridge is what you want for edc. Those are the same people who tend to buy their gun and either stick it someone without ever shooting it OR they shoot it once at the range and hate the way it handles. Cartridge doesnt matter, size is overemphasized, and practice is everything.

      I know this is like 8 months late, I hope they have looked into this though. The 43x with SA s15 mags, is a solid option, better than 90% of what they suggested and far better than some of the options I've seen people suggest in the comments. I mean they brought a baretta to the table but not one of the top 3 carry guns in 2021.

  • @JacksonWalter735
    @JacksonWalter735 2 роки тому +18

    The Glock 43x and Shield Plus are my two favorites for carry. I tried the tiny single stacks as well as the Hellcat and P365, but those grips are way too tiny for my hands to shoot comfortably. Even with extended mags that lets you get a full grip, the length from front to back is too small (I even tried hogue grips with the P365). The grips on the Glock 43x and Shield Plus fill out my hands much better while still being tiny/light for EDC.
    The down side for both would be the sights since neither of the base model comes with night sights. You could get the night sights model Glock 43x or optics ready Shield Plus that comes with night sights (or just install night sights yourself), but it still sucks to do when the Hellcat and P365 comes with night sights by default.

    • @nexus1g
      @nexus1g 2 роки тому +1

      The 43X is one of the best EDC pistol for an average sized guy. Great grip length (pinky doesn't hang off); thickness is modest; it has a great balance in its barrel length. And, if your state allows, you can get after-market, 15-round mags for it that aren't extended beyond the grip.

    With modern firearms, you can find a small pistol that has at least 10 rounds or more. So it's not like it use to be, where you have to sacrifice capacity for comfort and ease of concealment. No matter who you are, there is a pistol that will have what you're looking for. Many of the smaller sub-compact pistols have the same capacity of their larger counterparts.

First was a full-size 2.0, was fantastic, and I was standing around all day with fairly loose clothing, partially permitted to remove all traces of printing while on company property. When I changed to driving, I went with a shield, not as comfortable firing, but of course being able to sit for extended periods and more stringent carry policy, it is phenomenal. I have large hands, and cannot tolerate any firearm with a grip smaller than my hand. Looked at beretta on the web, couldn’t find in store, Glock too square. Finally the rest of the gear will be in the ruck sack/bug out bag. * H&K P30SK
    * H&K VP9SK
    * Taurus G3c
    * SIG P320 X-Compact
    * SIG P365
    * Smith & Wesson S&K 2.0
    * Springfield Hellcat
    * Walther PPQ SC
    Some others that I might consider are:
    * Beretta APX Centurion
    * CZ P07
    * Shadow Systems MR920
    You may have noticed that a Glock was not in my lists. Glock makes a reliable firearm but the thing that I dislike about them is that there's no external safety and I would not feel comfortable carrying one. It's just something that I feel strongly about so please no hate. 0:-)

Find someone you know who carries appendix and have them demonstrate for you, or just try their rig and see if it works for you. I carry a Gen 5 Glock 19 daily, appendix carry, of course. I use a Tier 1 Axis Elite that let's me also hold a spare mag in the appendix position. I started carrying with a Shield so it was a big change when I moved to the 19 but I don't regret it. Once you get used to it, it's no problem at all. It is MUCH easier to conceal a bigger gun in the appendix position. Honestly, I don't think I could carry the 19 in any other position. The bigger the gun, the easier it is to shoot! Having a high quality holster is one of the most important aspects of concealed carry, especially when you're trying to conceal a bigger gun. I recommend Tier 1 over any other company, for sure.

      I got the xds 3.3 9mm as my first gun for carry at the start of the riots. Wasn't my first choice but at that time I was lucky to find anything and after standing in line for 3 hours I wasn't about to leave the store without buying something lol

      Great choice! Although I would recommend looking into the P365X for EDC. It's the exact same but with a shorter barrel, easier to conceal. Stay safe!

      I got a p365 XL as well. Shoots so nice, good capacity, light and slim, perfect to carry. My beretta m92 is decent for open carrying, but you know how a lot of people react negatively to open carrying, especially cops.

      @@Nick-oi8lc I work in a smith shop and I see way more Taurus through the door than I see Glock. The polymer guide rod in Glock is the exception to the rule because those Austrians tapped into some magic bullshit that allows them to do things like that and still make arguably the most robust handgun platform. I see a ton of Tauruses that misfeed, FTE, light primer strikes, and just feed issues in general. The difference in quality is much more than the difference in price at that point. I don’t even like Glocks, but there’s a reason why they’re so prolific in the jobs where people rely on their firearms to work to save their lives.

    M&P Shield 9mm w/TLR6 with Mag-guts magazine +2 kit is 9 rounds in the factory 7 round mags plus 1 in the pipe = 10 rounds for about 1/4 inch to the grip and that is just perfect to make for a full grip for me... Don't be a slave only capacity only! I have 2 Tulster holsters 1 left 1 right for concealed or open/concealed carry IWB or OWB... Also carrying 2 shields isn't much more than trouble than carrying 2 extra mags in a carrier and gives many tactical advantages as I see it. If one arm/hand is injured or trapped I still have 1 available and can transfer hand if a malfunction or even give 1 to a trusted friend/partner if needed.

    I can't imagine carrying anything other than a P365XL. My duty gun was a G23, and I'll occasionally carry it in the winter, or if I'm taking a hike and know i won't be sitting much, but for every day, I can't imagine carrying anything other than the Sig. I bought Shield 9's for my daughter, daughter in-law and almost daughter in law, but that was before the Hellcat and P365 were introduced. I haven't shot with the daughter in-law, but the other two definitely prefer the Sig over their Shields.

      @@TheRealZJE313 It's not just the extra weight, it's the extra size. It's the great difficulty in really concealing a full size firearm, it's the discomfort of getting in and out of cars, of sitting for long periods with a large handgun in an IWB holster (I've done it). I know 1911's are more accurate than most other pistols, but making dime sized groups at 50 feet has little to do with personal defense. I can shoot quickly and put several shots. in a small area with my P365XL. I can also carry it all day and not know its there. Nobody can do that with a 1911.
