My challenge to many of these people (of all color participating in this CHOP crap), is find a mirror and find within your heart to say to yourself, "I need to better myself." Next step is fill out a job application.
And it begins: THIS, this is what it looks like when a benign demonstration starts to turn. This is a power play 100% This is the speaker feeding his ego and seeing how much control he has over this crowd. First it's "take a knee," then it's "give $10 to a black person, I see all your faces and I'll remember," (that isn't menacing at all). This will escalate, because it doesn't matter if it's Seattle in 2020, Judea in 67CE, or Stalingrad in the 1940s it always starts with solidarity but as more time goes by, the more groups come in and start to think that their group should be the one that's calling the shots. Even if it isn't this gentleman. Even if his intentions are completely pure, he's not the only one in there. I'm totally sympathetic with the protesters and their aims, but I am not sympathetic with what's going on here. And to those that are reading this and will undoubtedly try to assign some duplicitous intent in what I'm saying, I want to make one last point: When you're watching this, do you not see how counterproductive this is to everything that the people are on the streets trying to accomplish? Right now the strength of this whole movement is in the broad solidarity and support among the majority of Americans. It's crossing demographics that nothing before on it's best day could even dream of. Now think of what happens to that support if the next video, instead of asking random white people to hand over $10 (which I'm sure was the amount he decided was enough to see if they would listen to him, but not too much in case there was pushback from either the whites in the crowd or other black protesters; $10 is small enough to say "I'm just kidding" if it doesn't fly), next it's $100? Or maybe it's only $15-20, but instead of just being a "sign that you're really serious" (which I'm sure there may be a few that aren't, but I can't imagine that many leaving their homes if they weren't) but this time it's to the residents that live there, for a "tax" (in case you forgot that there are families that live there and are the ones who are stuck in the middle regardless of whether they want to or not, who are the main reason that the mayor's words and inaction I find so galling and indefensible). The longer this goes, and more and more the ones in there who are calling the shots start to feel like they have the right to make demands like this; the more and more support you're going to see leaving. And God forbid when other groups are in there, groups that have different goals and different tactics that start to question the effectiveness of the current leaders in there start asking "what the hell is having public gardens and finger painting booths going to do to get us what we want!?" You're going to have infighting for control. Once that begins (and it ALWAYS does) you start running the risk that something really bad is going to happen. All you need is one child to get killed, it doesn't even have to be as a result of anything relating to the demonstration itself. It could be just a normal accident, but suddenly EMTs can't get in there, or a couple police cars show up for no other reason but to attend to the injured kid, but no one there knows that and tempers flair, bricks are thrown, whatever the reason, help doesn't get there in time and that kid dies. It won't matter what really happened. It won't matter if there was nothing that could have been done: you'll have Donald Trump on TV beating his chest saying "SEE!! you SEE?! I told them that this was going to happen! But mayor *"whatever infantile name he makes up for her" thought this was a great idea, you see what happens when... (again; whatever completely ridiculous story he concocts)" What will happen is that AT BEST you'll start to see support fades, but more likely you'll see the pendulum swing the other way, and the cries for justice and reform become LAW and ORDER. And when that isn't bad enough, suddenly the hospitals start to fill because there IS STILL a pandemic happening (of which I find the fact that it seems to have become relegated to page 4 in the newspapers to be complete journalistic malpractice, not to mention the absolute hypocrisy of the medical community that just a few weeks ago were saying that even starting to reopen the states was the worst possible move, but now are signing these statements saying that this whole protest moment is a valid enough reason to forget that. GOOD JOB people: it's hard enough convincing the 40% true believers of Trump that the Covid 19 isn't a "left-wing Democratic hoax, thought up to hurt Trump's re-election," now you're just convincing them that he was right. What the hell is wrong with you?!? You believe in this movement, great, say that. But don't suddenly do a complete 180: first saying that there's no reason good enough to risk a further spread, now you're saying "well, nothing good enough but THIS."

I have to admit it tickles me pink to know that the class-action lawsuits are already being filed against the mayor of this city, her reckless and dangerous stupidity should be a case example in schools and the rest of time on what not to do when something like this happens. I can't remember if it's Seattle or Minneapolis when they stormed into the city hall and they were able to get in because one of the city council members open the door for them knowing exactly what was going to happen, whoever that was deserves to be spending the rest of their lives in a courtroom as well. How an elected mayor can pretty much offer up a large swath of the city and all the residents and business owners in it up in some modern fever-dream version of a ritualistic sacrifice, and then to not only not see the mistake, but to celebrate their idiocy is maddening. 30,000 people between residents and business owners... Man. I always found people who seem to lose their minds when, for instance: George W was re-elected, then later Obama, and there were all of these people saying that the sky was falling and that they were moving to Canada to be, at best overly dramatic. The ones that got to me the most were the celebrities like Alec Baldwin who promised to move to Canada, and then didn't, to be the absolute worst. NEWSFLASH: if you say you're going to move out of the country because someone you don't likeb is elected, and you ACTUALLY have the money and resources to be able to do it: then you are so insulated from even the worst predictions of what that new president or senator may do, that you have nothing to worry about, and your public proclamations are little more than a way to either grab more attention, or to attach yourself to some issue that gives the illusion that there's more to you than playing acting roles (or in Baldwin's case, do an admittedly decent Donald Trump impression, and get drunk and rage on your wife's, ex-wife, ex-girlfriend and daughters voicemail). The really sad part is that cops absolutely DO treat blacks differently than whites (not all police, probably not even most, but a large section of them), but focusing police reform strictly on racial lines will most likely NOT result in the type of changes that people want. I know this isn't popular, but I can tell you that there are MANY cops who have histories for excessive force that will gladly beat the living shit out of a white guy just as quickly as they will a black guy. I believe that if someone could snap their fingers and make it so no black person who was killed by a cop based solely on racism, I don't think the numbers would drop enough to make too much of a difference. There's no doubt that a black guys odds of being beaten up by a cop for no good reason, it's in the numbers. And while 2X as many white people are killed by police that blacks, blacks make up only 13% of the population so it's still disproportionately high. unfortunately I think that continuing to focus on reform based on anecdotal events like the things that have happened in the last few weeks will result in the same ineffectual changes that happened after mass shootings, because like mass shootings seeing video of an individual being beaten or killed by a cop is so egregious to the normal person's mindset, that it causes people to start looking at things with blinders on and focusing on just those. Whereas if they approached it with reason, looking at the actual numbers and interpreting it, I think that they would find that these incidents are really a symptom of a greater issue, namely that too many people who have no business being given a badge and gun join police forces, and too many police forces their training stops pretty much when they get out of the academy if they are required to go to an academy at all. I don't see how reducing Police department funding is going to improve that in any way if anything it's just going to make it worse. however I believe that the first issue, that too many people who shouldn't be cops are cops is the major problem. I've heard many people promote an idea that when trying to figure out who is right to join the police force, get the first red flag is if they actually come there looking to become a police officer. sure there are some people who it's in their family, their fathers grandfather's uncles are all the police force and that's one thing. but when you think about it the job of a police officer is so kind of odd compared to what everybody else does, you're giving me authority to basically be an agent of the government whether it's local state federal whatever, and enforce the rules. It's such a specific responsibility and can very easily be abused just by The authority you're afford it, you'd have to wonder why someone would want to do it.
This is by far, in my ENTIRE time using youtube (so, basically from it's very inception in the mid-late 2000's) the single most sensible comment I have EVER read. Fact that my immediate assumption was that I was getting blasted speaks to your assessment. As I see it, the biggest culprit as to why we're in this time period when it seems like it's the sequel to "the cold war" but the Character of the USSR has been replaced with one half of citizens vs the other half (doesn't matter which) is that the people have an oversized level of influence; elected, in the media, the people who run corporations of whom can have a major impact on everyone's lives depending on what course of action they take, well they all seem to be reacting to things that are happening on a completely emotional level. It's what you "feel," not what you"know, or could find out if you thought it was important enough." The Minneapolis city council voted to defund the police department, with enough votes that now it can't even be vetoed, literally a day or 2 after Floyd was killed! They took action and made a decision based completely on their emotions. No one can tell me that the impact and ramifications were discussed and debated; and here we are. I hear people defending the president and some of the decisions me makes and things he says "by instinct." No he doesn't, that's not instinct, it's "impulse." Impulse control or the lack they reason you have to be 35 or older to be President, because teenager, and twenty somethings still haven't developed the part of the brain that regulates impulsivity yet. And we sell to have A population of people who are living and making life altering decisions, both for themselves or in the case of the people who posses power or influence, based solely on emotions. I'm a sucker for a good argument and while it's not often,I have been known to change my mind on something that I would have thought impossible to change because either they added some bit of information that I hadn't been aware of, or (and this is less common) they were able to present an argument in a way that was so good it actually swayed me. I may be completely wrong here. It's happened plenty of times before and will definitely happen again, but these things seem like they're just self-evident. "Dont make hasty or rash (they may be the same thing but I'm writing on a phone and am too lazy to look) decisions." I'm I wrong? If I am then please, in the name of God, tell me.

Blackmail or extortion. Take your pick. I can almost say without a doubt, that the 'leaders' of this jackass fair didn't pay any money to anyone, let alone the speaker in this clip. I can also bank on the fact that anyone that didn't pay (either by refusal or just couldn't) was chased out/harassed. I just want the city to cut power, water and stop the services from going there.
I'm afraid your insight and wisdom on the matter most likely will be lost in the sea of frothing identity politics and confirmation biases churning here in this particular comments section.
@@MisterZimbabwe thank you, I appreciate it and you're right. As a matter of fact when I clicked on it all that my eyes scanned was "this by far" and then "this comment" before it cut off with the "read more" link is, and I immediately thought "oh Christ, and it begins" LOL.
It's what you "feel," not what you"know, or could find out if you thought it was important enough."
The Minneapolis city council voted to defund the police department, with enough votes that now it can't even be vetoed, literally a day or 2 after Floyd was killed!
Sounds like a cult.
I'm surprised the dude wasn't speaking in ebonics to the crowd. That's some heavy pandering to backs for sure.
I'd give $0.01 - You're welcome!
This is ridiculous. People like that need their own country. :-/ Get them outta here.
Isn't that the guy that robbed a place and set fires and stole 5000$?
Its not about equality. Its about a transition of power. Its about a new supremacy.
You expect me to pay 10 dollars to a stranger... because their skin? No, I’d rather pay it to charity thanks. I’m not a bad person for not giving money to someone JUST because they are black
Outside of CHAZ...We call that Welfare checks paid for by taxpayers....

@@muzzer3726 they will have a hell of a time taking it by force against well-armed civilians ready to defend their homes.

They're hippies, they don't have any money!
People patting themselves on the back in this video who think that lining up to give black people a tenner will change 500 years of being shit upon. Then you have the people laughing at them who happily line up to give thousands of dollars each year to billionaires, and cheerfully mortgage their children's future for them. Who are the biggest fools?
That one black dude clapping about $10 like he's gonna buy a house... 👏 👏 👏
No. HAlfway to buying the next dime bag!

Ominous echoes of Evergreen...
Welcome to the democratic party ladies and gentlemen. If you are not voting for Trump by this point I really don't know wtf you are thinking.
If they want to be so independent, maybe they should stop ordering food and start taking care of that shit themselves.
I think about this fairly often 😂
AYOOO WHY WASNT I INVITED 😭😭🤦🏾♂️🏃🏿♂️
Liberalism at it's peak. I mean, this is Idiocrisy tier.
Are you gonna give up power, and land, and capital...? They want it all and will never stop taking
