  • What is beauty? You're sure to get a range of opinions on that, but for me what's beautiful is kind people living a good life. It's a little hard to find that in the stressful urban centers of Nigeria like Lagos, but the countryside is always a different story. I knew we had to escape the city. There was just one problem: I was told we might be kidnapped if we tried to travel out of town by road.

There are more than 200 ethnic groups in Nigeria! Many Nigerians are truly ignorant about how many groups are in the country, especially those from the 3 major groups. My ethnic group is neither Igbo, Yoruba, nor Hausa, and doesn't share any linguistic or cultural similarities with them. I don't even understand any of those languages. I am just putting this out there for the sake of those who might be misinformed by the driver's comment.
