100% agreed!! The shut created more problems than it alleviated! I’m a remolding and cabinet maker, I didn’t even hook up dust extraction, because part was in the way. Might be fine for someone who just cuts 90 degrees once a month, but if you need to use the saw for its purpose then it is true a piece of junk. The part is for a novice and really not even that. In my opinion huge fail. I appreciate your review, just wish it was out before I made the mistake of purchasing it. Thanks!
I took a look at benchworks and it looks thinner, but it also interferes with usability! Bosch has more than one engineer working on these saws and dust collection is minor when compared to usability, that is the sole purpose of a dual bevel sliding miter saw.

I agree 100 % . I have also noticed that in his latest videos he is using the ridgid and not the Bosch. So he only developed these to sell. Mabe the ridgid is better because that's his daily user

I'm surprised you don't have a separator( a must ) The hand full of dust you put directly into it was barely sucked up. I feel that your filter was severely plugged causing low suction. SN really does test them fully and every possible way. I have one and it has been fantastic. I'm using 5 HP rigid vac and a dust separator and it works great I'm very happy with it.

Dude,,, you just saved me$55.00. this demonstration along with the fact that those things are easy to get broken by pieces of wood flying up inside and breaking them. I was about to pull the trigger and buy one but not now.

I just put mine on tonight, and I was so disappointed I went looking for rogue reviews on UA-cam. You’re absolutely right, the comfortability is gone, the chute gets caught up on the fence, blows dust back into my face, and small chunks get jammed in the throat, whether or not they shoot out the back. I’m constantly trimming boards down to size, so small parts are a regular part of my process. I think it’s coming right off. Maybe I’ll give it a couple weeks.

I've seen no bad reviews on you tube that is why I did mine. Seems like you tube wood workers have formed an alignment to sell there soles for a dollar instead of teaching and entertainment

Agree. I’m back to the factory collector. The SN adapter did not seem to work appreciably better than the stock and was way too limiting. Maybe OK for 90 degree cuts in plywood but not much else.

I have the European version and it works a lot better than the orginal. I'm happy with it. Maybe upgrade your vacuum? Also Travis made a version 2 for the USA.

The problem is the small port. It won't allow enough air flow to pull the very high velocity wood particles into the shoot. Dusy collection is more about air VOLUME flow than simple vacuum pressure.

All of the reasons you mentioned were why I went with a different and much better version, made by Benchtop Woodworks. it directs everything out in the same direction as the factory setup.

I’ve purchased and have both of these versions. I prefer the Shopnation version way better and I do not have any issues with it. I don’t have the issue with the dust the way you demonstrate.

Just an observation, if you hold your hand with a pile of dust to the chut and there is minimal suction is that the faut of the chute which simply redirects the airflow or the vacuum itself? @@haveeair

I bought three of these, two have broken. I made sure to clear the cutting area was very careful with it and they still broke. The problem is that the plastic isn't solid. It's a zig zag pattern like cardboard. Not at all durable.
When I contacted SN about the first one that broke, I was more providing them an FYI on how it broke, because if you watch his channel he made an entire video on how he wasn't able to replicate the problem. Anyway, he didn't offer to replace it, instead provided a 50% off coupon. Figuring it was a fluke I gave the benefit of the doubt and bought two more. Well, I got halfway through my kitchen cabinet trim job and the 2nd one broke. For no apparent reason.... So I'm on my the 3rd and last one of these. Would NOT recommend. It's not that it might break, but when. Can't justify buying these over and over unless he changes the materials to something more durable.
That said, it was a lot better at dust collection than the stock chute. So I'll give them that.

You don't have NEARLY ENOUGH vacuum!!! Get a real dust collector. A 1 &1/2 HP (2HP better) with 3" min hose (4" better) with an addaptor to fit your fitting. Don't wear a cap. It will suck it off your head! Cheers!
