Totally! I’m 66 and my hair is growing in grey and at the top of my hips. I wished that I did long layers like Patricia’s. Mine are shorter and unfortunately it thinned my hair out. She is gorgeous and her hair is to die for!

I am a colorist/master cosmetologist I had always said as long as they make color my hair will never be gray. fast forward 50 decades, i was down for a long while which during this period my hair is completely natural light grey’ I have thought a few times about starting to lowlight, highlight bleach or color it. But there’s something holding me back, i can’t keep from thinking how grateful god has been for me to be here this long and I can’t help but think it shows a touch of gratitude to wear as well a badge of honor’ I just can’t seem to do anything but enhance my shoulder length silver hair 👩🏻🦳 you look beautiful can’t beat that’🤗

I am 62 and just started on the no color journey. My hair is also down to my waist and like you, I will NOT cut it. Just because I'm s certain age doesn't mean there's some rule that says I have to have short(er) hair. Thanks for all the great tips and your hair is gorgeous.
Your hair is gorgeous! I quit coloring my hair 4 years ago during Covid and have never looked back. I am 71 with long grey hair and most of my compliments come from younger women. My hair is so much healthier and I love not being tied to a hair appointment every 5 weeks. Only go twice a year for a shape up. Thanks Tammy for sharing all your tips with us.
I am 60 and stopped colouring it after my 50th birthday and like you it took about 3 years to full grow out my dark coloured hair ... oh the opinions that people felt the need to share about my "skunk line" lol and the fact that my husband is 5 years younger and would he not feel old lol ... I replied with if he married me for my hair colour that is a sad reason to get married lol ,, he loves me no matter my hair colour or length and let me tell you It was short short short when we met and then I started growing it out for the wedding to wear up and lo and behold the waves and curls appeared ,,, he has seen it different lengths and different colours over the years and he has been fine with whatever my choice for my hair was :) He is a keeper :)
Tammy, your hair is incredible and is really your crowning glory and is a thousand times more beautiful long than it would be shorter! The natural color is also a thousand times more beautiful than when it was colored. I can only wish I had such a gorgeous mane!
Hi Tammy, I absolutely agree with you! We should do exactly what makes us happy. I'm 58 years old and my hair is longer than yours. Started to ignore any comments about cutting it because like some people say:" You're too old for having such long hair" or " You'll look younger when your hair is WAY shorter ". To me is a big NO, NO. I believe as long my hair is looking healthy and being take care of, ill keep its length. Tammy, your hair looks beautiful ❤❤❤❤

I’m 57 yr old with brunette waist length hair! I also get a lot of compliments on my health length & color 😊.. I admit it takes time, patience and products for the maintenance!! Clarifying Shampoo, Redken Volume Injection S& C, hair mask and leave-in Conditioning!! Microfiber towels, satin/silk pillowcases, WET Brush!! Argan-Coconut-Vitamin E oils on scalp and hair(1hour with shower cap on) then Clarify Shampoo, then regular routine!! Put hair up nightly loosely! Brush hair am & pm gently upside down for 5 minutes!! I wash 2xs weekly

And today i went 1 step further and had a spiral perm which iv always wanted but thought i was to old, but i absolutely love it, and now I'll be told im to old for a spiral perm lol but hey im doing ME ❤
I am 56 and you inspired me to go natural. I only have about 2 inches of color left and I am loving my hair. It's a pretty, shiny silver with dark brown mixed in. I get compliments on it all the time.
I am on my natural hair journey, I had started last year but went to the salon to have my hair grey blended and then stylist ruined it so I had to start all over. My hair is only grey around my face but since I’ve been coloring/bleaching my hair since I was 14, now 54, I wanted to see what my actual hair color was…. I just had a color analysis done as a true spring, grey isn’t in “my” color palette but I’m doing it anyways with my natural hair and grey I think it’s going to look gorgeous once it’s all said and done! Your hair is absolutely beautiful, glad you don’t listen to the nay sayers! ❤also, I’m a Colleen Rothschild fan myself as I’m in the beauty biz and have used and tried almost every product made for hair and CR has just been the best for my hair.

My Mom gets so many compliments on her gray hair! She says it’s lots of young men complimenting her as well which is so sweet. At 45, I have yet to get a single gray hair, however I do highlight my hair about every 4 months. Eventually, I’d like to have my hair be all natural and gray. Makes me wonder when I should start the “grow out” process…. I just have that dishwater blond hair naturally so I like to add in some highlights to brighten it up. I’m looking forward to having gray hair though! Yours is stunning!
Hi Tammy❤ Do Not Cut!! your hair. I'm 68 with long silver hair. The shorter it is, the hard it is to handle comparatively. Your hair is beautiful, so go with your gut and do not let others sway you. Yes, there's texture change and frizz us silver hairs have, etc....but I get compliments all the time. I use the Redken purple mask once a month instead of the purple shampoos and conditioners. Oils with silicone protects and shines your hair( there's been a lot of marketing against this!), but it works. When I shampoo, I wash my scalp specifically 2x, then just let the suds rinse through my hair. Protein mask 1x a week. There's more I could say, but it does depend where you live. Be blessed.

Mine is straight as a board, my mom ironed my hair as to give it shine and make it sleek and straight, I have always wondered if that’s why it will not hold a curl? Even when I wore long layers, and great products, the curl would fall out within a few hrs. I’ve got to try Colleen Rothchilds hair products. Let my gray grow 10 years ago when I turned 50. At first, everyone hated it. Now they love it. I use a L’Oréal glossing toner treatment once every month. It has a little blue or purple color in it and it cuts the brassiness and gives me lots of shine.
Beautiful as always! I have the same haircut as you but longer for most of my life. I love it because when people’s tell me old people shouldn’t have long hair, I throw the long layers in the back and pull the shorter side layers to the front. Magic! lol

I've done the natural hair twice, and have now started it again at 70. I'm 3 mths in, my hair is to my bra strap at the back. It will take a couple of years. You are so pretty Tammy!
I'm 73 with very long, thin baby soft hair to my waist, that also grows quickly (from chin length to waist took only 2 years). Like to do many styles...up, down, half up, braid, etc. Curl once in awhile. After I wash my hair, I let it naturally dry, since it dries wavy. Almost never use blow dryer. I always get my hair so tangled with the round brushes! Have been dying my hair strawberry blonde for years. Tired of it and since the grey is coming thru, have been looking these past few weeks to go a grey blend. I’m a blond with a lot of gray. I’ve just started getting ashy color to blend the gray a bit. I’m outside a lot so my hair does get bleached out. I had a foot of hair cut off and she cut 3 layers. The first layer is about shoulder length. My wavy hair went curly! I now have trouble putting it up so I’m going to let it grow out until I can get it at a good length to easily put it up. My longest layer is bra strap length now. Long hair is so much easier! I’ve tried so many products and even use squalene but my light hair has lost a lot if shine. Your hair is stunning and very becoming!❤
I started growing out my color in 2020 when everything was shut down and realized I loved the color of my natural gray hair. I keep my hair in long layers too and I get so many compliments on it.

I just got 5 inches of my old color cut off the other day. By November I should be finished with all the old blond, can hardly wait! I also did the long layers. My hair grows extremely fast, by the time I am finished it will have been a 2 1/2 year journey. I am 71 and have very long hair and will not give it up. And my husband loves my gray, silver and white hair!

Going to get the Hot Rollers first … I am gray with a few white hairs … but going to which it again … as I think what is wrong with my hair is related to my scalp and of course … the shine … I need badly! I have lost a lot of my hair … stress (my husband died in front of me … and think I was in shock for a year! Hi! I just happened upon your channel looking for long hair with layers. I, too, have transitioned hair colors. My hair is now completely silver. I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer so was treated with radiation, mastectomy and five years of chemo. This is the hair color that came out the other side, and I couldn't be prouder! To me it's a beautiful symbol of my journey and I take good care of it! My hair is almost as long as yours. A trim is needed and was wondering about layers. I am a colorist/master cosmetologist I had always said as long as they make color my hair will never be gray. fast forward 50 decades, i was down for a long while which during this period my hair is completely natural light grey’ I have thought a few times about starting to lowlight, highlight bleach or color it. But there’s something holding me back, i can’t keep from thinking how grateful god has been for me to be here this long and I can’t help but think it shows a touch of gratitude to wear as well a badge of honor’ I just can’t seem to do anything but enhance my shoulder length silver hair 👩🏻🦳 you look beautiful can’t beat that’🤗

I am 62 and just started on the no color journey. My hair is also down to my waist and like you, I will NOT cut it. Just because I'm s certain age doesn't mean there's some rule that says I have to have short(er) hair. Thanks for all the great tips and your hair is gorgeous.

Your hair is gorgeous! I quit coloring my hair 4 years ago during Covid and have never looked back. I am 71 with long grey hair and most of my compliments come from younger women. My hair is so much healthier and I love not being tied to a hair appointment every 5 weeks. Only go twice a year for a shape up. Thanks Tammy for sharing all your tips with us.

I am 60 and stopped colouring it after my 50th birthday and like you it took about 3 years to full grow out my dark coloured hair ... oh the opinions that people felt the need to share about my "skunk line" lol and the fact that my husband is 5 years younger and would he not feel old lol ... I replied with if he married me for my hair colour that is a sad reason to get married lol ,, he loves me no matter my hair colour or length and let me tell you It was short short short when we met and then I started growing it out for the wedding to wear up and lo and behold the waves and curls appeared ,,, he has seen it different lengths and different colours over the years and he has been fine with whatever my choice for my hair was :) He is a keeper :)

Hi Tammy, I absolutely agree with you! We should do exactly what makes us happy. I'm 58 years old and my hair is longer than yours. Started to ignore any comments about cutting it because like some people say:" You're too old for having such long hair" or " You'll look younger when your hair is WAY shorter ". To me is a big NO, NO. I believe as long my hair is looking healthy and being take care of, ill keep its length.

I’m 57 yr old with brunette waist length hair! I also get a lot of compliments on my health length & color 😊.. I admit it takes time, patience and products for the maintenance!! Clarifying Shampoo, Redken Volume Injection S& C, hair mask and leave-in Conditioning!! Microfiber towels, satin/silk pillowcases, WET Brush!! Argan-Coconut-Vitamin E oils on scalp and hair(1hour with shower cap on) then Clarify Shampoo, then regular routine!! Put hair up nightly loosely! Brush hair am & pm gently upside down for 5 minutes!! I wash 2xs weekly

I am 56 and you inspired me to go natural. I only have about 2 inches of color left and I am loving my hair. It's a pretty, shiny silver with dark brown mixed in. I get compliments on it all the time.
I am on my natural hair journey, I had started last year but went to the salon to have my hair grey blended and then stylist ruined it so I had to start all over. My hair is only grey around my face but since I’ve been coloring/bleaching my hair since I was 14, now 54, I wanted to see what my actual hair color was…. I just had a color analysis done as a true spring, grey isn’t in “my” color palette but I’m doing it anyways with my natural hair and grey I think it’s going to look gorgeous once it’s all said and done!

My Mom gets so many compliments on her gray hair! She says it’s lots of young men complimenting her as well which is so sweet. At 45, I have yet to get a single gray hair, however I do highlight my hair about every 4 months. Eventually, I’d like to have my hair be all natural and gray. Makes me wonder when I should start the “grow out” process…. I just have that dishwater blond hair naturally so I like to add in some highlights to brighten it up. I’m looking forward to having gray hair though! Yours is stunning!

Hi Tammy❤ Do Not Cut!! your hair. I'm 68 with long silver hair. The shorter it is, the hard it is to handle comparatively. Your hair is beautiful, so go with your gut and do not let others sway you. Yes, there's texture change and frizz us silver hairs have, etc....but I get compliments all the time. I use the Redken purple mask once a month instead of the purple shampoos and conditioners. Oils with silicone protects and shines your hair( there's been a lot of marketing against this!), but it works.
When I shampoo, I wash my scalp specifically 2x, then just let the suds rinse through my hair. Protein mask 1x a week. There's more I could say, but it does depend where you live. Be blessed.

Mine is straight as a board, my mom ironed my hair as to give it shine and make it sleek and straight, I have always wondered if that’s why it will not hold a curl? Even when I wore long layers, and great products, the curl would fall out within a few hrs. I’ve got to try Colleen Rothchilds hair products. I purchased Moroccan Oil Hydrating Shampoo/ Conditioner and oh my heart, the shampoo is so Stripping causing my hair to feel like straw. Thank goodness the conditioner softens and gives me a shine. 😊
Let my gray grow 10 years ago when I turned 50. At first, everyone hated it. Now they love it. I use a L’Oréal glossing toner treatment once every month. It has a little blue or purple color in it and it cuts the brassiness and gives me lots of shine.
Beautiful as always! I have the same haircut as you but longer for most of my life. I love it because when people’s tell me old people shouldn’t have long hair, I throw the long layers in the back and pull the shorter side layers to the front. Magic! lol

I've done the natural hair twice, and have now started it again at 70. I'm 3 mths in, my hair is to my bra strap at the back. It will take a couple of years. You are so pretty Tammy!

I'm 73 with very long, thin baby soft hair to my waist, that also grows quickly (from chin length to waist took only 2 years). Like to do many styles...up, down, half up, braid, etc. Curl once in awhile. After I wash my hair, I let it naturally dry, since it dries wavy. Almost never use blow dryer. I always get my hair so tangled with the round brushes!
Have been dying my hair strawberry blonde for years. Tired of it and since the grey is coming thru, have been looking these past few weeks to go a grey blend. I am 8 months into growing out my gray hair. I’m excited to see the final results.
I’m a blond with a lot of gray. I’ve just started getting ashy color to blend the gray a bit. I’m outside a lot so my hair does get bleached out. I had a foot of hair cut off and she cut 3 layers. The first layer is about shoulder length. My wavy hair went curly! I now have trouble putting it up so I’m going to let it grow out until I can get it at a good length to easily put it up. My longest layer is bra strap length now. Long hair is so much easier! I’ve tried so many products and even use squalene but my light hair has lost a lot if shine. Your hair is stunning and very becoming!❤

I started growing out my color in 2020 when everything was shut down and realized I loved the color of my natural gray hair. I keep my hair in long layers too and I get so many compliments on it.

Hi Tammy: Have been wanting to change out my hairspray for something with more hold for my fine hair so your timing of the Extreme Hold Lacquer is perfect! Got mine today and so far so good.....does give a nice hold with no crunchies! Smell is not bad so that is a plus as well. Thanks for the heads up.....will let you know how things go moving forward. I just got 5 inches of my old color cut off the other day. By November I should be finished with all the old blond, can hardly wait! I also did the long layers. My hair grows extremely fast, by the time I am finished it will have been a 2 1/2 year journey. I am 71 and have very long hair and will not give it up. And my husband loves my gray, silver and white hair!

Hi! I just happened upon your channel looking for long hair with layers. I, too, have transitioned hair colors. My hair is now completely silver. I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer so was treated with radiation, mastectomy and five years of chemo. This is the hair color that came out the other side, and I couldn't be prouder! To me it's a beautiful symbol of my journey and I take good care of it! My hair is almost as long as yours. A trim is needed and was wondering about layers.
