Yup, this was my favorite moment of the inaugural show of this farewell tour. While they wanted to be sober and play well, this ignited an amazing real punk moment that I viewed from the pit and the next night Mike was dressed to impress and did a way better show. Sorry for your sobriety. This is your last year of needing to feel responsible to us to keep punk rock elite Fat Mike. So long, and thanks for all the shoes that we all wore the bottoms out of🤘
The story about fletcher driving Mr Brett to rehab while the entire time Brett was smoking crack in the back of his car makes Fletcher a real ass dude lol
@@design1of470 it's in the bad religion autobio that came out a couple years back. A pretty significant portion of the book is devoted to the substance abuse issues of various band members and Brett tells that story in one of his chapters. It's an incredible thing to imagine lol

@@joef-dl9fj Buddy, I’m 46, and this isn’t a competition. I’ve been into Pennywise since ‘91 when they released their first album. Their second album, Unknown Road, is pretty much my favourite album of all time, with Bad Religion’s Suffer a close 2nd. I believe NOFX released a few albums before that, but I didn’t really get into them until White Trash, Two Heebs and a Bean. I play music too, if one of my friends would do that to me during one of my show, or even not during a show. Not only, i would beat him up but ill radiate him of my friends !!!
In the previous set Circle Jerks announced it was Fletcher's birthday, so we was ready to party. Fat Mike announced that he was sick and on steroids so he was staying sober. We though Melvin was really effed up from that fall, looks like only his guitar was damaged though.
I think we were all shocked when that happened. Fucking Fletcher haha. Totally thought Melvin was bleeding at one point. But of course this would happen at the punk show. Thanks for capturing it all.
Damned, el jefe was pissed ^^. It's funny how American bands have a tendency to be very protective of their space while on stage, most European bands I saw would not react so aggressively about something like that, from what I witnessed during the shows I've been to in 3 decades at least....
As funny as this is I genuinely do worry about Mike these days. Our bodies aren’t made to chug straight booze like that when we get older. I almost gagged just watching lol.
Fletcher hung out with me and some buddies one time at the house of blues Hollywood circa 2003, told me about his scar on his arm. Said we we're the coolest people there. He was right.
That was an incredible piece of punk rock history to watch from the crowd. Thanks guys! Had a blast both days!

Glad this video exists. It happened so fast

Paying to watch alcoholics pretend to care about playing music 🤢
They promote a drunkin loser lifestyle and yet are in a professional band that works hard to make a living at. Seems a bit disingenuous to me.
