After raising our kids on Monty Python here in Texas in the late 60s, we needed a jolt! Perrin was a god-send. What Brilliant acting and writing.. one of the all time classics of Britdom... like the other lad below said, why can't they write 1/200 this well anymore? Leonard is a pure genius and rivals Basil Fawlty in my humble opinion.....
Why do the BBC never show the original show since I have never seen a whole episode. I saw it advertised on the tv & I got excited until I realized it was the new one. Why can't they repeat the originals rather than inundate us with third-rate remakes?
Wouldn't it be great if we could reverse roles like in this comedy sketch and get our own back on some of those nasty bosses we have probably all had at some time what fun it would be.Love this comedy.
yep the new version is dire beyond belief. all involved really should have known better and Fay Ripley is just embarrassing in it, Script ? what script ?
Incredible dialogue. Rossiter & Co were unbelievable. Thank you Britain for Reginald Perrin. Not to mention neo-Perrin. And crypto-Perrin.
Yeah I have the original Reginald Perrin series on DVD myself. Loved that scene with Geoffrey Palmer. Another great one.
A couple of priceless scenes, which are even funnier in the context of the series.
Why can't they write this sort of stuff nowadays, Leonard was probably our finest actor ever!

"forces of anarchy, wreckers of law and order". Best sitcom ever.
I didn't get to where I am today without knowing a bad remake when I see one!
I didnt get where I am today by not saying SUPER and GREAT
my dad is always saying "i didnt get where i am today......blahblahblah"

master piece of TV.

Great! Super! I didn't get where I am today by taking a horse to water after the stable door had bolted.
His names John Barron. He was in a few episodes of Yes Minister. but CJ is his most famous role
Reggie Perrin it's awesome! Super Great I didn't get where i am today by saying Super Great!

Super!
leonard rossiter=comic genius, Martin Clunes=good comic actor
I sure wish we could get this series for the Saturday Night BritComs we have on our local PBS station.
@jimmywires500 : I think that covers it. Clunes version is unobtrusive, and all very well, but it will never touch Leonard Rossiter.
Damn straight
... I didn't get where you are today!
Well said! I gave it 10mins on iplayer, utter crap. Leonard rules...
PLEASE say that isn't so. Redoing Reginald Perrin is senseless, and Martin Clunes seriously annoys and creeps me out.
what's the name of the other actor in the last clip? I'm sure I've seen him before?
@havermeister where are the out takes??
sorry, i recognised palmer but was referring to the the guy in the clip starting at 2:20 . I think he might be in yes minister?
"keg bitter....punk rock".........hahahahah:-)

I think the BBC remake was really good ;o)
The new one is faster paced, the older one is just annoyingly painfully slow.
