    PLEASE READ! This video is designed to outline foods that should be consumed in moderation or should be avoided IF you are battling hormone imbalances. This video does NOT mean that the listed foods are BAD FOR EVERYONE. For those of you that know my channel by now, you know that I am all about balance and I will always give you a well rounded look at ALL FOODS, good, bad, and ugly.
    I noticed there were a lot of haters on this video but the simple fact is that I created this video based on literally dozens of requests for such a video. Y'all can't hate on me for creating what you ask :-)
    Anyhow, remember, my videos are informational for those that need a practical application, not a STEP BY STEP coaching system :-)

      Perhaps. Avoiding high phyto-estrogen foods is mainly a concern for males, not really females (unless you are pregnant, as this video argues it can affect babies). I'm not the most knowledgeable on whether foods like soy are particularly bad or neutral for women, but it definitely isn't as bad as it is for men.

    God, how silly is the part about flax? 10% flax diet. Do you think that it's humanly possible to even reach a 1% of pure flax intake? It's used as an addition to foods, usually ground and in a powder form and it's actually great for you. Keep it smart and balanced and it won't disturb your hormones. Eat too much of anything and it'll cause an imbalance in one way or another. Reading scientific papers is one thing but understandng them is another.

    • @travisera1
      @travisera1 6 років тому +15

      Brazil nuts? Never heard that before. They are dangerously high in selenium. Seriously, only 1 or 2. Oysters? Boosts zinc, not test. You lose zinc when you ejaculate so men do need more zinc. I'm not keen on bottom feeders. Salmon? Um, wrong. How many testosterone damaging pollutants does a large carnivorous fish accumulate? Way too much. Never eat something doctors don't want pregnant women eating. That's just logic. Grass fed beef? What if I told you that all grains are grasses? Corn is a grass. You're eating specially marketed beef, nothing more. Beef comes from castrated bulls, aka steer. No testicles equals no testosterone. No testosterone equals elevated estrogen. Elevated estrogen equals more fat. That's why they do it. Now your game plan for boosting testosterone is to eat estrogen filled beef? You'll end up like the steer. Full of estrogen and fat. What does work? Lionel hutz gets it. Winning boosts testosterone. Plenty of sleep as well. And a high carb diet. Sex is winning btw.

    OMG. Thomas, I've been consuming ALL of these foods kind of on the daily....Could explain why I can't seem to really get into ketosis so easily and why my monthly cycle dates seemed to shift all the time. :\
    So...I guess that means I should stop using soy sauce. Bummer. I love soy sauce when I braise pork and other meats. Just had a few questions, if you didn't mind answering them:
    1. I consume a lot of butter. Since that's dairy, should I also cut that out?
    2. What is a good amount of protein to have at each meal for a 160 lbs, 5'4 female? I've been told maybe have around 18 g per meal.
    3. Should I stick to plant fats mainly? So far I've been enjoying a good mix of butter, coconut oil, olive oil, and lots of animal fat from pork. Ever since I started eating pork my skin got a lot better for some odd reason. Also, if heating butter and coconut oil together, or heating any animal fat, bad when you have the burner on usually from medium to high heat?
    4. In this video, you talked a lot about estrogen. Well, I've been told that if you eat a lot of eat you will lose a lot of hair from DHT. Not sure if this is true or not; could you validate this?
    5. This also ties in with hormones, but have you heard of that study that a lot of vegans cite about how women who consume a lot of meat have male children with smaller genitals and feminine features?
    Thanks, Thomas. Please feel free to address any of these points briefly in text or in a future video. As you know, I hesitantly stopped eating a vegan diet and I'm trying to learn as much as I can.

      Mcrey Fonacier difficult but obtainable, the tricky part is having experience in the field. Most analyst positions require three years of experience for entry level positions, so the best way to become an analyst is to get an internship while getting your BA/BS preferably in a major that correlated with analytics, like business, economics, statistics, etc. The field does require a bachelors degree so that will be the primary barrier to entry. I became a business analyst about three years ago and absolutely love it. You must have a knack for computers and logic, if you have those two things then I definitely recommend going for it!

    • @thenew4559
      @thenew4559 5 років тому

      The phrase "correlation does not equal causation" is already sort of a common phrase in the public, at least among reasonably educated people. Of course, it isn't a principle that everyone really takes to heart either. Even if they recognize the phrase to be true, it is still a common fallacy people can easily fall prey to using. Especially in politics (for every ideology).

    99% of all crops, not just soy is Genetically modified. Estrogen is not the worst thing in the world. It helps repair and bone strength. You have to consume huge amounts of soy to have any effect on hormones.

    For most people, soy actually activates the beta estrogen receptors, which actually protect against estrogenically negative effects. Alpha receptors are mostly activated when consuming excessive amounts, of 7-18 servings per day. Also, the flax study was performed on RATS, not humans. No human studies I have ever seen back up what you are saying.

    Heya Thomas, great channel and yes there has been a lot of controversy on Soy lately, especially Tofu.
    One thing that I'm having difficulties understanding is whether organic/non-gmo tofu is actually good for you as a protein source or whether it should also be consumed in moderation.
    In Europe we have many organic soy options so would be good to get more insight into this.

    I have never been a friend of soy oil but I must confess I like the soy sauce as condiment.
    Traditionally if we (Eastern Europeans) do not use oil then we are using pork fat, lard, especially now during the winter.
    So, how about lard (pork fat) then? Good or bad?

If your vegetarian/vegan than I'm not sure I want to make any recommendations since I've only done that once for lent. You can always check out vegetarian/vegan videos on youtube for tips. Just keep in mind that what you eat can affect your mood and personallity so you might want to see how the youtuber acts while they are talking. Grew some of his own veggies and as an Asian he ate plenty of soy! He was a very fit trim man all his life! He ate meat and enjoyed cooking his own foods. He ate lots of fatty meats like pork, beef and fish like tuna! He ate the fat part as well as the lean. He was keto when keto wasn’t cool 😎!

      Shell Bell as a vegan the only dairy I consume is goat cheese... Cow dairy is meant to grow a calf into a 600lb cow in 9 months.. (71 to 80lbs) per month.. Doesn't make any sense why humans need it.. Theres no calcium benefits either.. In the United States we consume the most dairy but yet we have the highest osteoporosis rate and hip fractures?? human or breast milk has the lowest amount of protein compared to other species for a reason.

      liquid aminos taste the same, however fermented soy in soy-sauce does not contain the same phytoestrogen content as, say, a block of tofu. Furthermore, it does not have a resounding affect on the body. Soy, buy and large contains far fewer phytoestrogens than other foodstuffs, legumes and hops for example - it only gets the bad wrap due to dairy push back on soy based replacements.
