The wino slip-on is my go to shoe forever. I like, how the toe feels more narrow, more like a point, compared to the vans. There’s more room around the balls of your feet, the sidewall is higher and the rubber is not as hard as the vans skate line. So they definitely last longer for me, plus they’re lower around the ankle than a vans, idk if anybody noticed that yet. 🤷♀️ if you ever roll your ankle and it’s too swollen to wear other shoes, try these, I know from experience. And if you don’t want your foot moving around after they stretch, size down, they’ll stretch to fit your feet better. Also! They’re always on sale.
@@IncelopeMori Damn I didn't notice at the time but now you say that, I can definitely tell they sit lower than Vans slip ons do! Yeah dude, they have stretched a little bit more since this video but still fit well and you cab definitely find these somewhere 👌🏼
New balance 306s have a Laceless model I'm on my 2nd pair. They are nice. Based on this video they sound similar to the wino. Never liked Van's slip ons and now the new balance have opened me up to the idea of the winos when I'm browsing CCS or zumiez or some skate shop online
I like the vans skate slip on. I have a narrower foot, so that’s probably why. As for the blister issue, it wasn’t really present with me. I do wear the vans socks and they have a gel insert at the heel. Still require the break in period, but they are good past that point. The flick is great and even the heelflip flick works for me. The only issue I have is that it’s a low top shoe and I feel less confident doing a flip trick down anything too big. Outside of that, I love them. Super iconic shoe, pairs with just about any outfit, and is a great shoe for a beginner to intermediate skater like myself.
Yeah the shoes might not be as painful for someone with a more narrow foot. The Vans slip ons are actually one of my favourite shoes too! They look good, skate good and last really long too but for me, or a more wide footed person, they are just so painful and take soooo long to break in so sometimes it's not worth 4 weeks or a painful break in period when the Emerica slip ons are good to go out of the box lol
I got vans skate slip ons as my first slip on skate shoe. I unfortunately got them a half size too big based on reviews saying they run small. Using heel inserts to compensate. You really have to break the hell out of the Vans, the back part that grabs the heel can really rub against your Achilles tendon until I stomped the crap out of it to break them in faster. Probably will get better with time, but will consider Emericas for my next shoe
You were probably better off going a size up though since they can be so tight and painful at first! The only problem with that though is once they have worn in they feel a little loose because they are a size up lol Yeah the Emerica Wino Slip ons are much more comfortable at first and wear in really fast compared to the Vans slip ons!
Size 11 in both shoes dude That's why I was so surprised how differently both of these shoes fit lol I would probably need an 11.5 or 12 in the Vans for them not to hurt my feet so much but then as they wear in more and loosen up then they would just become way too loose
I had the Nike SB Verona slip ons and Fucking loved them but cannot get ANYWHERE in the UK now. I might give the Emerica’s a try I think. Thanks for the review.
what size are you wearing for the Nike GT Blazer Lows compared to the Vans slip ons? i have the same issue with the vans slipons and also kinda have wide feet
I wear US11 in all shoes but if I could get my hands on an 11.5 in the Vans slip ons I think that would be the sweet spot 👌🏼 I've tried the Vans slip ons in a size 12 but they were just too loose to skate in 👎🏽
Just found your channel I skate lakai Owen slip ons and I like them. I don’t recommend the Nike Verona slip on they are narrow and I got a heel bruise from a 3 foot drop.
I picked up the Cons ⭐️ Slip-on, but they didn’t lock my heel well enough to keep ‘em… so I ended up with another pair of Vans’ Skate, and I literally feel your pain… brutal, but I think it’s the newer insole as well.
Yeah dude, I've tried them on before and they just feel like they will slip off of my foot with every step I take lol Definitely! Vans are amazing shoes once they are worn in, but the wear in process is just so long and painful 🥲
Cons fit narrow as fuck that's why, any time you buy cons go a full siE down and the shoe will fit how it's supoose too. (This is why people who ride for cons look like they have clown shoes on cause they tell them a size and it's a size too big)
Did anyone else feel like they're extra long? I just finished with my winos and went to the vans. Same complaints about the vans, but the sizing is much better. Does anyone drop down half a size for the winos? Because, that's what I might try after the vans.
Okay, I lied. Just got a new pair and they are pretty damn tight new. 😂 might shove a couple old wheels or something in them over night. Bothers me more like sitting in the car but standing not as much. Probably sinking into them more standing. But yeah my last pair were the “pros” these are the “skate” series.
I wear vans slip ons for everyday use in and around the house. i dont find my feet hurt which is good but that might be coz it has the pop cush insole makes it much more comfy (i tried a regular vans slip on once and never again!) I dont feel my skating benefit from slip on shoes as i find them a bit loose on my foot, very little in terms of protection lol 😂 i do like the vans sk8 hi as they do stay on the foot much better and added ankle protector/support as a bonus hehe but 😅😊❤
Yeah the sole of the shoes are really comfortable and supportive actually 👌🏼 But yes there is absolutely no protection for your ankles and top of your feet which can be very painful lol
@@LeonPaxton Vans, for me, are very narrow for my feet. I more or less have to have a half size bigger than for other shoes to get my feet in there and even then I usually can’t even lace the top one hole. They also like to pinch my pinkie toe. They usually look dope though.
Hi Leon, Greetings from the other side of the world (Germany). I really enjoy your content, since I got quite similar taste. Did you try the Bones X97 wheels yet? Probably sth. You’d enjoy riding. Also, if you didn’t try NB 1010, or 508, you might want to give it a shot. So comfy for wide feet, durable and great feel. Keep it up… cheers bro.
Thanks so much dude! 🙏🏼 I've actually just got my hands on a set of the Bones X97 wheels so the video will be coming soon 🤫 Yeah the 1010's look good and I've heard they are good for wide feet too so I might have to suss them out soon 👌🏼 Thanks my man!
The wino are better in every way Iove how they added the spot for the heel they feel higher quality all around better imo. Vans slip ons rip quick and feel bad on foot they slip off too much and they get busted quick it’s not worth the money especially because they give me blisters I didn’t have that problem with the winos.
How is this one shoe versus the other if you only skated one of them? Also, Emerica's wear down on the heels rather quickly versus Vans. Also, why are you paying such a high price for shoes anyway?
Man I love vans artistic style but the shoe just fall apart in no time. Every now and then I get a pair that holds up but mostly they all fall apart quicker than any other shoe. Exception is the ultra range but that’s not a skate shoe. It’s a great chill shoe.
The reason why Vans compresses your feet so much it's because of their stupid thicc insole, I also have a wide feet and I can't even fit in my true to size, while the regular ones fit me just fine.
Yeah that could also be a reason for it! The sole is really good protection for impact but I guess it creates less room in the actual shoe for your foot 🤔
Do you guys like skating in slip on?
If so, which brand is your favourite?
I enjoyed the Etnies XLT slip on personally. Usually pretty cheap too

Great review and actually ripping mate. Nice work.

I tried a pair of Vans slip ons and my heel just kept slipping out, I returned them the next day.
Damn that's the opposite problem to me! My feet get too squished in there lol
We're they vans skate slip ons or vans classic slip ons. Very different.

Good video!!! Does the emerica system adsorb impacts on the knees or do you recommend another one? And they are very comfortable!
