Just bought a 2021 x5 45e coming from a f10 530d the difference is absolutely mind boggling! Taking nothing away from the 530d as it’s a great car
Great performance as it weights more than 2.5 tons and has poor aerodynamics. That B58 is such a beast!
I had opportunity to drive one and you feel the weight in the corners. The petrol engine works smoothly with the electric. I was surprised how well it worked together. The suspension was very nice.
I can’t wait for the B58 TÜ2. It will make this car even better. Hybrid will do 480 HP from 389 HP.

I used to drive a X5 40e. It's impressive how much it has improved, the 40e felt like a bad experiment but this new one just makes sense. That powerplant makes me very jealous

Yep, the 45e was a big step up from the 40e. They really fixed and refined a lot of things. I am surprised there aren't more PHEVs. For what they are they work really well.

How much real world miles can you go with the battery

@@bmwx5130 in average is about 60-80km in town. On national road with regen even more than 100km

@@fil1933 I dislike the new indicators/day-time running lights. The old ones used to dim when you indicate. Nowadays, the indicator is just a strike.. Kinda unspectacular tbh

@@floriantotaj992 i charge the x5 with my solar panels and drive most miles full electric so i use about 1 to 2 liters per 100km!!!🥳 The 530 was about 7 to 8 liters per 100km which isn't bad but not great either
@@nunyabusiness9074 same with me. I average about 1-1.5l/100km. Most of the time I’m on full electric and get about 60km on a single charge

I own one of these in Manhattan green 😅. It’s a wonderful vehicle I’ve had the same gas in it for nearly two months 😊. I love how I handles as a daily street and dirt roads on a farm like I use it ! The air suspension with my tires and small wheels make it 10 inches off the ground , clears a lot. Yes I know but I wanted to so I used it the way I wanted 🤷🏾♀️

Does the hybrid system helps in 0-60 acceleration? I mean does this feels faster than the normal drive40i x5?
It does with the eboost, but the 750 lbs of additional battery weight negates it , BMW under rates as usual, mine does a 4.8 S 0-60. Many have done it
Yes it does help, but yes as others have said it also weighs 750lbs more (500lb battery and 250lb of electric motor and other stuff). The electric motor and ICE work very well together though, it is pretty smooth

How do you rev the engine? The engine does not run when you are in park or idle…
I haven't driven the full hybrid BMWs, but in the mild hybrid ones the engine doesn't turn off if you're in sport mode. The same with Start-Stop system in regular drive trains (before they were made mild-hybrid). I suspect it's the same with full hybrids. Notice that he's in Sport mode at the beginning of the video - right after the first take-off.
I used to drive a X5 40e: when you press the accelerator, even if you at in N or P, the engine turns on and you can rev it
You just use Launch Control. Turn DSC all the way off, turn sport mode on, switch shift knob into sport, hold down break pedal, floor the gas pedal, then release the break pedal. The car has to be warmed up before doing this (drive around for about 5 miles first in Sport mode with ICE on the whole time)

Only 394 BHP with an inline 6 turbo and electric motors? The engine must be hella undertuned
It is, nothing a little tune can't fix, it is one of the best modern engines for tuning

I would love an X5 40d but the tax system in this stupid country makes that a really poor choice when comparing to the X5 45e.
So 45e it is. Depreciation has done it's work. They lost over half their original value in 3-4 years so I'll be buying one now.

Outdated exterior (much worse than the X3) and too much plastic inside for this price. Also, gear lever should've been next to the steering wheel instead of wasting precious space in the middle tunnel.

It's what you can expect from 400HP. Nothing special but certainly not slow.

In my opinion not the best Hybrid SUV. That has to go to the Jaguar P400e with a 400hp combined and a 0-60mph of 5sec. Feels even faster too. You guys should do review of it and see what you think!
This is faster and more fun to drive. I own one and I have a neighbor with that Land Rover lol he covets lol he covets it’s just faster and more economical

You dont buy an x5 45e to be fast😂😂 you buy an x5 45e to have a great comfortable car with way less cheap plastic than an jaguar, you buy this car to drive electric to work and if you want to go fast you can go pretty fast with one of the best and smooth engines ever made i own one and man i have had a bmw 2017 x5m f85 ( gen before the this gen ) but this car is way better as an family suv ofcoutse that x5m with the 4,4 v8 575 horsepower was fast and loud and fun buy i like my new x5 45e more
