  • Join us for a relaxing time lapse cruise up the St. Johns River from Jacksonville to Sanford, FL aboard our 1999 Bayliner 4788 motor yacht.
    165 nautical miles and 31.5 hours of cruising up the very scenic St. Johns River... in just under an hour!
    We had so much positive feedback on the time lapse videos we've integrated into our travelogues, we thought we'd try covering the entire trip in one compilation video.
    This is a complete coverage from Mills Creek near the end of the St. Johns River to Monroe Harbour Marina in downtown historic Sanford. Filmed starting in August 2018, and completed in October.
    Sit back and Enjoy the cruise!
    For the individual cruising segments, we have them all documented in our Cruising Y-Not Playlist: • Cruising Y-Not Travelo...
    Camera Gear Used:
    Garmin Virb: amzn.to/2NxJzJb

      The clouds are so fun to watch in the time lapse.. a perspective you just don't get in real-time video. Glad you enjoyed cruising with us!

    We were making this same trip with 3 other boats in the late 90s and were spending the night just south of the railroad bridge before entering lake george, when a boat pulled up. The guy was writing a book called cruising the St. Johns. Put all our pictures in his book which is sold at West Marine. Great trip.

    Love this perspective of your travel up this waterway ! It was beautiful and fun to see the bridge in Astor that we have driven over countless times for years from a different perspective. Thanks for putting this together.

    Cherie & Chris, THIS VIDEO IS TOTALLY AWESOME!!! It brought back so many fond memories of my time with the house boat. I'm the guy that sat back and spent an afternoon watching clouds move by. Thank you so very much for bringing back the memories, and sharing your incredible journey! (edited to correct spelling)

    What a great river cruise, beautiful waterway and not a lot of watercraft to get in the way. Looks like you picked the perfect time of the year to do the St. Johns River. Happy sailing.

    How tall is this boat from the water surface and do you know the shortest bridge you had to go under

    • @Technomadia
      @Technomadia  5 років тому

      We're at 18.5' without folding anything. If we take down the Bimini & arch we can do about 14'. I don't recall the bridge heights along the St. Johns... there aren't many at all and two of them have openings.

    How do you guys feel about your ship navigating skill set now that you have some experience under your belts? Do you feel comfortable going in open waters say at night? Do you feel you can handle most onboard mechanical issues while on the water? Long time sub here (before the boat)..Do you have interests/hobbies outside of traveling and your internet /cellular communications education biz? is there time for anything else? What are your long term plans? always enjoyed the videos..

      We've definitely upped our comfort level.. but have zero desire to cruise in the dark (what's the point?).

    • @Technomadia
      @Technomadia  5 років тому +1

      We're cruising the ICW, river ways and lakes. And we don't tend to move more than 10-25 nm in a day. Not really a factor for us. We consider the cruising part of the adventure, not just getting from A to B.
