Yes I did. this was so beautiful, the clouds was so low in some places scenic was great, near the end it look like another country. I loved your choice of music. Yes ,Please share this kind again with us. Your lovely wife knows the water and the boat. Must be a wonderful life when all goes well. Thank you both. Peace.
That was a blast. I recognized everything from the GTM Preserve north of St. Augustine into the St. John's River. Did that many times when I was still boating. Great memories.
Loved it! I tried to follow journey with satellite map images. Would love to see insert with GPS map and briefly identify more towns, bridges & landmarks. I’d love to take this trip but don’t have a boat.
Good video, time lapse was excellent. I remember the hours of boredom at 8 knots leaving Jax and headed to Miami on my Defever 44. Now in Corpus Christi Down Town Marina and enjoying it as I live aboard full time.
Some trivia. Did you know once upon a time in Jax. a place called Jax liquor was set up like a McDonalds drive through. You could ask for a bourbon, vodka, gin, whatever, a cup of ice, cola, seven up,water, drive to the window and pay. They would set you up to drink and drive. They wouldn't mix the booze for you though. The good ol bad ol days. talking the early 70's. North of Jax Beach, there was a restaurant on the beach that's a beautiful setting. Dine and watch the phospherous light up the surf at night. Enjoying your cruise. Enjoy your youth!
I like this video, along with your other time-lapse cruising down the St. Johns from Jacksonville, what what was a missed opportunity was to show continuous identifiers of towns, marinas, and points of interest along the way. The videos are going so fast, that when you come up to a spot that looks like somewhere one may want to visit themselves, we have no clue where you are. What would have been real nice, is to have a continuous insert, like your infrequent map, of the chart plotted voyage, zoomed in enough that one can see the actual location you're passing or visiting. Thanks!
Check out our travelogue videos that go along with these time lapses. We didn't intend the time lapses to replace those. They're just to sit back and casually enjoy.
Damn he is not marking every area you might want to see lol. He has his own time to thing about. Take the trip and make your own video of you got time to look at every are.
Loved the video. but can't believe how people drive their boats, just crossing in front of you looks to be pretty close some times.. it they drive a boat that way, I don't want to be on the street with them lol.. I loved seeing all the water ways and places that you can go without having to use a car.. Did not know there were so many places you could go down there.. Still a great show..
The passings sure do look much more scary on time lapse... but in real time we're usually moving along at just 7-8 knots and the passings have plenty of room (and many of them coordinated as slow passes over VHF).
Smudge happens! Love the time lapse, it's nice to see a quick look at your travels for this cruising season. When you're done with the your S-Loop, I wonder if a complete time lapse would take more than or less than 24 hrs? I'm looking forward to following the journey!
Hah, that would be fun to compile the entire loop once we're done. And at our pace, who knows what technology will be available to film time lapse several years down the road.
I loved this video. Thanks for sharing. I did a video on ICW it is called “living on the intracoastal waterway. True Southern Accent.” My aunt and uncle live on the ICW between Saint Augustine and Jacksonville Florida. I you passed there house. Your boat might be in my video.
I’ve been following about 20 sailors and there crews on UA-cam for a few years ,, I would really like to get into sailing but have no experience at all other then going on a few NCl cruises lol , I truly love watching videos on the ocean but here is the crazy part I’m petrified of what’s under the water it might be because my parents took me to see jaws opening night in the 70’s lol .. I have figured out I like catamarans well I really like your style mini Yacht but the cost to operate would be well out of my comfort zone .. I want to really study boats and navigation over the next 2 years ,so on my 50th birthday I will sell everything (not much) and buy a used cat .. next time your in the Juno/Jupiter area maybe we can meet and talk about your knowledge of sailing and costs , drinks and steak on me as long as we can laugh and talk about boating
Thanks... at our pace, it'll be several years before we're back around to Jupiter however :) We're not overly knowledgable about sailing... but keep in mind, all boats have substantial maintenance costs (sails and rigging aren't cheap). For us, a motor yacht was the right choice for the type of cruising we're doing. You just don't get to sail much doing the Great Loop. And at our pace of travel, the operating costs (fuel, engine maintenance) are quite reasonable.
How tall is the top of your boat/rigging? I was surprised at the bridges that appeared to have significant clearance to the water surface but were raised for your passage. Some time, on a calm day when the water is flat, I would like to see Y-Not slip out of the ICW and into the Atlantic for a little ride before she dives back for safety. Enjoyed the time lapse!! THANX!! (I love spelling it that way.)
We're 18.5' tall. When cruising in S. FL for example - most the bridge openings are on a schedule. If you're keeping a consistent speed you pretty much end up in sync with them. If there were other boats already waiting, we'd just wait with them instead of trying to sneak through. So not all bridge openings were because we needed them, but simply because we got there in time with an opening for other boats.
You were headed north. If you are going south, then the schedule doesn't work, right? I guess most of the boats doing the great loop on the ICW are going north on the Atlantic side but there has to be the occasional sail boat with a tall mast headed south. This has to be a pain for them, doesn't it?
We honestly haven't needed one on the boat.. Florida is pretty populated. If we need signal enhancing, we stick with MIMO. But we do have a couple boosters on board to try if needed - the weBoost 4G-X is still our favorite - www.rvmobileinternet.com/4g-x
We have about a 700mi range on our tanks... there are generally fuel stops every few miles. Longest stretch along the loop will be a couple hundred miles. No concern.
@@Technomadia that's pretty awesome, I was wondering what a tour through the intercoastal water system was like. Looks awesome. Thanks for making the video
Technomadia As smart/computer savvy as you two are, I know that if it’s at all possible you’ll find a way...every confidence. Love your water videos. Oh to be 30 years younger.
I totally wanted a map to go along with it... but the amount of work would have added several hours of production time. Since we just do these videos for fun.. only so much 'work' we can justify putting into them.
Sorry not to see some footage of you opening up the throttle at normal film speeds. I own a 3888 and have been considering a move up to a 4788. Would like to see how she rides on plane.
At 20:33 - is that former landing craft being as rude at seamanship as she looks like or did she hail you to pass so tightly? Her hull speed isn't appreciably faster than yours...
As a former 4788 owner (upgraded) it looked tight even at 0.25 speed on YT. Glad to hear it was just another day on the ICW. Love keeping up with your loop. I'm hoping to do a version but my newer gal can't fit under the Chicago bridges so it may be a bit more creative or involve some 2AM trucking...
I really enjoyed this!
Nice flat water sailing. You sure see lots of sailors with only two speeds...… none and full. Enjoyed watching it again. Happy sailing.
Great video and now this is on my bucket list
Very very appreciative for your video.

Very nice video. Felt like I was cruising with you. Thanks
Really excellent choice of music !
Very nicely done!
Very Nice video....enjoyed it!
i could watch this for hours
That's fun. I expect a steadier hand on the helm next year! :)
I noticed as well. I wonder if he was at the wheel or hand steering the autopilot?

They still have that off Arlington Rd N & the Expressway
Very beautiful. 🤗
Thank you for sharing.👍
Have fun and enjoy. 🙏

I enjoyed. Keep making them please.
Beautiful video! The music changed more frequently later on, I liked that.
Loved the video. Would like to see shorter trips at a slower time lapse.
Loved it! Thanks for sharing..

Damn at 20:34 looks like they needed a few rounds to their haul. Looked like they were on top of you.
You're inspiring me to do the same with my son
Aww, I was looking forward to seeing the stretch between Palm Beach and Ft. Pierce. Nice video though.
I loved this video. Thanks for sharing. I did a video on ICW it is called “living on the intracoastal waterway. True Southern Accent.” My aunt and uncle live on the ICW between Saint Augustine and Jacksonville Florida. I you passed there house. Your boat might be in my video.
If you are keeping count mark me down as.. "NOT SO MUCH".. to each his/her own. But in general you guys do great job. Tight lines and smooth seas.
Aw was hoping to see the jax skyline at the end.
You made a nice video :-)
Thank you
Very nice

So Beautiful but I couldn't help but think of the wake you would have been making if you really were going that fast.
Oh my - tidal waves!
Beautiful trip. Did you steer with the wheel or were you able to hand steer using the autopilot?
We mix it up - some of each. When Cherie has the helm, she prefers to always hand steer.
Thanks for taking the time to make this wonderful video. What is the speed limit and what was your average speed you traveled?
Speed limits vary by locality.. we typically cruise at 7-8 knots.
Love it! Keep it up!!
Loved it!
Too bad you left out Ormond Beach to Marineland. That was my old stomping grounds.

There's no difference heading north or south.. bridges open at the same time. One bridge to serve both directions.
Did you ever go out into open water? I notice your in the intracoastal exclusively. Do some fishing offshore.
Coming the ICW, no - we didn't go outside. We stuck to the traditional Great Loop route.
Love it!!!
That was interesting.
Welcome to the FSA, the Florida Sandbar Association (sponsored by Towboat US and SeaTow)
Are you aground, yet?
Hey guys what cell booster are you using for your boat now? I’m trying to find a good one for my sailboat here in San Diego bay 👍🏼
We honestly haven't needed one on the boat.. Florida is pretty populated. If we need signal enhancing, we stick with MIMO. But we do have a couple boosters on board to try if needed - the weBoost 4G-X is still our favorite - www.rvmobileinternet.com/4g-x
Love them.
Where do you get fuel if you dont carry enough to make the full trip off one tank?
We have about a 700mi range on our tanks... there are generally fuel stops every few miles. Longest stretch along the loop will be a couple hundred miles. No concern.
@@Technomadia that's pretty awesome, I was wondering what a tour through the intercoastal water system was like. Looks awesome. Thanks for making the video
thank you!
I was about to go meet you in Miami! Ha
Have you thought about having a map the upper corner of the video so we can see where we are?
That would be very cool if we could someday figure out a way to do that - but I don’t think it would be easy.
Technomadia As smart/computer savvy as you two are, I know that if it’s at all possible you’ll find a way...every confidence. Love your water videos. Oh to be 30 years younger.

Technomadia Absolutely correct...not cost effective. I’m so glad ya’ll can lead your lifestyle while you’re young and healthy. Great job.
Even more fun: run the video at 1.5X
Curious. Was the camera set for timelapse or did you just edit the speed in post?
The camera recorded in time lapse
What kind of GPH numbers are you getting at 7 knots?
About 3-3.2
Cool! We're you able to use the auto pilot for much of the trip so far?
Chris tends to use the autopilot on long straightaways, but Cherie enjoys steering with her feet.
Sorry not to see some footage of you opening up the throttle at normal film speeds. I own a 3888 and have been considering a move up to a 4788. Would like to see how she rides on plane.
We've included footage in our travel videos on plane... really doesn't look any different in a video.
Great vid. Did you create the time lapse in post?
This was all filmed as time lapse with our Garmin Virb... I just merged them together and added music.
Technomadia Nice work! Loved it. Great camera. Thanks.
Was the ICW well marked all the way up?
Yup
How much fuel did this trip take?
We've been averaging about 3.2 gallons per hour of cruising time.
At 20:33 - is that former landing craft being as rude at seamanship as she looks like or did she hail you to pass so tightly? Her hull speed isn't appreciably faster than yours...
They did not hail us - but it was a much slower pass then it appears in time lapse speeds, and was not very tight.
61 hours? how? I dont see the night.
We only cruise during the day for a few hours a day.. this was over 6 months of footage.
I was disappointed. I waited to for you to get to Flagler County, skipped us completely, between Daytona and Marineland. Just kidding tho, cool video.
We were disappointed too when we realized we had forgotten to film several segments. ☹️
Or that the battery died before a cruise was done. That cruise was a 6-7 hr cruising day (our longest yet), only the first half got captured.
