So glad you girls got to visit our wonderful state! There is no place like Texas 😊. I found out after the fact that friends of mine went to DFW and one of them bought a skein of “Dallas Nights” in sparkle base. It was beautiful! Come back to see us!
Jodi, so thrilled that you made the decision to quit smoking. You will feel better as your lungs clear up. I am up off and on at night so I can sympathize. You can always knit or watch podcasts.
Love both of your sweaters. Colors are so good.
Glad to see you ladies again.
Jodi, those beautiful hearts on your sweater are exquisite!! Beautiful work ladies. Good to 'see' you!! Soooooo PROUD OF YOU for not smoking Jodi be gently with you during this time!!! You go Gurl!! 🏳️🌈 Big Love💜💜💜💜💜
congrats for quitting...now you'll have more in the budget for yarn, retreats and travelling.
Yah I am excited to be able to go to the Hippy Strings Knit in the Mountains event, WOO HOO!
Hi...where did you get the needle holder from? I heard the name Erica but not sure what her shop name is...thanks!
Absolutely agree, older women are not well represented as models. Thanks for the shout out😀
Ok, when Jodi said his nuts were delicious and then Tracie said we had a ball right after that? I lost it, so funny.
Susan Farrier I was just going to post the same thing!
Same! I about spit food everywhere. I should learn not to eat while watching them. They crack me up.
Lmao! 😆😆😆 that part was hilarious!
Wow, Jodi...I had no idea you were a smoker..congratulations on quitting!! That’s definitely life changing...good for you!!
I had to pause and Congratulate Jodi on quitting smoking!!!! What a huge life changer that is for you and your family! I'm sure it's probably the hardest thing you will ever do! So wonderful!! 🎉
Jodie, no smoking, such wonderful news. I hope you can sleep better soon. Great spending time with you today.
There is a place that will ship Texas beef brisket. It’s called New Braunfels Smokehouse - and it is sooo good!
FINALLY!!!!! I CANT WAIT TO WATCH THIS! Ive been stalking you 😍😘
So you know I spit out my tea when she Jodi said his nuts are good! 🤣😂😂🤣
Jodi I'm super proud of you and your husband for quitting smoking!!! Love You!!
Yay, thank you for another wonderful episode! Your Mountain Mist sweaters are spectacular. Congratulations Jodi for quitting smoking -- it's so hard. Love, love, love all the yarn you showed. And those pom poms -- I can't even. Ladies, you make my week
Ms. Naughty n Ms. Nice are back!!! Beautiful sweaters... Glad to see u safe n sound. Jodi congrats! Thanks for sharing everything ladies!
So happy for you Jodi!! Hard to quit but the rewards will be amazing
Having a real grump .. sat down with my knitting and your podcast and felt much better within minutes!! Thank you !!!
The pompoms remind me of the hair on doctor suess characters. They are super cute!
Traci...from the symptoms you are showing sounds like you may have a touch of what Texans refer to as "cedar fever" If you have never had allergies in your life you will when you come to Texas. Not exactly the right time of year at least not in my part of Texas for the cedars. May have cedars still pollinating over towards DFW. Myself I usually have my horrid case of respiratory illness sometime between getting set off by the cedars and when the bluebonnets bloom. I am not allergic to the bluebonnets but to something or a combo of things that pollinate when the bluebonnets are at their peak.
Rudy’s BBQ in Texas will FedEx food to you. INSANELY DEELISH
We got our Christmas dinner in California from Rudy's. This Tex-pat was soooo happy.
Please post link to Joji's suede bags.
Omg so good to have you back missed you so much!!😍 I was suppose to be doing jobs! Still sat in pjs knitting watching my favourite ladies! Amazing as always xx😘😘
Thank you both for recording again. I look forward to my time with you gals, every 2 weeks. Great job for quitting smoking! Keep up the awesome knitty entertainment!
Good for you on not smoking! Missed your whimsy! Glad you are back! I can't knit fast enough
What!? I am so gobsmacked! Thank you SO much for the lovely things you said! I'm speechless.
I'm also tickled that you had such a great time at the show. I think we all feel that it's special and I'm so glad that came across to you.
True story: I was living in Utah in my twenties and my mom overnighted McClard's Barbeque for my birthday! And yes, it was sooo good and totally worth it:)
Congratulations Jodi!! I'm so happy for you quitting!!!
"...but his nuts were delicious"... I'm dying right now 🤣 Congrats on quitting smoking! Those crazy withdrawal symptoms are really gonna screw with you, but you're gonna feel so much better when you're past it. :-)
So glad to hear you quit smoking Jodi!!!! You will feel so much better and save so much money for yarn. Glad you enjoyed your trip.
Could you speak a bit slower? I am not an english speaker and I love your podcast but sometimes it cost me too much to understand what are you speaking about!
You can slow down the playback of the video.
Love ya, girls 💗😘 Thanks for another awesome podcast! Tracie, I hope your cold goes ASAP. See you soon Xx
Congratulations on Quoting smoking! I have been smoke free for 13 years. Keep up the great job!
Blue Brick - amazing company - super beautiful yarns, her books are stunning and patterns spectacular... yeah Ontario!!
Jodi I love your unapologetic conversation!! My fave was everyone loved his salty nuts.... about the hot male peanut vendor.
Yayyyy Jodi! Congrats on quitting smoking. When I quite a few years ago I had insomnia like crazy for awhile. I couldn't fall asleep and then when I could, I wouldn't stay asleep so I totally feel you! It does go away though (eventually!) Enjoy all your monies!
Isn’t Hatdana the bomb!?
That's my state. So glad you came and come back for the people and the BBQ.
New episode hurrah!. The urge to see it as soon as possible and at the same time wanting to wait because I don't want it to be over too soon. Love, love, love this podcast. Hello from a knitter in Norway :-)
Yay jodi❤❤❤❤ keep up the good work on no smoking BRAVO🤩🤩🤩
I just boomarked the Calyx sweater somewhere (can't remember) and love it! I can't wait to see how yours turn out. You guys are great, and congratulations Jodi on stopping smoking. Such an accomplishment. I'm knitting a Stormy Sea 2.0 for a friend. Love your patterns you guys.
From a former smoker - Congratulations! Keep it up.
I'm a transplanted Texan, and it's true: Texas is a whole other Country 😂🤣😂
Did y’all take pictures in the Blue Bonnets? (“Y’all”) 😂😂😂
You guys are the best!! I minute I see you have posted I watch!! I just went back to rewatch some of the great yarn you found at DFW!! Yay Jodi for quitting smoking ... that is a HUGE personal accomplishment .... Your Rock Girl!!! Tracie Could you tell me where you got the yarn storage cubical unit behind you?? I'm looking for something like that and don't know where to go..... Thanks!!!
Good nuts are essential. You guys are so silly funny! I can't seem to get any mugs from her...so sad. Already with the yawns Jodie!!! only 11 minutes in! YESssss - so excited for your quitting smoking!!! Yawn away!!! REALLY, my brother has smoked since he was 7 or 8, and he has had throat cancer, but he has NOT been able to quit. I cry for him on that! I cry with happiness for you, your husband and your parents!!!
Love Australia?? Watch the TV series A Place to Call Home. It’s a slightly soapy post-war drama that tackles racism, classism, gender roles, homophobia, etc. Fun seeing the fashion, cars, and designs from that era. I’m from the states and found it on Acorn TV.
Te he . .I never had so much fun watching youtube. . you girls make me giggle. Love Love Love Hue Loco and Sweet Fiber Yarns! Thank you for the updates. Now I must get my socks finished so I can enter your April Sock Bash! Wo woooo! ~Sweet Loo Loo
Congratulations for quitting Jodi! Loved seeing you girls in person at DFW!!
you guys are fab! my mum and I love watching you! However we are both a little puzzled as to why you charge is USD and not Canadian currency since you are... Canadian. Can you explain why you chose to charge this way? Thank you!
Jodi, congratulations on quitting smoking! That is really huge after 20 or 30 years of smoking. I only smoked for a year and a half and it was hard to quit. You guys are amazing sweater knitters. I'm finally (I'm afraid to even say it) successfully knitting my first sweater. I hope I didn't just jinx it lol. Tracie, your sock patterns are so gorgeous. The one you showed today is amazing and I'm so happy to see kits for them. I hope you guys have a great Easter if you celebrate it. I'm so excited to have my whole family together again after my son had to be out of town for work on Christmas. We all missed him so much, it really affected the atmosphere of our dinner. Fun episode as always. Until next time.
So happy y'all had a great time in Texas. Yes our bar-b-que brisket is the best. When we go up to the Adirondacks my husband smoked brisket for 12 hours as part of our neighborhood 4th of July party. of the 30 pounds we smoke most if all is not gone. Love the yarn you found and living in Houston I had no idea how many makers were around. There are no yarn shops in Houston so I thought it was a desert....appreciate the information.
Congratulations on quitting, Jodi!!! Yay, you! The insomnia is typical for a lot of folks, just so you know...I found that out when I quit & compared notes with other former smokers. The sleep loss does get better, just hang in there, and Good on ya!
You girls didn't mention your sizzle pop class. Just wondering how that went? Love Knit Graffiti and was hoping you guys would be rocking your pops!!!
Hi ladies. I know you likely didn't mean any offense, but the way jodi said double xl, like it was a bad word, was hurtful to those of us who are plus sized. There is a discussion in the fiber community on Instagram about size inclusion and how we all need to do better, increasing sweater sizes, having plus size people model things, other then plus size sweaters, etc. Please be more considerate next time when talking about sizing. Thanks!
my mother died of lung cancer at 49 YO. I was 20. She was a long time smoker who had quit smoking five years before her diagnosis. Please Please please make sure you get a lung cancer screening every year, as the number two cancer in women is lung cancer (regardless of smoking history), and being a smoker, you are at a higher risk.
I just finished my Autumn League Pullover!!!
Just when I thought I couldn't love you girls more, you talk about coughing and peeing your pants all day (been there!), kegels are bullshit and a big old finger to that's what I think about kegels! Hahahahaha, another great podcast!
Straws! So I have wicked sensitive teeth and love a straw. I recently bought one called finalstraw- finalstraw.com/ it is stainless steel BUT IT HAS SILICONE ON THE ENDS m. So it’s soft and doesn’t taste funky, and it folds up into a little case so you can throw it in your purse. That’s all, love you guys - I want to see a picture of the nut guy 😂
I just have to get the Hue Loco Rusty Rainbow and make a sweater. I'm thinking it would be great to use those colors on the back and then do a plain coordinating color in front. You would wind up with business in the front and party in the back. Thanks for sharing your trip.
So as a smoker, I know what it's like to quit. My body hated me for a long time. I also couldnt sleep for months. I actually started smoking again and honestly havent been able to quit again because I'm so worried about the not sleeping thing. I had to use medication to help me sleep. I hope your sleep comes back soon and easily!
Hello Ladies, You were recommended as a must watch podcast in the brand new podcast Knit Cafe I have really enjoyed your podcast and will continue to watch and join you Rav Group Thank you!
That Green makes your eyes just glow. If charcoal and forest green had a baby.....😍😍😍
Beautiful sweaters! Congratulations Jodi on quitting smoking! Jodi, our body looses its natural melatonin as we mature . If you take a melatonin supplements ( you can get it in the vitamin section of a health food store) before going to bed it will help you sleep and when you start to get back on track with your sleeping pattern, you can stop the melatonin. Good luck 😉
I always wonder how you would sterilize the stainless steel straws. Seems like it would be a germ farm to me. Paper straws are fine. I grew up with them. There are different qualities. I believe they have to be waxed. If they aren't waxed, that's when they would get soggy.
It was months ago now, but congratulations on quitting smoking, Jodi! I made an entire cable-knit sweater one time I quit smoking; can't smoke when your hands are busy knitting!
What about a Mini KnitAlong?
I had no idea you were a smoker Jodi! Good for you for quitting! I’ve got to do the same! Im sorry I hugged you at DFWFF after I had just finished a cig. 🙃
I live close to Hue Loco. If you come to Colorado please let us know! We have two guest rooms and dove chocolate! My husband went with me to check out her new store and "made" me buy two of her chicken sets because I had a hart time deciding.
Hi girls, a simple question, do you knit socks on a single knitting needle? I have never knit one before, but all the yarn that I just saw on your video, makes me want to try making one pair! What is the best yarn for beginners for knitting socks and what is the easiest pattern too learn ? Thanks 😀
Kegels are not always the answer! A pelvic floor physiotherapist could help you so much. Seriously!
Try the final straw!!! It’s awesome! It has silicone type inside so you don’t get a weird flavor and you don’t have metal hit your teeth!
Jodi, Did you knit the Autumn League Pullover in the round? I noticed the directions say to do each side separately and then seam them together. I just ordered yarn for it and would rather do in the round.
Where is the mug from in the yarn cubby in the background? Thanks!
What is the bandana pattern ??? thx in advance . I dont understand your shownotes . what is all pattern names u showed thx ?
Metal straws, mmmmh! There is no way those are sanitary. I mean really...would you use a teeny weeny bottle brush..
Yes please go to Australia and New Zealand as well 😊
carefull with bladder surgery had it done now i have an illial conduit need to talk email me privatly
What does DFW stand for ? I know it is a fiber fest but I just can't semme to find that info.
Try glass straws. Or travel reusable metal with rubber ends That way the metal is not in your mouth
Wabi Sabi in Ottawa carries Brooklyn Tweed yarns and one can online shop now.
Why are you talking inches, we live in a metric country!!!
I liked your short Sox where do you get the pattern sandy from iowa
More money for yarn now that you are off cigarettes!!! Yay!!!!
My favourite straw is to use no straw at all. And I am sure it is the most PC.
Poise pads! ha ha - just went through that cough... sorry
Had to laugh at the end when Jodi says she will never be a yarn dyer. :)
After a super crap day you are a gift!! Thank you for the laughs! I could actually observe my energy changing 😘😘
I would love to knit some of your socks.... goal...
Emu its sound like "eem you" not "ee moo" good try though. 😁😀
Another great episode!! Love you girls!
You guys have Joji's bags!!! What!?!?
Fun video as always! Can’t wait for the next 😁
Where can you get the book making stories?
Your matching sweaters are gorgeous.
