Fantastic video! Thanks to this, a 56 year old lady (me!) was able to do this repair myself and save a costly repair!!! Woot-woot! And I appreciate the comment that stated the dial won't turn until it is all put back together....because I thought I had bought a faulty part at first.

I ordered the switch, but out of the box the dial won’t turn. Is there something that won’t let the dial turn unless it’s installed, or did I receive a defective unit?
It won't turn until it snaps into the back end of the control. I had the same question but sure enough when the two parts snap together it works fine. Lining up the square shaft with the square socket takes a bit of fidgeting. My control came with the dial on coldest so I turned the back cable unit to cold and they lined right up.

why do you say this? Nothing will get damaged? And if you think the car will zap you it wont, its on a 12 volt system, you can literally lick your hand and touch the terminals on the battery and feel nothing.
I did this repair and did not find it necessary to disconnect the battery. You are not exposing any power wires, it's all connectors. As I put the pieces back together I started the car to test each module before I moved to the next. That would have been a real hassle if the battery was not connected.
Go to an auto parts store and get a set of plastic trim tools for less than $20. They are super useful on a job like this. It's the red lever he's using to snap out trim pieces. Try googling the term.

EXACTLY what I was looking for! Thanks for a great, clear, easy to understand explanation.
Beautiful video. Needed to fix this broken control for my 80 year old parents. Worked like a charm
1A Auto has the best repair videos!!
Thank you very much. You saved me time and money on this.
I need to order this part but can’t find it on your site. A link to it would be useful.
Same issue here. Did you find it?
Thank you, Thank You!!! Was able to repair the switch!
Thanks so much for posting this. It was very helpful!
Please is it possible this can be faulty and stuck on a low temp setting thereby affecting ac performance
Cheers for these videos they are great 👍, plus saving me some coin doing it myself
Is it the same process for a 2006 RAV4 that doesn't have dials? My RAV4 has buttons.
On a 2018 RAV4, did I have to take out the Radio to access the Climate Control?
Can I get the link to the product directly?
Great video!

Can you tell me why isn’t my ac not working even though I replaced the ax compressor?
I don’t even find that part on your website ! I need one
+Ariane Mcleo We do not currently have this part available for sale.
How do you get dash part off
Would this be why the A/c Button isn’t working
Thanks for this.

Wouldn’t it be wise to disconnect the battery first?
