Lots of Toyota Yaris have the same problem like mine and yours.... I had the Idea to fix it like your way, i went just to make sure if the way of repairing was correct. Thank you
So, my AC/heat knob stopped working and my mechanic does something twice a year that simply toggles between heat and AC, and he never charges me. I'm trying to figure out what he does, as I don't think it's quite this involved. Great video!
Crazy awesome skills. I cannot do this. I wish I could because I have same issue on my Corolla. Anyone in Riverside Ca. who could do this for me? How much?
OK, I'm a bit stuck. I snipped off that brass coupler and on the left side of the wire, three tiny horse-hair sized pieces are no longer with the rest of the wire. No bueno. That's the first issue. The second issue: I don't think I gave myself enough slack. How much more sheath can I safely cut away before the cable will no longer reach the control panel? I have NO CLUE what I'm doing. I just don't have the money to get this thing repaired...could use some guidance. Perhaps if I trimmed it back a bit and made sure the wire was long enough, I could cut away the frayed bit? Thing is, I don't know how far back it is frayed. It may have even been the cause of the malfunction: three bits of wire may have detached somewhere inside and caused the thing to go "SPROING!" I don't know.
Guys, do not try this by yourself. My cable was exactly damaged like this and I did exactly how this guy repaired the cable but the problem is not because of the damaged cable the problem is that the cable is stuck at one position somewhere inside the dashboard or where the hot/cold air is exchanged. This method damages your genuine cable and doesn't fix the issue so please contact the professionals instead of doing it yourself.
My 09 Corolla’s selector knob was stuck on defog, far right. Traced the pulley cable to “slave” pulley inside dash. This operates a little door. The door has foam rubber seals around its edges. It’s difficult to access. Glue from the seals can flow in hot weather, gluing the door shut and making the selector seem stuck too. I used Armor All on the door edges and it hasn’t stuck since.
The soldering was tough but I was able to fix it with your video, thank you bro🙏
Crazy to find a video like this and it’s exactly what I was looking for, for my brz since they use Toyota’s climate control

رائع عمل مذهل وتصوير ممتاز شكرا
Thank you soooo much!
@lahistech could I get away with just sodering the copper wire and not adding the melted other wire to it?
Solder is the addition of the "other" wire, the solder. So, NO, you can't.
very kewl
