Tbh, I hate when all these positional super-GMs suggest "ideas" that really accomplish nothing but they present them as borderline tactical finds. Naka, as much as I love him, does that a lot, I've noticed. I feel like that's what Jordan has done here. He suggested "ideas" that pretty much just put pieces on nice squares but did nothing concrete, and Magnus nicely refuted that charade.

But it never came to my mind, that if the person does that as well, you can actually play chess with your friend at campfire without having a chessboard. The Chessers Brain is awesome

Basically, you have to defeat Magnus's team, work ethic, lifestyle, training regime, diet, rest and whatmore. If you want to have a chance in defeating him.
It's funny cause he does all this inhuman prep of thousands of lines, and rarely screw up a move, and a peasent like me literally screw up on move 1 by moving the "wrong" pawn forward, and i'll go like, "well, i guess it's free style chess now"
sadly 99.99% of people cannot comprehend how much work goes into preparing for an opponent (let alone a world title match). Us 2200+ plebs spend hours in the very same way, but we are no where near this good or have this kind of work force helping us. Its a crazy world we live in as chess professionals or wannabe chess professionals! Ultimately I would like to say it is fun though... but sometimes I wonder... sometimes you lose and its just agony!!! Good luck to anyone and everyone who is busy prepping :)

Challenge yourself. Try playing a game in your head once a day for 3 weeks. I'm not saying you'll be ready to play in the Candidates, but you might just surprise yourself. A lot of the things people think are beyond them are simply because they haven't tried hard enough.

This level memorization has been observed in a "few" others, who for example, remember the exact weather, and other events in their life for ANY date, going back many years. Quite extraordinary and much of it is developed in childhood and adolescent years IF the person pushes the mind during those years.
@@emilerhard4189 i would guess that there are to many things to remember , sure they could get pretty far with a little understanding but once it gets to gm lvl i think those people would struggle since a gm can get them out of that prep and then outplay them. So they would be good but not Remarkable really. I guess around 2000 elo or so (still a lot but i would guess that that is where you start to also need a lot of understanding to get through the mid and engame)
