I personally think the major problem in Nepalese society is that our country don't have enough MNCs , local manufacturing companies. So, the graduates even after getting job won't be happy as they land up getting job with less pay or poor quality office culture (working beyond office hrs) or both. Even those, who gets good job, starts realizing that , the inflation is skyrocketing, and they are not able to save more. If you have a good job, in your whole life, you will buy one house, one car, and schooling of your children and few shares. If you can achieve these, then probably you are at the top 5%. But, even after landing job, people leave, may be due to mid-life crisis or frustration. The other problem is that, we don't have good bureaucrats. The same shit lok sewa syllabus, where we don't find sufficient reading materials for English medium. Because of this, let me tell you, those people are able to crack the exam (with due respect) those who have not seen anything in life, trust me,these people who crack loksewa think that they are the best in the country and there is superiority complex. Their vision is that money is bad, but will no stone unturned to acquire wealth illegally. The same goes with business man here in Neoal. Also, I would like to give one example, you know ,why there is no car manufacturers in Nepal?. Not because that the government is not supportive. In India, for the range between Rs 4-25 lacs INR car, the profit per car is like Rs. 28,000 IRS. Why would these Nepalese trader start manufacturing car in Nepal, while they are getting over 5 lacs profit/per car through trading. There is unorganized middle man everywhere, talk about vegetables, the farmers are getting nothing and the middle man are getting everything. I believe the whole system is wrong, not the government. You through votes, can change the government but not the system. The government will get votes in the name of nationalism, hatred and another reason. The government has made India and citizenship, such a big, thing that no one talks about development. Why not close borders, with wires and put army (with positive notes) and end this India thing done. No, politicians will dare to do, because if they do, there won't be any issues for asking vote. Also, I find most Nepalese are the slaves of their own ideology, that is they will vote only those, who ideologies align with theirs, not the deserving people. Example,How can mafia win the election in Nepal? Its It's very easy to say, it's easy to do in Nepal, afnai desh ma je Pani garna sakincha. Oh, common, those who have achieved success through starts up are outliers. Fact is 90% strat up fails, don't believe? Just see around you, how many shops and business are closed around you in the last few years. And more over, there are many people, who want to have a good job, not in the start ups, with decent pay, decent life style (two days per week holiday). But jerks Will have problem in having 2 days holiday. The whole world has seen development who had 2 days holiday, and here, our state needs 1 day holiday. Anyway, it's difficult to achieve those benefits in Nepal. This is the fact that those who have gone abroad have made their life easy. In Nepal, this will not stop, Until we have some reformers, who will come, change the system, bring the reforms. Remember,it's not the government,it's the system. I would suggest, every youngester to do your own strength and weakness analysis in terms of assets. The formula is if you don't have assets over 3-5 crore (apart from your house), go abroad or else you will regret. Let say you don't have that much assets and you are doing good job with good pay. One day, you end knowing that your parents will have to go through operation and will require 25-30 lacs urgently. Trust me you are doomed. You will manage anyhow, but your have already exhausted your 5-7 years of your savings. Now you will have to live frugally for another five year to have positive cashflow. The next stage, after that incident is marriage, on on average, I have observed that Nepalese spends around 8-15% of their net worth in marriage. You will do the same. Now you will get married, and and then the next 4-5 years you will again struggle to compensate that expenses. Also, you will have children, the expensive will rise again, once the children completes class 10, the real cash outflow starts.. Realize all these scenario and think. However, one the positive notes, I would say people could manage all these by taking decision tactfully. However, due to the lack of experience most people suffer. For example, in the above example, the illnes could have been hedged against insurance, the marriage expenses could have been avoided. similarly, the child expeneee could have been hedged through some small investment at strat of the job.. Unfortunately, we don't have seniors doing so.

One underrated reason why students after 12 or Bachelor want to leave Nepal is because of over protective parenting culture of our society. Today's people want freedom, that is only possible if you can earn for yourself. It's the main reason why almost all of my friends went abroad after 12. Fact is most of the high school graduates are too young to give a shit about govt. instability, employment opportunities, good universities etc etc. They just want to escape the over protective parenting culture of Nepal. It's true even in your thirties you need to ask for parent's permission for a night out with friends if you live in Nepal.

There are several reasons for this but after coming to the US, I have realized that the number one thing is the economy is way too strong here. What a janitor makes in a month in the US is 1.5 times more than the salary of a new grad MD doctor in Nepal.
The salary that I would have been earning in Nepal per month is not even the cost of a one night stay in an average hotel in the US. At that rate, how will I ever even think of traveling the world and doing things that I really love? I love my country but I don't wanna waste my "golden years" by waiting for our politicians to fix things at the top - I waited long enough, 28 years ...... but it is the same old, same old.
I am definitely not trying to humiliate Nepal but life is too short to wait for our politicians to fix things so that our economy recovers. In the end, we are the children of the world, country is just a boundary. I wanna experience this planet before I am bed-ridden. However, deep down, I really wanna do something for my country when I am capable enough. Most likely, I will get a PR and settle here but I will definitely do everything I can to empower my fellow citizens.

No it just TU and TU alone, it's a joke in the name of University. Any Prestige University Degree can open door that elsewise can't be opened no matter how skilled one is. It's Connections alone is priceless, the direct "OPPORTUNITY" that it can grant the 'few select one' is no different than that of a miracle "Plot Armour".
The problem is TU didn't work hard itself to become a successful University, it became lazy with no ambition leading to this sorry state! TU has whole monopoly, entire country whole youths at its disposal yet it became like this, absolutely ridiculous!
That's why unless it's scholarship, TU degree worth cabbage!

Few years back i had thought like staying in nepal and doing some business better for the country but now i understand my parents are not financially stable to pay my fees for more 6 years and again to invest on my business ! So if i went abroad after 12th taking some loans then in 6 years i would complete my studies with my money and also pay off my loans and having some extra money in hand so i can return back and do something! This is my mindset for now..... i don't know if i make up my mind to settle there which majority of students are doing right now thinking they again have to start from scratch returning to nepal they get afraid of that! At least for IT, I can say that our problem is quota system. We dont have enough graduates due to quota system. As per some IT entrepreneurs Nepal needs at least 100k IT graduates per yr but we only get around 6000 among which half even dont know what to do so remaining becomes 3000. So why would any company or MNC come to Nepal to provide jobs at least for IT sector if there are not adequate graduates? If any foreigner is needed to be provided job here in Nepal it is much tougher than in US. Good colleges dont get enough students as per their capacity due quota which leads to being the course expensive and students being either compelled to study in bad quality colleges or compelled to study abroad. We have great tax law that states 1% tax only for all $ earnings. And as per Rudra Pandey an IT entrepreneur, Nepal can earn billions of $ from IT if it gets adequate graduates. No quota means bad quality colleges would not get any students which forced them to make their colleges better. Plus, the course would also get cheaper as colleges would take as many students as they could. The removal of quota system has seen the improvement of education system upto class 12 as the trend of going Darjeeling, Sikkim, Delhi, etc. for basic education is found to be lost. IT ministry also wrote letter to education ministry to remove quota at least from IT education. I hope something happens even tho I dont have any hopes from this corrupt govt. At the end I again say quota system is the problem at least for IT sector.

not getting job is probably one of the factors but even sad aspect is that youths are losing hope. It's not like people abroad earn a ton of money and get to save it. There are people that live pay check to pay check in US as well but they are happy, why? because the little things like good environment, good air, roads, security, estability all of them determine people's mindset. You go to work and you are all covered up with 'धुलो' because the roads are so messed up, you hear about corruptions on media all the time, people get away with hineous crimes and all these things lead people into thinking "नेपाल मा केई हुदैन".

Your points are absolutely spot on. However I would like to add some observations about the Nepalese society which has also forced this . What I see that in today's Nepalese society its all about how much money you have rather than how you have earned . People give more importance to making money rather than education. As in live in india , here people have high regard for education rather than money.
Also people who go abroad , how many of them actually go to study or are passionate about the course which they are studying. They choose courses depending on which one will get them the PR at the earliest. So they are just trying to make money and get pr . So I don't know how most of them will be beneficial when they come back to their country. So we should not only blame the current government but also the society which has created the pressure of FOMO among individuals.
Until and unless there are intellectual people in the society who have the vision then only the country will become good in the longer term. Nepal needs huge reforms ..

Today I realized that our country is really going downhill with all this because the place at which i am currently doing my undergradute is having problem to find a good maths teacher(We had 2 maths teachers both left after a month or so). A Maths teacher is hard to find nowadays and the level of some of my friends maths is soo poor i wonder how some of them even passed their high school level.
For our Front End Development class a lot of students don't even know how to operate a computer. They are asking how to create a file and how to write html(which i believe is taught from middle school level). What are they doing in IT field if they can't even do such basic task?
Our english teacher is soo bad that he still uses windows 7 and teaches us by reading powerpoint and trying to explain that and if we are stuck somewhere and start asking questions he says that he doesn't know the technical details. Our english book is the same one shown in the video above. How outdated is our education system?
And by god if even they somehow managed to pass their undergrad what are they gonna be like in real life? What are they gonna do in the future? If they become a teacher and teach the younger generations our future is doomed. It might be worse than it was thought to be.
Edit: Also the quota system I mean when I first started to join college they said only limited seats are available and made us to hurry to get admission. Half of my friends are there to pass time. And i know some may drop out in the middle. Even our faculty head said that after 2/3 semester they know who is there to study and who is there to pass time. Doesn't it harm our country's workforce if half the students are not completing their education and because of the quota the one deserving have to go to other faculty.

Could you also shed some light on the mass exodus of skilled manpower, like doctors, engineers, nurses, etc. ? Also how the Nepal government is willingly propagating this exodus of youth abroad, just so they can get a taste of that "remittance tax"..
P.S. Nepal is going to face a huge shortage of doctors and nurses in the coming 5-8 years. Even, reputed and established doctors are flocking abroad..... all the while, the policy makers do nothing to encourage the retention of this skilled man-power... Sahujis and influential doctors are themselves the policy makers and make policies that helps them gain their personal benefits..
