Grabbed one of these following this review and have to say am very impressed with it’s quality for a very modest outlay. Has a good quality feel to it including all the controls. Sound quality is excellent and very clear. Also easy to control the oscillating delay in a creative way. Instructions very clear. Recommend this for anyone looking for an introduction to tape delay without busting your bank account.
The NUX Atlantic Reverb and Delay is amazing. But this I think just seems more appealing and does a similar sound but different. Can this be used as reverb pedal without delay ? I may sell my BOSS DDR-7 though it has other things on it. This Nux pedal seems to have a chorus sound too !? If you could only choose between the Nux Tape Core or the Nux Atlantic, which would you choose ?!?!
I'd give you more than two thumbs up if I had more than two thumbs... I grew up the the old Roland RE-201... all of fifteen & learning how to play live, it was the only device in our rehearsal room that had multiple mic inputs... we thought it was a PA head... sooooo god damn lucky. Great quality demonstration... keep making vids.
Hello Rian Have you a vidéo,to made the pedal with a parametres with a computer, with nux tap echo editor software, because I want to purchasse this pédal, because there are many time a Roland RE 301?thank you for advance All the best Miguel
Hey Ryan, could you expand on the SOS function? Because I can't find much info on it, and I want to know before buying it. How many seconds would you be able to record? Can you overdub limitlessly and erase layers? Can you get the other delay sounds while on SOS? Thank you :)
Nice video. I have the Tape Core. In the manual no explanation about the sos function. Red, orange and green lights flickering and hold function. I have a hard time figuring this out. When does it record and play? And when does it record over the playing track? On yr video i can only see the pedal w no real explanation of function in the description. And yes, really sorry that the looper cannot contain any tape delay from the pedal. Anyway, the Nux is better than the Boss/Roland RE20 and 202
Thank you! I don't think so. I'm not 100% sure though, there might've been a software update more recently that allows more control of the expression pedal but I can't remember that being an option when I shot the demo!
Thanks Ryan for another excellent, in depth review. Being on a tight budget I was trying to decide between this and the TC Electronics Gauss Tape Echo which can produce lovely long repeats with quite convincing tape degradation effects but it's mono, has a significant volume drop and a completely inaudible modulation setting Well the NUX wins hands down AND it's stereo.
Erm…except for the loud intermittent electrical cracking noise (apparently a common fault with this pedal) and the fact that you can really only achieve the longer delays and subdivision head settings when USB'd to a computer - which would be do-able if I could fit a lappy on my board (!) and could actually recall a 'saved' setting on the ONE user preset on the pedal. So (sigh) I'll keep on looking for a tape delay alternative that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I've had the same fault on two of these now, maybe it's a bad batch? I don't know, but it's very disappointing as the NUX Mod Core Deluxe is a fantastic bit of kit.
Wish there was a demo like this for every pedal. Great job showcasing extreme settings as well as musical applications. And no blues licks to boot.

Nux makes amazing stuff. I have their Monterey Vibe and I love it.
He introducido un lfo en el jack de expresión y es fantástico!
Great demo. Thank you!! Is it possible to use the expression pedal of a multifx processor (like boss gt-6) to control the tape core repeats?

@@mvh757 you can loop at least a minute I think with overdubs but no erasing of layers, there's no delay while in SOS

Also, on Sound on Sound mode, it is possible to adjust the loop volume?
Maw_Cohen whats your opinion on it so far? I'm seriously considering it
you sold me this pedal.
Hey man! Nice demo! Are you able to tweak it so the expression pedal controls the repeats instead of time or not!? Thanks :)

Hi,

Hi. I have already made the firmware update via DFU mode. But the editor says "disconnected" all the time. What am I doing wrong ?
Late reply but start the editor AFTER connecting the power and usb connector to PC. Hold bypass switch during power up.

Does it have stereo ping pong delay ?
No but it has reverb when you use the software editor

Please tune up next time.Thought is was the effect, its not. Your either out of tune or your bridge intonation needs adjustment.
