Thanks for epic shoutout! I've been a Wyloch fan for years, so it's really gratifying. I also took your advice. On a retrospective video, you remarked how your intro was way too long for UA-cam, so I cut mine down from 17 to 6 seconds. So thanks for all the great tips over the years. Going to the dollar store to buy hair curlers now!
"Asphaltum? Hardly knew him!"
Welp, that's the pinnacle of the Wyloch's Armory channel right there.
Really slick build though, the cavern definitely came out really slick and the crystals look fantastic. I suppose if you make your ramps too steep you could do a small cross-piece like a toothpick or something to give rungs for the mini to rest against (as long as they aren't too top heavy).
I'm a simple man. I see new Wyloch, I make dinner and watch. Loving those crystals as well!
when you have a shitty day at work, finally manage to go home, turn on the pc and go on youtube to put your mind at rest... and Wyloch puts out a new video! i guess today is a good day, after all.
thanks, not only for the builds, tutorials and your awesome personality, but also for putting a smile on a weary face after a long day. :)
Totally get that. Playing games best therapy
You can't stop me painting the gelees green 👹
Especially since the official art shows that they are green.
I must say, I feel a bit checkmated.
@@WylochsArmory That does make me wonder... what made you think that they're supposed to be clear? Was it the entry in the MM, or something else?
Yeah the "Transparent" ability which makes it unseen, even in plain sight, unless Perception check is passed.
You can easily see green gelatin.
@@WylochsArmory what happens if the walls are also green ^^.
So thank you for a lot of the inspired ideas I'm the kind of person I go out look at things and I feel the inspiration for what I seek the inspiration And then I go home and craft
Love the look of these pieces. Would be great for any mining setting too for sure. Awesome
Loved the UDT idea and you show it off perfectly with the depth of field. I've been wanting to get back into ttrpgs and in person games and just imagine making a dozen platters for different environments. Plus the bonus is you're still making all the scatter terrain and back drops so if for whatever reason you can still do the grand table set up. Maybe plus or minus some floor.
I really like the wood effect and the Crystal's in the walls.
Out of the Abyss is up there with other great campaigns. It took 3 years for my players to finish it, and I built terrain for just about every major confrontation.
All hail the UA-cam algorithm gods! Love the small scatter and modular pieces!
I like PDMs Ultimate Dungeon Terrain. Looking forward to seeing your take.
the Arch Wizard of Terrain building never disapoints :)
Man, your vids are ALWAYS a joy to watch. Thank you SO much for doing them!
Asphaltum. Nice colour! I like the crystals and the caves entrances. Very cool.
This is great. My party is about to head there to warn the deep gnomes of impending doom in my homebrew campaign. Well timed!
love those oozes. never get tired of them.
PHENOMENAL.!.!.!.! That was an AMAZING build, good sir.!.!.!
When I saw the teaser I thought to myself, is that UDT? This was awesome, and a great shout out to the first crafting channel I watched avidly!
OotA is my favourite 5E module. I'm glad you're doing this - its so inspiring
Cool build, I'm definitely doing my cavern walls like that from now on
I just have that feeling that LED fire beetle is, in fact, coming back like the Ghost of Christmas Past.
Can we get Svirfneblin roasting sausages over a crevice of exposed lava?
Excellent build! Thanks for all the great ideas!
Hell yeah! Dungeon Pizza!
+1 Like for including the moment of doubt regarding the glowbugs. A lot of DM's I know give up on terrain crafting because they never ask themselves: "Is it worth it to spend time on this minor detail?"
Hell yeah for the UDT and Dungeon Craft shoutout!
Gave me a good idea for the burlack sacs! :)
You, sir: are a genius! Bravo!
Thanks for sharing!! I learned a ton and I’m excited to craft again
You are such in inspiration , thank you for your efforrt and Good content. Keep up the good work and many greetings from Berlin,Germany.
Oh, I need braziers like that! Time for a trip to the dollar store!
Love the versatility of those modular walls! Gonna have to go check out Dungeon Craft now!
You could have used some fluorescent paint for the fire bugs. Not as bright but quick and easy way to add a little to it.
Great job! I love that you are making things from campaign books. Looking great :D
Wait am minute! You're back! I was really digging your battle reports, and I remember you going on hiatus, or something like that! Glad to see you back! Cheers!
Gotta love that UA-cam notification function. ....in that it does not function.
O boy! This is awesome! Your channel always reactivates me to want to make more terrain when i feel like i've hit a bit of wall, creative wise. Thank you for these!
LOL😂love the humor, great build!
Love it.
The idea for the little bags is awesome !!!
Thank you for your vids man! They're fun, informative, and inspired me to spend a couple days to build my first set of 50 tiles, which I just finished. Excited to plonk my first physical dungeon down on the table soon, and that's entirely thanks to you!
Really nice one. I've got about 300 of those curlers, laying around the house; now I'm thinking "create glowing crystal braziers", using LEDs. Coincidentally, I'm planning an epic cliff wall build, and I'm thinking a modified version of your panel technique may be usable, there. Good stuff
Truly crafty!
Lol. My first character, a Half-Orc Warlock named Ulec, fell on his back from on top of those walls coming in and coming back out. Second time only his Relentless Endurance saved him, lmao.
I recently started some crate terrain pieces using little wooden cubes, like in this video. I got the texture of the crates by cutting little squares of cereal box card stock with triangles cut out of the middle, to create the diagonal support plank effect. It was rather tedious, requiring a great deal of precise cuts. Primed them up, but haven't gotten around to finishing the paint job. (The primer was an off white wall paint + primer that I bought for 50 cents from the hardware store. They sometimes sell surplus tester pots like these in the clearance shelf.)
Nice look and feel to that place. Great ideas to pull from.
All ways fun to see your work my dude
Great stuff friend 👏 👍
Man, that was another great video. Seriously some awesome stuff in there! So imaginative! Love the tunnels! And the oozes were awesome. Great paint job on the black puddings (even though you didn't make them, lol). And that gelatinous cube is amazing!
Mate, this video is epic! What you have created is beyond awesome and I love the way that you create so much with generic dollar store material! Thanks
Great stuff!
Damn near killed 'em!!!!
This looks so cool!
high five on "hardly knew um!"
I always enjoys these videos brings back memories of seeing Time Bandits and buying an A D&D set. I wonder how many people have asked him Do you play D and D?
on the slippery ramps. You could glue some sand and tiny rocky bits for texture .
Why would they be clean if it is a mining area... there should be debris present.
Dry brush the right color. It will provide more friction on those ramps to prevent sliding.
VERY Cool!!!
Kick ass dude!!!
I love minitures. But I gave up on making stuff. No time. I use talespire now. I love it. I've made a whole campaign with towns caves etc with 3d models
I'm going to be running the Rick and Morty adventure soon and the Ochre Jelly was what I had in mind for a creature that's supposed to be 'Sentient Vomit'. Should I put corn in it too? LOL. My husband showed me this and I look forward to trying this out!
It's unlikely that a race who live underground would use woods as a contruction material when they never saw a tree in there life. But i must admit that the final result of this build is totally BADASS and i'm totally gonna stole the firebeetle cage idea.
Check out the source book.....zurkwood is abundant in the underdark. Also Blingdenstone is a major trading site between the surface and rest of the underdark.
@@WylochsArmory Thank you for the info you learn something everyday !!
Could maybe put slats or harsh bumps in ramps to give the minis something to fall against to stop them sliding down ramps that are to steep?
Looks awesome!
7:44 - Walter White back in the business
You can't know too much about Svirfneblin. Too many lies l, Bill. Great work though. Love the verticle use
So cool! I remember Drizzt and Belvar fighting together against monsters on Underdark, from Salvatores books, when heard Blingdenstone and swirfneblin. Deep gnomes FTW!
Definitely have ideas and I'd like to say thank you to you too I opened a booth in April making RPG drain tiles you name it and it has become a bigger success than I thought it would be So much soIs that the local RPG stores advertise me for free Homebrew Forge I haven't had to pay my rent for my booth it pays for itself and I'm constantly maki'm constantly making new things I don't even have a 3-D printer it's all by hand
I love you wyloch my g
When someone breaks into your car for the glass shards instead of what's inside.
.....well that's really freaky. This morning, I found my rear windshield busted to bits. The rest of the car is totally unharmed and nothing was missing so I have no idea how it happened but wow, what a coincidence of a youtube comment.
Crazy. I was just making a joke about your crystal flocking looking like broken glass.
I really like your videos!
Hello! It has an awesome feeling to it! Would you have a guide to create the nice turning table you got there used as the floor of the city by any chance? :)
Yep, it is the video I cited in this video, there is a card on the screen for it
@Wyloch, build idea! Along the lines of the walls here. How about your take on a vertical dungeon with side caves/rooms? Large sinkhole (round) exposes multiple depths below. I'm thinking something like 2 inch foam stacks about 2/3 around with an open center. Side rooms carved out....Characters have to descend....Put the idea in the inspiration deck!
Inexpensive stuff to craft with? Check. Delightful insight into painting and crafting? Check. Dad jokes? Check. Solid overall.
PUDDING!! XD
1 dislike is the (hungry) green gelatinous cube
Isn't 'flocked with crystals' a curse/spell? - Well it should be, Bill, it should be. Loving this terrain it does summon a different aesthetic. Nice work. [btw, did you buy those crystals from Walter White? Just asking for a friend...]
+1 to engagment metrics
👍👍
When you graduate from hot gluing plastic jewels to things and start flocking with real crystals.
Wiloch!!! Did I make those black ooz the same? They look so nice!
Also BTW I have used that Julinda's Gauntlet one off about four times now over the years. Thanks to you sir!
It's the underdark... where did the wood come from? 🧐
Great work tho... 😁
It is zurkwood. Giant mushrooms whose stalks are wood-like. Give 'er a Google - zurkwood
AW!!!! Me and my players just got through Blindenstone!!!!! WHY???!!
I'm revisting OOTA for a new campaign; do you have any suggestions for dueregar, derror or deep gnome miniatures?
If you're using a very smooth wooden stick for your ramps, it may not have enough static friction to keep a mini on it. I'd roughen them with some sandpaper used crossgrain to increase their static friction coefficient. That should fix the sliding off issue.
I've used the glue and pebbles trick to give some texture to a piece, but oftentimes some of the rocks come loose (either in my storage or on the table). Does this happen to you? If so, how do you fix this issue?
Also, THANK YOU! Gelatinous cubes are CLEAR! STOP PAINTING THEM GREEN, PEOPLE!!
Is the crystal flocking the drugs that Walter White cooked in Breaking Bad? 🤔😂
Assfaultem’? I hardly knew him! Roflmao!
Pudding King? You mean Bill Cosby?
I will not stand for this green Gelatinous Cube slander!
I'm surprised you didn't call this... "blinged in jewels" It's kinda your thing :)
