If you like China's voice (Uma's actress), you will be interested in knowing that was on another Disney when she was younger. The show was called A.N.T Farm and basically she played a genius in music who went to a special section of an high school where all the students were genius. And she was very young, like beginning of middle school? She was in competition with an older girl who was jealous of her talents and the songs slayed! I think the most famous one is the reprise of Dynamite by Taio Cruz (it has 100M views on UA-cam), but all the other songs were originals! China also has a group with her two older sisters, Thrii and they reprised the Halloween song of the show! The sisters were also in some episodes of A.N.T Farm where they played famous stars! The show was definitely good and even younger China was an amazing singer!
@@ElizabethMidfordHatesCops I JUST looked it up. Still like the OG (I'm more on the EDM side of music), but the fact that she did a cover of her own song as an adult WITH her family is just too awesome.
I love the fact that both of Mal's Parents are play by Brodway Monsters and it shows, they slay. I mean, Kristin Chenoweth as Maleficent and Cheyenne Jackson as Hades are both so fun and amazing, and also have amazing duos with Dove. I just love them.
One of the funniest things about Descendants 2 is that Harry's eyeliner slowly builds up over the course of the movie. At the beginning he barely had any and by "It's going down", near the end of the movie, he has excessive eyeliner.
Chenowith was actually the main lead in wicked i believe if not one of the two main leads because of Elphaba aka idina mizel (might have spelt her last name wrong)
The man from the second video was also in a show called "Julie and the Phantoms" and his singing from there was amazing. The show also has many other good songs you would probably like.
I haven’t watched the whole vid yet but unlike Ever after High, I’m pretty sure descendants isn’t based upon the kids becoming there parents. Though some do take the roles, they aren’t aiming to be put to sleep for years like Snow White or anything, and the parents are the originals from the story’s :D

Please listen to Julie and the Phantoms music! The show was by Kenny Ortega who was the director of Descendents and HSM. One of the songs won a daytime Emmy and it is the greatest injustice that Netflix cancelled the show.
Mathew I’m telling you if you’re loving the songs in Descendents I have a feeling you’re going to love Julie And The Phantoms it was also directed by Kenny Ortega, the songs are Amazing and Cheyenne Jackson (The guy who played Mal’s father) also played the villain in Julie And The Phantoms and has some really great villain songs
Uma's actress used to be the protagonist of an old disney show called "a.n.t farm" and the show had amazing songs, she was really young but her voice was already amazing, i really recommend the song "calling all the monster" its still a bop till this day
They are all honestly vocal beasts. Most of them have done Broadway. Also, Harry (the dark haired pirate) is the son of Captain Hook. So hes supposed ro be a touch unhinged.
I'm so glad you're such a fan of China's voice. She did a lot of singing in her show a.n.t. farm which was about her being a singing prodigy. Calling all the monsters is an absolute banger
Part of why Maleficent is so camp and show-tuney in Evil Like Me (besides being hilarious) is because the actress is none other than Kristin Chenoweth! Probably best known for being the original Glinda in Wicked on Broadway, she is an icon and I genuinely love her as Maleficent. Plus, I feel like theres some Wicked callbacks in this specific performance! Also I need to second you listening/watching Julie and the Phantoms!!! ITS WORTH IT
There's also a second part to "It's Goin' Down" (it takes place a minute or two after the first part ends) and Uma's note at the end of it is undoubtedly the best part of the song
Both hades and maleficent are both broadway royalty, maleficent (Kristin Chenoweth) was the original Glinda in Wicked, and if you love hades voice you’ll love Julie and the phantoms, it was directed by Kenny Ortega who also directed descendants and high school musical.

Dove Cameron plays as Mal in all the movies she's always singing really good in all the disney movies she's been in. Cheyenne Jackson was the one who played as Hades as well in Descendant's 3.
Since you liked Cheyenne Jackson's voice i highly suggest reacting to songs from Julie and the Phantoms. It's also directed by Kenny Ortega and lots of the songs hold up as actual radio songs.
If you Like Cheyenne’s (Hade’s- Mal’s Dad) vocals I highly recommend reacting to Julie and the Phantoms songs he plays the main villian in that show and his vocals are absolutely insane. the show is also written by kenny ortega, the creator of high school musical and descendants

Dove Cameron played double lead on the show Liv and Maddie as twins. One twin was a famous singer and actress, so she's had a lot of solo songs from that alone, including the theme song.
I love that you listened to Evil Like Me and Do What You Gotta Do back to back because i really love the contrast between those two songs and what it shows about Mal's character development and her relationship with each parent. Kristen Chenoweth, who plays Maleficent in the first one, played Glinda in the original production of Wicked on Broadway. That's why she sounds like Broadway (and sounds 'good') 😊
The thing is the song with mal and hade is emotional he’s explaining he left because he didn’t agree with the decisions her mom was making and that he would have taken her with him except his father was a terrible parent and he worried he would be too in his mind being a parent from the shadows was his in his opinion protecting her and that part of the reason he’s evil is his dad which is why he says can’t you see your just like me because nether wants to be like their parent but finds it hard not to he Also implies he watched her grow up just hid in the shadows protected her and tried to be a good father even if she doesn’t know he’s also trying to point out they both have terrible dads and he wants to get to know her more and she’s welcome if she wants to try the spin was also a hug
I don’t know if Mathew caught it - but Kristin Chenoweth plays Maleficent. Chenoweth is probably one of the biggest broadway stars, so having a showtunes style number as her song makes total sense
You should listen to Space Between, Ridiculous, and Ways to be Wicked. Dove Cameron also did a cover of Genie in a Bottle as Mal that wasn't in the movies but was really good. Honestly, you should listen to all of the songs from Descendents.
If you want to hear more of Uma's actress, China Ann McClain, She was a main character on ANT farm, a show about a school for prodigies. China's talent was music, so there's plenty of songs! Also, Mal's actress, Dove Cameron, has her own music. She was also the star (or stars) of a show called Liv and Maddie, thought I don't remember how many songs were in that. It's really fun to watch and hear your reactions to songs and shows I grew up on and practically know by heart!
The actor of hades also plays and sings in julie and the phantoms. Idk if you have reacted to songs of that show but the songs are worth it if you have not reacted to it yet
Added context: Evil Like Me is sung by Kristin Chenoweth who is a broadway actress, the role she's best known for is Glinda the Good from Wicked hence why they made her song broadway-like. The second song's context isn't much since he's right about their backstory, but about the TikTok sound, yes it was used on a few but that's what happens when people who use TikTok to make memes or videos that use movie audio grow up with these movies. I learned to not be surprised anymore. For It's Going Down, it takes place a while after Chilling Like A Villain. The king was kidnapped because Uma's gang realized who he was and they're using him as ransom. Even though they're all villain kids, Mal's group don't see themselves as entirely evil, having chosen they want to be good, and even then they had beef with Uma's group before they chose good. The best way I can really describe the two groups' relationship is they're rival gangs. Context for If Only, without too many spoilers, is that it's the first movie, and Mal's having second thoughts about an evil plan she came up with to help Maleficent that she's currently in the middle of, and she's fallen in love with the king. Also, yeah, Dove Cameron's voice definitely suit songs that have high notes more than raps in my opinion. The differences can clearly be seen in the songs you watched in this video. Again, I recommend watching the movies.
Something I noticed that I love is that for the pirates, they’re all fairly colorful but the colors are washed out and greyed placed against a grey, dreary background meanwhile both Uma and Harry are wearing very bright colors against the same background so they really stand out amongst the other pirates, I love that
those of you that don't know, Maleficent is played by Kristen Chenoweth. She is a broadway legend and Evil Like Me was written for her voice - it matches her style perfectly and i love it hehe

You should really listen to julie and the phantoms. Its a show directed by kenny ortega (who directed these movies) and has quite a few actors from these movies as well. The songs are phenomenal and the show overall is amazing
I gotta see Matthew listen to calling all the monsters by China Anne McCLain (Uma) because it’s literally the best song to come from Disney in the last century
its so so fun to see you be baffled at the vocals because honestly? every time i listen to do what you gotta do, my first instinct is to go "oh they held cheyenne back on this one" cause that man can go *wild* 😂 so its so neat to see how stunning he is even when not going full throttle. in general, all the singers have fantastic ranges/voices that they sometimes feel just truly underutilized in the descendants movies, which just makes seeing someone hear them for the first time and appreciate their talent still even more fun :DD
4:40 To be fair, there's a later joke from Maleficent about Fairy Godmother playing with eggplants (referencing turning the pumpkin into Cinderella's carriage) , so it probably was in the script.💀
If you like China Anne McClain's voice she does a music video called calling all the monsters but she actually also has a newer version with her sisters singing too and their group is called Thrii and I actually prefer the newer version even though her vocals are still good in the older version.
So not necessarly a masterpeace But I love ''one kiss'' from the 3rd movie No spoiler but its the daughter of the evil queen...singing about having to kiss someone that is under the sleep spell (yes similar to how Snowwhite was put to sleep!) And you know...true lovs kiss... Its cute!!! I love her voice!! Hope you react to it!♡
LISTEN TO JULIE AND THE PHANTOMS SONGS!!! I love Wake Up, The Other Side of Hollywood (which Cheyenne Jackson, the male singer in Do what you gotta do, sings, he’s also in…), Nothing to Lose, and Unsaid Emily (this one is so friggin emotional with the context of the show being abt Julie Molena, a teen girl in 2020, and her ghost band from 1995?
Glad you did more songs from descendants this was my favouraite movie series other than
Z O M B I E S
He needs to react to Zombies songs, they’re honestly my favorites
Yessss
@MathewMcKenna Ok but you NEED to listen to The Prince of Egypt Movie soundtrack! Especially Deliver Us!
AGREED!!!!!!
I don’t know if Mathew caught it - but Kristin Chenoweth plays Maleficent. Chenoweth is probably one of the biggest broadway stars, so having a showtunes style number as her song makes total sense
I'm so glad Andrew was there! I love this! If you wanna watch more songs...
You should listen to Space Between, Ridiculous, and Ways to be Wicked. Dove Cameron also did a cover of Genie in a Bottle as Mal that wasn't in the movies but was really good. Honestly, you should listen to all of the songs from Descendents.
Yaaaaaaasssss i'm so happy you're back with more descendants reactions🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
If you want to hear more of Uma's actress, China Ann McClain, She was a main character on ANT farm, a show about a school for prodigies. China's talent was music, so there's plenty of songs! Also, Mal's actress, Dove Cameron, has her own music. She was also the star (or stars) of a show called Liv and Maddie, thought I don't remember how many songs were in that. It's really fun to watch and hear your reactions to songs and shows I grew up on and practically know by heart!
one of my fav songs from the movies is space between…such an emotional and amazing song fr
The actor of hades also plays and sings in julie and the phantoms. Idk if you have reacted to songs of that show but the songs are worth it if you have not reacted to it yet
Added context:
Evil Like Me is sung by Kristin Chenoweth who is a broadway actress, the role she's best known for is Glinda the Good from Wicked hence why they made her song broadway-like.
More Descendants! And from the thumbnail there will be Evil Like Me, I love Kristin Chenoweth's voice!
Something I noticed that I love is that for the pirates, they’re all fairly colorful but the colors are washed out and greyed placed against a grey, dreary background meanwhile both Uma and Harry are wearing very bright colors against the same background so they really stand out amongst the other pirates, I love that
Still desperately hoping he does “The Space Between”! It’s such an incredible song, and it still genuinely makes me cry every time
Evil Like Me is such a good song 😂 Bit of whiplash, but absolutely necessary when Kristen Chenoweth is in the movie 😂
If you liked the voice of the guy in the second song (Cheyenne Jackson) then you'd like his songs in Julie and The Phantoms!
those of you that don't know, Maleficent is played by Kristen Chenoweth. She is a broadway legend and Evil Like Me was written for her voice - it matches her style perfectly and i love it hehe
"no, I'm not being deprived.. I'm being treated to new experiences"😍 Such an underrated outlook and I am going to use that moving forward!🥰🥰 also, thank you! thank you! thank you for always making me laugh❤🥰 Keep being you! and I'm so glad you're in this world❤🥰🥰
12:52 best part hands down, this killed me✋💀
I agree!!!! Queen of mean is dooope
The reason maleficent sounds Broadway is because that actress is the original Glinda in the Wicked Broadway show and does many others as well
You should really listen to julie and the phantoms. Its a show directed by kenny ortega (who directed these movies) and has quite a few actors from these movies as well. The songs are phenomenal and the show overall is amazing
ABSOLUTELY NEED A PART 3
You have to listen to "Until the Night Falls". It’s the only song I would listen to on repeat.
"Space Between" is also a great song from Descendants too. Please check it out.
I need a part 3 please ❤❤❤❤❤❤
So not necessarly a masterpeace
But I love ''one kiss'' from the 3rd movie
No spoiler but its the daughter of the evil queen...singing about having to kiss someone that is under the sleep spell (yes similar to how Snowwhite was put to sleep!)
And you know...true lovs kiss...
Its cute!!! I love her voice!! Hope you react to it!♡
You have to listen to Space Between if u do another one!!
Ive quickly developed such a crush on you from your reactions. Its just so jovial and refreshing and makes me smile.
I love all these songs from these movies and I love you even more for watching them❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Ps: Evil like me was written over a weekend
LISTEN TO JULIE AND THE PHANTOMS SONGS!!!
I love Wake Up, The Other Side of Hollywood (which Cheyenne Jackson, the male singer in Do what you gotta do, sings, he’s also in…), Nothing to Lose, and Unsaid Emily (this one is so friggin emotional with the context of the show being abt Julie Molena, a teen girl in 2020, and her ghost band from 1995? I forgot lol it’s SO SAD THO AAAAAA)
Alr ima go cry now that I’m thinking of UNSAID EMILYYYYYYYYYYY
I've been waiting for this😁...more descendants and barbie plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz😩
I think this is the earliest I've been on your channel in literal YEARS
How did all these villains have kids when most of them died in their stories? Their partners make no sence either
I think it was never said the stories of the villains play out the same as the originals...
