  • Tuning the new Civic Type R on Hondata FlashPro! Welcome our latest project car, 2023 Civic Type R. We have so much to share with you all in regards to this channel (Originally named, Ososik Media). We will get to that in a later video but trust us, it's going to be even better!
    Hondata finally released a Jailbreak solution for the new Type R and FlashPro. So Daniel (Powermetric.net) and Nick (aka Ososik) put the car on the Mustang Dyno and started tuning.
    From baseline to Hondata's 91 octane preset calibration to a Powermetric Stage .91 tune & custom (preliminary) Ethanol (E40) tune! This car rips and aside from the FlashPro/Tuning, it's all stock!

    Thanks for these vids. I traded in my 23 Si after seeing the issues that you were able to find. Picked up a 24 Type S and as is from the factory she is wonderful.

      You're welcome. We realized sharing our 10th gen Si and how much HP it makes etc gave people "false Hope" (although we always said it's not easy and it's far from stock). It's amazing what we've been able to accomplish with the 1.5L engine but at the end of the day we understand Honda did not create it for the reasons we are using it.

    Been following your vids because I was thinking of getting an 11th gen Si in addition to having my 8th gen.
    I think I'll just skip the 11th gen Si and go for the Type R or Integra Type S.
    I just feel from a tuning standpoint and the driving experience from my 8th gen I'll be a bit disappointed going to an 11th gen Si.

      I ended up getting an 11th gen si because I already have a big horsepower truck that I use for messing around. If you want a daily that you dont plan on racing etc. get the si. But if you want a showoff/weekend car def get the type r and skip the si. The thing with the si is that its a perfect combo of decent handling, decent power, and superb fuel economy. I get 44 mpg on the highway at 70.

    I'm happy you got a type r, but why don't you ever break in the motor?

    • @thefoatmedia
      @thefoatmedia  Рік тому +1

      We always recommend to break in properly etc, but our situations different. 1: it’s stock & we don’t have time to waste. 2: we have goals with all of our project cars, and it almost always consist of building it (full send). So it all gets torn apart/rebuilt anyway.
      We have spares and parts just waiting to be installed.

      Looking in the user manual there is no break in period for the civic, no 1000km oil change, nudda

    • @thefoatmedia

      There’s some factors to consider, for example the temps were 80+ and depending on the dyno they will read differently. We will release a video about that soon. That’s why it’s best to always use same dyno and eliminate as many variables as possible (do back to back test).

    • @Eugen-E
      @Eugen-E Рік тому

      @@thefoatmedia I assume Honda uses an engine dyno which directly measures the power of the engine.
      And as far as I know the Mustang Dynos are the ones that read the most accurate.
