50 and 51 years ago my high school was invited to play with the U of M marching band on band day and i was chosen to play my snare marching drum with their drum core .... my oh my there is nothing like being in the Big House let alone have 100,000 plus people cheering for you . What a wonderful honor to be picked !
Gives me the feels every time. Is there anything better in college sports then an autumn afternoon at the Big House with a hundred thousand fans cheering and singing along with the U of M Marching band ?
I was at that game!!!! I was in section 17 row 60 (been in those seats since 2006, and my father has had them since the 90s). The band sounds so much different when you are up close, but it sounds so awesome! (Awesome flyover too!) GO BLUE!
When I was in the marching band, at EMU, we also marched this way. Had to keep up with our "neighboring band" at U of M. Precision marching at it's best.
Show em how it's done U OF M Marching band!!... that's was me!!!! Had such a great experience with my friend that day. At the end of the game, I got handed a pair of gloves from one of the players.
They’re saying “LEFT. LEFT. LEFT.” to make sure everyone is stepping on their LEFT foot to the beat. The marching band is literally running onto the stadium so every beat they shout LEFT.
I teared up watching this. My late father was in the Michigan Marching Band, including the 1948 Rose Bowl! MIss you, dad!

That clarinet part is awesome.
Great fight song and they fumble less than Harbaugh.
Well put. I’m an Ohio State fan and I completely agree with this. The band is light years better than the football team.
My sons are on that field! :)
Chills
Great video, but...why didn't we see the drum major touch the turf on the back bend?
Those legs
Muito bacana.
Where is Jarvis Islington?

If you listen to them run out yelling (Left, right) What ever direction you think about they say
They’re saying “LEFT. LEFT. LEFT.” to make sure everyone is stepping on their LEFT foot to the beat. The marching band is literally running onto the stadium so every beat they shout LEFT.

Wow, Ohio State has a far better band.
No
Enjoy the talent and pageantry....traditions etc......these people put a lot of time and effort into this...regardless of the school.
That's debatable, but Michigan clearly has a far better football team!!
Also debatable, although both have proven to be very good in their own right. Probably why they’re rivals
