Exactly. He rarely ever uses anything other than strength and speed. If I recall correctly, he used his freeze breath once in the entire series when he and zod fought metallo and his microscope vision once too.
I think in that very same episode, he also used it to make Seattle colder. I thought that was entirely pointless by the way. I mean what do Clark and Zod have to gain from making 1 city in 1 state just a little colder? It’s like the writers were just checking a box with all of these powers. I’d like to think the next meeting of the smallville producers went something like this: “Okay, we got Clark using his superbreath, but you know what would be even better? Let’s put 2 instances of this power in the same episode instead of just 1. The audience will never see it coming.”

I thought Lex and Chole could be a couple but no. All romances that meant something had to go to Lana. Then they threw Chloe fans a bone with Oliver that was so forced.

One of my favorite episodes. It's so great to see that Clark can finally be himself around someone else other than his parents (and pete). I think Chloe is a real positive influence on clark.
I really like it when he first tells Chloe that his "big news" was that he sneezed and she didn't believe him until he unleashed "hurricane clark" in the news room 😂
love how she never has clark use his abilities for personal gain. i mean yea he does tiny things for opportunities like change the fucking weather but clearing rainy clouds isnt a big thing. i mean if he does it too much then well a lot of plants will die so he might wanna be careful with that one. but smallville is one of those origin stories that are just nice to watch. now we got all this political bs and poor ass story telling directors making all this trash lately. wish we would go back to the days when things like smallville, merlin and all the others like them were just fresh new and was only focused on the story and nothing else.

I really loved Clark and Chloe's relationship (Friends to briefly dating to Super Best Friends) throughout the entire show. It's just sad what happened to Allison Mack in real life. It would have been great to see her on one of the Smallville reunion panels.

Question. With Clark's super breath being about having a super lung capacity doesn't that mean if you are next to him as he breathes in for one you should feel the pull of him sucking in all the air? Like shouldn't he be able to pull things towards himself that way?
It's very likely because as he grew up from a small child to maturity, his powers were never fully realized. He never knew the extent of what he was capable of. Notice how if Chloe hadn't told him anything he wouldn't have known that he had such an insane lung capacity. It's clear that his super abilities have adjusted to what he only knows growing up in Smallville when in reality, his abilities far exceeds his imagination.

I love the episodes when Clark discovers a new ability. This one with his super breath is one of my favorites. I especially love the end scene where Clark blows the storm clouds out of the sky so he and Chloe can go swimming.

Not trying to defend her by any means but she joined in 2010, which would've been Season 9 I think. Also, supposedly (as is common in cults) the organization sort of worked her in gradually. So she possibly didn't do anything like that until after the show. I like to think that's the case. I'm trying my best to separate Chloe from Allison because Chloe was such an incredible character and I'm emotionally attached. I was truly devastated when I heard the news about her.

You would think that Super Breath and Super Hearing would be one of the first of his powers to develop, but no. It takes a Kryptonite blast to the eyes to activate Clark's super hearing, and super breath was the last to develop as if the writers forgot it was one of Supe's powers.
Later in the series he uses his "micro vision". In a scene with Chloe, he zooms in on writing and reads it then explains how he did it when Chloe's got the"how the hell did you do that?" Look on her face lol. He called it micro vision if i remember right. And this also is if this was after this episode. Would have been after season 5. This ep is the premiere, cleaning up Zod's mess named "Sneeze".
Why would you think that? ..I would assume his powers would activate randomly.

I think they may have developed. He just never used them. Think of it this way.
He can see through walls, ages away. He can look out for you regardless of where you are. If he's focusing on his eyes, he's not focusing on his ears. What does it take, to get someone with like 3 or 4 different eye powers, to leave the eyes alone for a bit? Becoming blind. Almost the instant he becomes blind, and actually starts using his ears actively, and not just passively, the power just happens to already be there? I don't think so.
Same with his breath. As he says, a sneeze is a reflex, one you cant control. Simply breathing is easy. You take in as much air as you need, and that's about it. It isn't until you sneeze, that you take in A LOT of air. More than you need. And the instant he's sneezing, his power, once again, is already there.
It would be a MASSIVE coincidence to claim both of these powers just happened to activate the moment that being active would be the most noticeable. Far higher chance that both powers were already there, just, he had not actually used either of them yet.

Enhancements like that are a dealbreaker and distraction I couldn't see past. She may as well have grown a moustache. Others, including the showrunners, disagree of course.

Sajirou Plays I actually think it fits this version of Clark I mean Smallville was more about Clark being Clark not Superman. In a way it makes sense for the character all he ever wanted was a normal life so that is what they gave him.

I think its the effect that is shown. It looks powerful slowed down but when he's in the barn with her and he just breathes in normally he pulls in the air he needs. He's not removing all the air in the room.
