Funny thing though, this game is from a European developer. It's from the guys who made Legend and Nightmare Busters on the SNES. It really should've been released in the west. Rendering Ranger aswell!!
So for everyone who thinks this game is too difficult, here's a tip: The difficulty is 'switched' in the option menu, meaning that easy is hard and hard is easy. When you choose hard, you get 2 extra lives and the AI is more forgiving. Hope it helps

I tried this one yesterday (on a emulator, I confess). It's really tough, but you can select any stage you want. So, it's like you have unlimited "Continues".

You can select stage in the prototype only, not on the final Japanese game.
it's a lot like the Punisher for Genesis. maybe a tab better. fun game. the enemies are so aggressive, lol

As was hinted at a year ago, Iron Commando is on PC. It's actually been on Steam since 2016. I can't speak to how well the port was made though.
