This is why encryption is a must for everyone, you might think you're not doing anything wrong, but anything can be deemed as suspicious.

You're using encryption as a buzz word, all your messages in a messenger, Telegram, VK in case of russia, are encrypted and aren't sent as plain text. To have them actually safe is to use something as Briar but that is just paranoia, even in the hole that is russia you don't expect to become a horrible publicity stunt to show the "greatness of the motherland" the next day, and no one does.
And same reason as Minecraft server logs are stored as plain text, not everyone is paranoid.
Using the levels of encryption you’re talking about only gives reason to be more suspicious about you trying to hide something, though. And the police don’t usually fibd chat logs because of a lack of encryption- they find them by just confiscating your devices, as was done in this story
@@maksiksq you need to encrypt your storage so they need a password to access it (or they need to pressure the developers of those or a data breach happens)
@@maksiksq That is why I encrypt my drives. I use Matrix and Briar for communication. And talking about anything the government might dislike in an unencrypted chat such as Minecraft is just plain irresponsible.
So, yet again, the entire reason as to why this happened was not because it was a genuine threat but because the government is an authoritarian dictatorship and Russia is genuinely not a very great place to live in. I remember when a guy said he would kill another guy in Minecraft, even though he was MILES away from him, posted about it on 4chan of all places and got arrested for it.

You realize what they did qualifies as terrorism and trying to go against the government. Imagine if this happened anywhere else but Russia, you’d be rooting for the government. Oh, but it did happen outside of Russia, many many times. Yet I don’t see you criticizing any other governments…
This goes way deeper than what this guy says in his video. He simply lacks the language skills required to search for actual news articles in Russian or even better, telegram groups that leak everything. Because if something like this happens in Russia it *will* get leaked.

thank you so much, as a distant friend of one of the persons involved and the one who did part of the investigation about the true cause of the case back then I appreciate that you covered this absurd topic. Russia also had several cases of banning websites that explained the crafting process of minecraft TNT block, like wikia and forum posts, and terrorism-ish accusations for the kids who posted such things, even though I don't oppose such politics for apparent reasons that's not absolutely clever considering there's no gunpowder-dropping creepers in Russia

Haha, thanks man! I use plugins for that - CitizensNPCs is what I use for the NPCs, and if I'm playing as them, I use HaoNick to rename/reskin myself and record with ReplayMod
