Why not use a DAC cable for uplink instead of SFP to Ethernet? Cheaper and lower power usage.
Yes I could, however the DAC cable would still have SFP+ connectors on each end wouldn't it. Plus I have struggled in the past to find a very short DAC cable which looks neat & tidy, I've ended up with excess cable loops with DAC cables, anyone know of very short DAC cable suppliers ?
@@MrTimTech2022 it is SFP+ but it’s passive, meaning less power draw which equals less heat and longer life. Ubiquiti sells a 0.5m for $13(I don’t know the cost there). I’m not saying there is anything wrong with your setup, just that for shorter distances, DAC is the preferred method.
The audio is a little poor on this one buddy. Found it difficult to listen to.
@kentish_outdoor2335 - Yes it wasn't up to my usual quality, apologies for this. Hopefully I can improve it on my future vids. So yes I agree and appreciate your constructive comment 😇. I think it was my post editing and maybe interference being next to the cabinet from the wifi mics I used. Will certainly look in to this when on my next recording session!
OH NOOOOOO!!! NOT unifi gear :(.
I guess you're not a fan then 😞? The vids are very popular 😉
