- Hello everyone, and welcome to my first ever playthrough of Heavy Rain.
I recently played Detroit: Become Human and people told me I should give the other Quantic Dream games a go. So here we are!

"Experience a gripping psychological thriller filled with innumerable twists and turns. There's loads of endings to this, you got the good one, enjoyed watching the playthrough, well done by thecway Lizz, you figured it was Shelby before I did when I first played it

Ah yes, the cringe, out of place sex scene, my parents walked in when I was playing exactly that part. Still embarrassed about it, almost 15 years later.
Its not a David "In my games, all women are whores" Cage game without cringey, out of place sex scenes.😅

Yeah, what was that about? They've known each other 2 days, his kid is hours away from drowning, his body is smashed to pieces, but... it looks like she's up for it! Wayhay!!! So weird and out of place. Then he's freaking out and screaming that he thought he meant something to her? After 2 days? When he was out crawling through glass or unconscious from his injuries for 99% of the time? I'd be surprised if he could pick her out of a lineup, to be honest. That bit felt like the game studio forced him to include it, because it was really bad writing and didn't seem to have any place in the story.
@@IcarusDrowning-gz8se That's just David Cages writing prowess. If you think too hard - well, better turn your brain off - about anything in these games it all comes apart.
The guy _really_ likes his sex scenes and has some choice opinions about women.

I am glad my prediction was wrong because, as I said, that would have been so cliched to turn the story that way. I didn't really suspect the real killer until it became obvious in this episode. What a great game, though. I thoroughly enjoyed watching that. Thank you so much for struggling with the insane controls and bringing me the end of a game I was never going to be able to complete. Great playthrough.
Nathan's blackouts and mystery origami needs some explanation, I agree.
It's a cool twist but feels strange in hindsight because you make decisions for Scott that he wouldn't make himself. Since Quantic Dream is a French studio, I'm pretty sure that the movie "Vidocq" (or the person the movie is based on) was a huge inspiration for his character
@@FlashheadX Thanks. I'll have to look up "Vidocq" as I've never heard of it before but it sounds like it might be interesting.
As for making decisions for him that he wouldn't make himself... I'd have to watch it again, knowing his real identity this time, but maybe you could think of yourself as playing his conscience? He's always inexorably heading toward his goal, but his conscience keeps prodding at him to do some good things along the way? He never would have taken the kid's mother with him, I suppose, but we made that decision for him. Maybe it's one of those things he tags as, "against my better judgement". lol It might not make sense so I'd have to watch it all again to see if it can fit like that, but it would be pretty neat if it could.
I’ve always liked this game but now i LOVE IT. Hell yeah.

I liked this game a lot when I first played it, and I'm glad you got a good ending... there's some really dark endings that can happen for some of the characters. Some of the worst ones being Ethan hanging himself in prison if he gets arrested by Blake and nobody saves Shaun, or Ethan shooting himself in front of Shaun's grave if he dies. It's crazy how dark some of the endings are, especially for Ethan.
The absolute worst ending you can get is where the guy in the shop dies to the gunman, Lauren dies, clean all the evidence in Manfred's shop, Scott kills Jayden at Blue Lagoon during the fight, Madison burns to death in Scott's apartment or jumps out the window and dies, and ultimately nobody saves Shaun... This is known as the "Perfect Crime" ending and it's the worst ending you can possibly get
Dear god, that's grim!! Glad I avoided all of that.. sheesh!
I've also seen an ending with Jayden where the lets player just missed a few too many qte's on the conveyor belt in the end which leads to Jayden falling unconscious and down into the grinder... Also very dark, considering he nearly had him.
I'm rather fond of the "A Mother's Revenge" ending, where Lauren hunts down Scott herself.
@@marauderdz Yeah, this ending is honestly one of the most satisfying endings since Scott believes he got away with it and is then killed by an avenging mother

In my playthrough Jayden gives up and Ethan and Maddison have a big fight finale with Scott. Also, I drank the poison but didn't shoot the pimp, but the poison was fake. Also Maddison jumps from the building before the explosion. Crap that the fridge saves her. You got lucky Lizz. Loved the playthrough. Your are truly awesome.
yeah I watched the other endings for this game.. I got a good one haha
What made Jayden give up? I also panicked as Madison, but then when I went under the table, I thought of the fridge.

@@LIZZgame Jayden gave up because I couldn't find the right clue for the address location. Actually, if you take too long looking for the clue, Jayden dies from his additction. Your reactions are so funny, and you cried at the end. LOL. You must play Evil Within. It is similar to the Resident Evil games and it's in 3rd person view, which is what we both prefer. ❤
I remember clicking too fast at the burning apartment scene and jumped out of the window. That was awkward. She died.

In the documentary of Heavy Rain, _Cutting Room Floor,_ it was said that there used to be a supernatural element in the game where Ethan and Scott were basically psychically linked, and Ethan would create an origami figure when Scott would claim another victim. This plot point was of course cut later on.
sad! It would at least explain a few things, even if a bit weirdly.

Nice job! I don’t know if that’s the best ending, but it’s certainly in the top 3.
The game is technically not done. I’ve never played it, but there is a short prequel DLC about Madison. I don’t know how relevant it is.
Are you going to play Beyond Two Souls next? Doesn’t seem to be as well liked as the other two, and the actor - Elliot Page - that plays the protagonist has since transitioned. So I don’t know how he feels about this role. There was also a controversy of one of the animators created a fully nude model (not visible within the gameplay) of the protagonist without the actor’s consent, but I think it’s a super interesting story.

Wow that's all kinds of wrong I had a feeling after the whole graveyard scene but wasn't entirely sure. My mom came home from running errands asking me questions so I told her as much as I remembered but damn I still don't get why he'd go through all of that just because he couldn't save his own brother and for him to do that to his own mother wow that's just wow

I just finished a playthrough yesterday and will check out the other endings now haha. I learnt that the poison is fake! So I could've drunk it and still live.. damn it haha. But ah well, I managed.

Quantic Dream released separate video (Heavy Rain: Cutting Room Floor ) reveals that the blackouts were caused by a psychic link formed between Ethan and "Killer" during the accident at the mall. That aspect of story was cut out, but they could not remove all the content. That's why there are holes in the story on these parts.
