New Metal Attic Vent | JIMBO'S GARAGE

- I had a client want me to remake a vent for their attic on their house but make it out of metal instead of wood. You can see in the photo, the old one fell apart. The new one I made will last several lifetimes and turned out great!

"A 16th under a 1/2" that makes more sence than it should....
good on you for NOT turning the job down. You'd be surprised how much of an inspiration it is to other people to tackle a job they are hesitant about. As, primarily, a woodworker, I go thru this all the time.....I hesitate, talk myself out of doing something, procrastinate, etc.... then when I finally do it, it almost always turns out easier and better than I thought. A LOT of the motivation I get comes from watching other woodworkers do similar things or use techniques I can use to adapt to what I'm trying to do. In that regard, UA-cam is a hugely valuable resource.
Another great build, thanks buddy!
Great looking finished product! The screening is perfect; love that perforated stuff.
I used to hang drywall we had to go holler across the house with measurements so if we were a 1/16" over we would say 1 and 3/4 heavy ❤
Same here...1 and 3/4 fat or shy.
That was a quick 12 min... Nice work as always Jimbo.. Take care and God Bless...
Looks good, nicely done. Thin metal and avoiding spatter and minimizing heat input-seems like a good project for TIG instead of MIG? I know that HTP welder will do both processes really well. Maybe MIG is faster for the welding (despite the need to do all the welds in tiny bursts) but TIG could reduce the amount of post-weld finishing, including the grinding/sanding. TIG welds could be smooth or flush enough to require no further finishing.
Exactly why I scrolled down. TIG would be the ideal process for this job.
Nice project,Bet that paid a nice profit that bird screen will for sure keep them out.............................................Fort Worth,Tx
Nice work!
Great video looks awesome 👍👍
Awesome job
The holes should’ve been from the back I reckon before you welded the mesh so no thieves can unscrew it and get in, you’d obviously have to install the mesh on-site by screwing it on I guess, otherwise great finish for first attempt
Nice project and work
In hindsight probably should have tacked everything up first,, I do the same thing! Always an after thought!! Lol but it turned out great!
Nicely done Jimbo! 😃👍🏼👊🏼
Nice work Jimbo!
Looks great
Nice build, love it
Looks amazing, loved the video.
That vent came out very close to the original for sure...at what angle was the "Z" profile made for understanding purposes
Awesome job the top slat could of been higher like in the original and also there's one more in the original then you have in yours but great work keep it up love the videos
Nice catch. The great thing about projects like this is once the old one is out and new installed, the customer is all too happy to have it looking sharp again. They're never comparing side by side, and they're thrilled the new unit is built better than the original.
What kind of black paint do you use on this and gate builds?
What is it 350?
blankes Blech im Außenbereich und Kontaktkorrosion unter dem Lochblech, wie lange soll das halten ? Naja die Amis bauen ja auch sonst nichts was länger hält 😵💫
