  • I made this huge metal gate for the front of a clients house and it involved hundreds of welds, tons of metal and even a little concrete to keep it in the ground. This metal gate must have weighed over 200lbs. Thankfully I had the help of my guys to get it in.

Jumbo , that gate is incredible, and nooo it’s not luck to have it turn out that good, it is your excellent attention to detail that makes your projects turn out so professional. Thanks for the intro on the construction calculator, I have never used one, but it sure looks useful. Again, this home owner could easily winch off this gate ! Very nice. Are those hinges holding up ok?

Great video. I never knew such a calculator existed. I'll have to get one. Looks like your welds have been improving since earlier videos. May I suggest when welding .063 to 1/8" try 17.5 volts and 225 imp. Spend more time on the thicker material. Should work pretty good with a good fit up. Keep the videos coming!

Great work again Jimbo. Lots of good tips. I was surprised you left the lock till last, till I saw you had a pre-made lock box. I have to make mine, so I’ll narrow the depth of my vertical frame for the lock before assembling the frame. One tip for you though Jimbo; try metric measurements. Please. Far more precise and easy to calculate.
