For anyone planning on doing this, one advice. Do not stick directly on to the whatever surface you're trying to lighten up. I have done this and removing it was a pain in the ass, it also left all the glue on the monitor etc. Put some electrical tape on the surface and then the strips.
I think he's something called a console gamer, some say that the console gamers minds are clouded and don't like the arts of the PC, they prefere Macs I always thought they were just a Legend, a camping story made to scare the children but I guess I was wrong, who ever thought you could get someone who doesn't like the PC and like to game a console and use a Mac? I know I never
The result looks nice. To make a neater install, the strip can be cut in particular places (usually marked on the strip with a dotted line) so you only have straight runs to glue on, without bends or kinks. Individual runs can then be connected via some 4-core LED cable (soldering required), there are also (RGB LED strip) solderless connectors available. When you stick the tape on, first wipe the surfaces with some rubbing alcohol or another degreaser and let it dry.
@@Czm64 suggestions for what exactly? Buy a set like that used by the author. Or buy the strip, the controller/remote and the power supply separately. Get some 4 core led cable or led strip solderless connectors (the kind that allow you to change the angle, not just connect them in-line) if you want to follow my neater advice suggestion. All of these supplies can be found on Amazon, eBay, AliExpress and various LED stores
You little genius.... You have inspired me to do this strip lighting on my computer. lol. I only wanted some lights for my keyboard in my dark room, but here I am now. lol. Thanks, Buddy!
The kits you see on Amazon are generally garbage. It's the cheapest tat they can string together. You can source decent RGBW strips for around £1 per meter, and a quality ballast/controller for £5 to £10. There's even controllers that are compatible with HUE, so that it will work with your smart home devices. These kits take advantage of people not having a tiny bit of necessary knowledge, and they massively overcharge for inferior parts.
Why are you so funny. The thing that makes you funny is how you say something like "my life has no meaning" but you don't say it with any expression 😂😂😂 it's quite funny. thumbs up for me 👍🏻
Dude, nice video! Will help further in the future. And so you know, you can solder the older light strips so if you cut it an want to add the cut strip back on, you can. I would put electrical tape around the area to prevent burning. Also, if you remove the strip, you may be able to use glue or electrical to so it stays in it's new spot! Anyways, nice job!
Ghostly Caledonian yes. there are designated orange lines about 3-4 inches away from each other that are on the entire length of the strip that are designed for cutting
Ghostly Caledonian you can't necessarily cut the strip multiple times, but if you do, you have to get more adapters so the other strips that you separated can get power and light up; in other words, you would have to go around the backside of the speakers and not cut the strips if you didn't want to bother with getting more adapters. Basically, just circle the backside of the speaker with the strip so you don't have to spend more money on getting another adapter. It may be a little bit of an awkward position for the strip to bend that sharply but if you get a strip with good adhesive that sticks well you should be fine
Ghostly Caledonian the main reason for the cutting areas on led strips is if they're too long. What I did with my setup is I went on the back edge of my desk with the strip, and when I reached the area where my speakers were (which were obviously in the edge of the desk), I took the strip and wrapped it behind the speaker instead of cutting it, and I did that for the monitor as well plus the other speaker. My strip didn't have very good adhesive so I had to improvise by using clear masking tape but other than that it wasn't very hard.
would I be able to put these under my bed and behind my tv without having a hassle of one cord? could I just stick it around my bed, cut it, then put some around my tv?

Thank you, I was planning on doing it directly onto the desk but I was worried that it would remove paint
Electrical tape would be easier to remove?
Nice Monitor, it'd be awesome if you had a computer and a keyboard and mouse to go with it.

Are you able to cut it and still have it in working order
Ghostly Caledonian yes. there are designated orange lines about 3-4 inches away from each other that are on the entire length of the strip that are designed for cutting
Nate Salkoff so if I cut them and put them behind speakers like you did they would work?
Ghostly Caledonian you can't necessarily cut the strip multiple times, but if you do, you have to get more adapters so the other strips that you separated can get power and light up; in other words, you would have to go around the backside of the speakers and not cut the strips if you didn't want to bother with getting more adapters. HIde WATERPROOF led strips on the underside of the roof
Awesome video man
This video is dope af, question tho, what happens to the part of the led strip that you cut off? Is it garbage?
once you cut it it's useless
HD GADGET So If I needed to use more than one of these I have to plug an adapter into an outlet for each and every piece?
yes
No it is not useless...you can buy an adaptor or solder the rest with another setup so you can use it....just the idea of saying its useless is awful
You can solder it and attach it to the same adapter.
Awesome video. I wanted to see something like this before buying. Im sold.

How did he get the speakers LED They Look Cut
you can cut the strip every 3 led lights without it damaging
or just do something clever, and use one strip that goes under and up through hole in my desk
Toshiki Kai they have a part in like every foot to cut them it even has the scissor pic in it
would I be able to put these under my bed and behind my tv without having a hassle of one cord? could I just stick it around my bed, cut it, then put some around my tv?
Dr. Zoidberg yeah you could do it all one cord cuz but youll have to buy like 10 to 15 meters of it and connect them the each other
