- Finally we get our hands on the OLA scooter - the most anticipated scooter in the world. There are thousands of people waiting to get theirs and this is one from the first batch of S1 Pro scooters delivered here in the state.
They claim most of the early niggles reported in the media drive have been sorted here. Is that true and does it live up to the hype?

Love the color options given, brought back the old child hood memories when color was an element used to enhance the character of the vehicle and the rider. I remember LML freedom marketed on color factor, basically you had buch of options to choose from.
Having colorful options are much needed nowadays as our roads are very much graying out🙂
I’ve felt that Ola scooter’s front view is almost like a love child born to Wall E and Eva.

Ola has basically gone with the software company's way of releasing a product. Release a product with limited functionality and then add on updates as the product sales improve and fix any feedback that comes. What they dont realize is that software issues dont cause a problem to human life, but vehicles which have issues can cause issue to human life. Not a good approach by OLA.

As a product it looks pretty promising .. But there are some real world ( read indian ) usage issues in design.
1. Front mudguard is too close to the wheel, so it can collect or get scapped with mud and dirt fly out from front wheel .
2. No mount /place any skid/side guard ( a typical for indian users ) - which is a safer bet against fall
3. Somehow looks like a toy scooter in comparison with design of Ather

expecting my Ola in February 2022. Full payment made. Drawback that I felt- No ladies foot rest or back support. Be careful the pillion rider don't fall off while braking. Then the ridge-like projection on the footboard. Rest of the features are superb and bestin the class

Actually I feel electric scooters are software centric more than scooters. Beta versions deployed to troubleshoot at the cost of consumers. Proprietary wars in the form of chargers is not helping the ev ecosystem.
Anyways good detailed review guys, as usual. Is the rear suspension good enough being horizontal ?

Use regeneration for braking. First instinct during breaking should be to reduce acceleration, then the regen kicks in and the scooter brakes. The handle brakes are the next level of braking.
With regen use, you also get better battery capacity and range as during regen the battery is charging.
Eagerly waiting to see the important milestone of 100K in coming days...

I didn't see the scooter but I think that front suspension portion mostly Aluminium casting. After casting there will be some excess material which is removed and not finished properly like grinding. May be due to short of time to achieve delivery time.
Painting is ok , pre painting preparation seems improper

In my opinion this should definitely have a key as a secondary option to unlock the handlebar and the trunk. It would not be wise to completely relay on the software. What if the software got buggy or crashy and the handlebar got locked up and how will you move this thing out from the place.
Basically ola first plan was to come up with a ride sharing platform in which the vehicle is unlocked using an app. (In Bangalore it was very common before corona) . Then they changed their plans with complete ownership. Probably that's the reason for keyless start.
You guys must also try aerox...... Currently most fun IC scooter...
As you guys said on a vedio there is still time for electric fun.....
But after years of wait finally we got a proper maxi scooter which is quite fun too... 🔥

Thank you very much bring the most relevant content. I am a fan of Talking Cars and watched all the videos. As you said, I am not a fan of speakers on scooters, it might create issues and bring some noise pollution to the public ( remembering the subwoofer fitted autorickshaws). Another way I was thinking about this speaker is, OLA can repurpose this as a piece of party equipment. In Drive mode the speaker is disabled and when in P mode this can be used for party equipment for a small gettogether or birthday party. Wild thought 😄.
I was always wondering why we need speakers on scooters. That is also in a noisy place like ours. 🤔 And will these speakers get any issues if we ride/leave these scooters in rain?

If u guys can share ur insights on fame subsidy it'll be really informative. Whether the benefits reach the customers. Cz the price of the vehicles is increased by the subsidy amt and effectively ppl are paying the same price or more with our without the subsidy.

I have seen brake over acceleration as a safety feature in the cars. Software makes acc pedal input to 0% when brakes applied together with acc pedal. It seems Ola applied the same in two wheelers, as part of functional safety.
Taking power off when braking is dangerous as it upsets the balance of the vehicle. Why? We’ll explain in a future video…
