This song Still gives me L I F E !! Billy Beck on keyboards wrote it. He wrote "Heaven Must Be Like This" too. Billy Beck wrote most of the love ballads they did. The "Honey" album is my favorite album.

I had to watch this twice. RIP Sugarfoot. I had this album; a classic. Saw them in Chicago in the '90s (with AWB) and they were still fire! Don Kirshner's Rock Concert was on in my house every Saturday night back in the (real) day!
The Arp String Ensemble, while somewhat cheesey in comparison to the realistic orchestral string sounds and samples of today. The instrument was masterfully used in totally different ways by Billy Beck, and Parliament Funkadelics Bernie Worrell. Beck used it orchestrally and primarily in the upper registers to approximate a violin section, Worrell on the other hand used it in a way that lent an etheral other worldly quality and tonality to Parliament Funkadelics compositions. A truly classic instrument in the hands of two mastsr musicians!
Words are not enough to appreciate Sugarfoot's lead vocals.. Then Chet, Billy Beck and Diamond on them background vocals 💯💯💯 And Diamond hitting that final note ❤❤❤

He stepped back to solely produce the OP's and chose Billy Beck to handle keyboard. Billy ended up being a master on keyboards. Junie left grouo and Sugarfoot, Diamond & BIlly Beck took reign writing, arranging and producing the majority of the hits the OP are known for. Diamond, Billy and Chet (guitarist far left on stage) killed background vocals...especially on recordings. And Sugarfoot...a legend .

In some of these performance videos I have seen, I thought the higher singing might be Billy and Diamond, but I wasn’t certain. Please tell everything you know. This so unique. I love Sugar’s vocals, but the high harmonies for backing vocals are amazing! Not duplicated anywhere.
