- With the 30th Anniversary of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers taking place this year, the Anniversary Episode - Once and Always - airing in April 2023 and rumours that Hasbro are going to be adding a Tommy Oliver morpher (specifically the Master Morpher) to the Lightning Collection series later this year, it felt like the perfect time to reflect on the different Tommy Oliver Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (MMPR) power morphers which have been available - or capable of being made - over the years.
Join me on a whistle stop tour comparing these morphers while we try to work out which is the best, where Bandai or Hasbro have missed the mark and where third party companies like starlight studious and BD15 decals have been able to plug the gaps left by those larger companies.
Tommy Oliver was an almost immediate fan favourite when he first appeared as the evil 6th Ranger, the green ranger in Green With Evil. He then joined the main team of rangers before coming back as the white ranger and leading the team, continuing as one of the longest running rangers through power rangers turbo, power rangers in space, power rangers dino thunder, super megaforce and super ninja steel
These are all based on the dino power morpher featured in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (MMPR) and then used throughout the franchise whenever one of the original Rangers is brought into the show - such as during Power Rangers in space when Adam morphs back into the original black ranger, forever red when Jason morphs into the red ranger, operation overdrive, beast morphers, power rangers ninja steel with the Master Morpher used by Tommy Oliver...the list goes on!
Specifically for Tommy though, he used the Master Morpher custom version of the Bandai Legacy Morpher for his return in the 25th anniversary episode and that was a hugely memorable moment for a lot of fans and explained how he was able to keep using his powers. This also got tied into the incredible 'Soul Of The Dragon' comic produced by Boom Studios set in the future where a broken Tommy must fight for his life and use his master morpher for the last time.
Created by Ninjor and provided by Alpha and Zordon, these morphers give access to the morphing grid in the war against Rita, Zedd and all of the other evil monsters...but which one do you prefer and are you happy at the prospect of one of these morphers from Hasbro?

Dam dude you got all kinds of Morphers. Mond hooking someone up with one of those. I have wanted one sence I was 10 years old.
I had some spares a while back that another viewer snagged - if it helps though I can keep a lookout for cheap/reasonably priced ones on eBay for you and then ping you - just need to know where abouts in the world you are so I can limit the search a bit 😊

i just ordered a Master morpher off ebay for scalper prices. But im excited either way love the original power rangers.
Same, so many fond memories and I think the OG series still stand the test of time. I've done a review of the master morpher and overall I love it but mine had a few issues. Fingers crossed yours arrives perfect with 0 quality issues buddy - you'll have to update me :)
I got my Master morpher. couple quality issues. theres two weird small circle imprints on the side of the morpher.@@order66collectibles
Morphinomenal!
Thanks :)
@@order66collectibles You're welcome, Bud.
Hoping we get a master morpher announcement sooner rather than later otherwise I might be tempted to pick one up at resale price
The rumour was for 'fall 2023' so hopefully that means we'll get some kind of update soon...
There have been pictures posted on Facebook of apparent preorder items for the master morpher - will try and get them up so you can see them 👍
@@order66collectibles appreciate the update thank you!
Def prefer hasbro over legacy to be honest. It’s bigger yea but it’s much lighter for cosplay and it’s more screen accurate to the show. I like hasbros and the original 93s. Love the vids brother! Love the channel from lightsabers to MMPR!
Thanks so much 😊 I know what you mean with the lightness and screen accuracy for colour. If they’d just made it the same size as the OG 93 morpher I’d love it 😂 the legacy is my favourite from a display point of view. My next project will be a lightning master morpher - just need to get my hands on some green stained glass spray paint and I can start
@@order66collectibles yessir! I was thinking of doing the same but then I heard they may do a master morpher this year so I’m gonna wait a bit
I dont understand why Ban Dai would make a toy dragon dagger, but no green ranger morpher.
You also didnt get a dagger with the 8 inch green ranger figure.
Is that with the Hasbro lightning collection? If so I had the same thought - like why didn't they release a green ranger helmet - it definitely would have sold out!
@@order66collectibles I was referring to the early 90s US toy line. But yeah, Hasbro made the same mistake with this release as well.
Huh
