My first scythe arrived today. I want to thank you. Your videos helped me gain confidence. I have a bad back. Just did 1m square for the first time using your technique tips, sharpening tips. I have a degenerated disc and am slowly recovering after being inactive and losing all my strength for nearly one year. It feels amazing. My psychological well being just improved by 32 levels. It feels so natural. I stopped using a lawn mower many years ago to let nature thrive. I started using a manual hedge trimmer too. It is so theraputic. Snip snip. Using electric machines is bad for my soul. Thank you brother THANK YOUUUUUxxx

I live in Italy, in a hilly/mountain area where it's easier to have a slope terrain than a flat one... I imagine the new moon track of the scythe must somehow be modified.... Any suggestion wuould be appreciated, not to mention a video on this topic....
Usually just go in rows from up to down. If always in steep downslope you can consider a slightly longer snath. I would say it's pretty much the only things that differ.
Hello! You have a great youtube chanel and thanks for the videos in English! I have a question: what kind of advice do you have for very bumpy areas? I have a field around my house that hasn't been mowed for years. Most of it used to be a pasture. The grass grows in large clumps here and there (sometimes really very large), which is responsible for part of the bumps. A large part of that field is rather wet during half of the year, so cows and bulls used to kind of sink into it, making the ground even more bumpy, so that it's hard to keep the scythe on it (if it's on it here, then it gets into it 50cm further away). Most videos that I find on youtube show people who scythe very even grounds. It's quite frustrating because I feel it can't match with the ground I have to take care of! Second question: what happens once a very tall grass gets to fall over after a storm? Or simply when we're beginners and we can't mow quick enough before the grass starts to fall over?! Take care!
It is actually more fun to mow when it's a little bit tricky in my opinion! We will produce videos of that but is already some on the channel. I recommend using a blade hoe , pretty broad one, sharp and with a shaft on 65-75 cm for even out that type of grassbumps. www.slattergubben.se/produkter/bladhackor
@slattergubben6702 You’ve really inspired me to get a Scythe (again I keep chopping and changing my mind), I have a very smallish garden. But I live on the side of a mountain in the Scottish Highlands. It has a lot of Bracken in it. Would I not need a ditch blade, could I just use one like you used in your video? I’m in Britain, obviously, what kind of Scythe do you have, and where did you get it? I really want to do this! (I have the rake and the wheelbarrow).
