I use it quite a lot. My neighbours does not like hear trimmer early in morning in saturdays, sundays. It is best time to mow grass early, when grass is wet. Also this work is good workout.

Gimmie a lawnmower with a bag on it and a trimmer I’ll be done this in 10 minutes or less. Trim around the house one pass, roll it with the lawnmower, picks up the clippings and the clipping from the trimmer. Seriously 10 mins or less. This works but it’s most definitely not faster. You would be a fool to use a “trimmer” to do 3 feet of grass. Obviously you would just mow the bulk of it. 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Also, strimmers put microplastics into the soil and water.

I use a Ryobi extendable hedge trimmer to power scythe the overgrowth if its a jungle clearance job or it's somewhere that the use of a vac or blower isn't possible.

In the US we like to use gas mowers and gas edgers,blowers things that make lots of noise

I knew I wasn't mowing fast but I've just calculated I do less than 1.5 square metres per minute. So much less than a "good mower"'s 4-5 metres!
