(no need to comment back) i lost it when you found that egg on the shore. Man trip you seem like one of those people who don't know how awesome they are.
No need? There is always a need lol That was pretty crazy about the egg, I thought it was a fake one or something that looked like an egg. Never thought a real one would be laying right there.... I appreciate that man, I'm totally just a normal guy who doesn't mind acting a little silly on camera and having fun... Nothing to it man. Thanks though!
Really enjoyed this video. Congrats on the fishing! Definitely inspiring me to get outside more and get 'unplugged' as often as I can. Keep up the great work!
I love watching your videos. I got into kayak fishing last year and got me a Native Ultimate 12 after selling my jon boat. Disability made using the boat a little too much. I am a newbie but loving it. Thanks for the entertainment. You keep it real.
Thanks Bruce! Glad you enjoy them! I'm really liking the Natives..... Really liking them.... I've got my eye on the Slayer Propel 13. They seem like really nice boats. How are you liking yours so far? Got to keep it real my man!
I am inspired. I go out on my first solo kayak camping trip in a month down a river here in Missouri. Enjoy watching your videos. Thank you and keep them coming.
Another fun adventure. Thanks for taking us along. I have that same grill. I love it, but it's it's not the easiest to clean. With the yoyo's, you can add leaders off the end of the string. I do that. But like you said, I use mine form trees. I have premade leaders that I clip on the end and toss out when I get to where I'm going. they work great for setting over night. You usually will wake up to fish for breakfast.
Thanks Joe!!! It's not sure easy, but I've never had an easy to clean grill I guess. I'm ready to get somewhere that I can better use the yoyos... I've got to step up my game and get a fishing yak soon.....
Another great video Trip!! Thanks for all you do to get these videos out there so we all can enjoy! Can't wait till we have open water up here, there is about 15" of ice on the lakes.. Thanks again for your time to do what you do!
Oh it's killer. I'm quickly falling it love with it. I was looking for a good solution to haul mine and found that company. I reached out to them, we worked out something and they sent me some racks. That was my first time using them and it's a pleasure now to load and unload the kayak.... Check em out if you interested - www.frontrunneroutfitters.com/en/us/
Awesome video Trip!!! Made my day for sure...and made me laugh as always:) !!! Loved the ukulele and your singing too. Keep it up!! p.s. loved the shirts and stickers that came in the mail!! whoo hoo
Greatest Booyah moment yet @ 24:52 Great Vid! Your positive attitude in your vids is fantastic along w/ your destinations. Def inspired my Bro & I to paddle out to Fort Mcree & Pickens near NAS Pensacola. We straight sported our S&S swag w/ pride!
YES!!! I t was a great moment. Glad you are enjoying the videos and that's awesome you were sporting your S&S swag out there! Loved it out there man, glad yall got to go experience it.
I love watching this channel grow trip! My name is Henry I have been watching since the beginning. Every video gets better and better keep doing what your doing.
You're right, it is addicting. I'm ready to go back! Third yak????? You've got to share what you know. Which ones do you prefer? Yea, I wasn't wanting to tootsie.... lol
Yep. First was a sit in Ascend D10. Good stout, but short boat. It was my starter boat. My main use boat is a Santa Cruz Kayaks Raptor. Bought it for lake fishing. 13", internal storage, good seat. Most stable boat I've sat in that didn't weigh a ton. Easy for my old, fat self to reenter if I did fall out, too. My newest (just got yesterday and paddled today) is going to be my creek cruiser. It's a Perception Pescador Pro 12. Really liking it so far. None of these are as fast and payloady like that ocean rig you have, but I'm not a spring chicken, so deep water self rescue might be an issue for me in that race horse you have.
Much appreciated Wade. Yea, I spent several hours on this one and still screwed up the audio for the ukulele part.... Silly me. Got to stay positive or stay home! I'll keep em coming!
Congratulations on the fish! And yes bring the ukulele! I'm gonna rewatch several videos and start making my to bring list for the 17.1 trip. I don't wanna leave out the small to bring items. I need info on the undercarriage of your hammock. Great video! Look forward to the other sticker you will be putting out.
Thanks bud, I'm looking forward to the 17.1 trip to... Lol good deal on the Uk! Don't forget about the Gear Checklist over at sailingandsuch.com. My underquilt is the Jarbidge by Arrowhead Equipment, good value. The other sticker? It might be to controversial.... May have to think up another design :(
Thanks William! I've just grown up using Zebcos so I like them but I'll be changing it up soon. Glad you enjoy the music and I hope you enjoy the future videos!
Glad to see you fishing, Trip. A few suggestions. Academy makes a tape that can stick to your fishing to measure fish. Possibly upgrade to something like a Shimano Sahara spinning reel. If there is a chance you might release a fish, don't run the stringer through their gills. Soft spot behind the lip is better. Gills are very fragile and will bleed.
Me too robert, it was good fun. I have some of those tape measure on a few rods, just not that one lol Thanks for the tip about the stringer, good one. I've been looking at some reels, there are quite a lot out there to choose from. Thanks for the suggestion!
hey Tripp, keep the euk. sounds great. great video as always. Take a black marker and mark your paddle as a ruler. you will always have it laying across the kayak in front of you keep that kayak camping fishing singing coming
Good deal Ernie, I'll keep bringing it along. I do need to add a ruler to the paddle, that would probably be the best solution. Glad you enjoyed it and I'll keep on keeping on! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Your videos are great. Can't wait for the next one. Congrats on the fish! Time to move up from that kiddie reel. I also really enjoyed the song. Definitely bring the ukulele again next time.
Thanks Stuart! I can't wait either, next adventure 2/27/17.... It's certainly time to move up, you're right about that. I'm working on it. Glad you liked that little bit, I'll continue to bring it along, much appreciated!!!!!
Another Great adventure in the books . SailingandSuch and Songs. I liked this one a lot, but you need to get out there and relax again after dragging the Yak up that hill. Maybe a Winch for the Truck ? LOL
It was a good one! You're not kidding about needing to relax.... Well, that probably would have been a lot slower than just manning up and pulling it up the hill. I can be silly...
Check out Silky Bigboy or maybe another one of their smaller options whenever you get ready to upgrade folding saws. Use mine to cut stuff up to 10-12" easily.
I love your adventures. Unfortunately I will not be able to make the March kayaking trip but I will hopefully at some point go kayaking with you. I would love to see either Buffalo River in AK or New River in NC.
Glad you enjoy them Robert! Hateyou can't make the March trip, there will be more. I hope to be able to travel a little further as time goes on and paddle more unique places.
awesome videos!!!!!!!!!the eukele song was great!!!!!! slot of work goes into making those videos.....I appreciate them alot,...looks like a fun weekend!¡!!!!! good job trip
great video trip you are one crazy down to earth adventurous dude. keep it up man but you have got to get a better reel. can't wait to you make the next one..
Haha Thanks Dennis, I think a little bit of crazy is good for all of us. I'm working on the better reel part, should have that fixed soon. I can't wait either! Coming soon ;)
Trip, like many others here, you've inspired me to get out there and spend time doing what I love. I bought a Native FX15 tandem at the end of last year and haven't looked back... Sure, the price tag was more than most are willing to pay, but I couldn't be happier with it. After 6 years with my girl, we had never been camping together and the tandem kayak solved that perfectly. I bring this up because you mentioned getting a fishing kayak. Since you typically go solo, the FX12 might be better suited to your needs, and save you a couple hundred dollars (and weight going up those steep hills). Either way, the Native FX series are the Mac Daddy of kayaks - take a look at them. Keep doing what you do brother! See you on the water
That's awesome to hear KBanks! I've been looking really hard at the Natives... I like the Slayer Propel 13. I really like the FX models with their openess but I'm concerned about using it in the gulf and surf and it getting swamped. Plus I really like to swim so getting in and out in deep water may make the Slayer better suited for me. I really hope to get one soon, but I've got to come up with some more $$$ or either get in good with Native (it's so hard to contact them and get a response for my purposes.....) I'll keep the videos coming my man! Glad you are able to Get Out There and enjoy!
Yes, very true. The FX15 tandem is actually my first kayak so I have nothing to compare to, but I was thinking on our last trip it would be extremely difficult to take on some of your ocean adventures just because of the openness. I bought it mainly for inland waterway/river camping and fishing, and it’s perfect for that. For your purposes the Slayer may be better, although it does seem to have much less storage space if that is a concern. The other thing I’m loving about Native is the high/low seats… High for casting purposes and low for paddling. Being able to adjust your center of gravity is a huge plus. That and they make great lounge chairs once you get to camp, we just throw a giant wool army blanket down to keep the sand out. I look forward to seeing whatever you end up with man! Meant to say earlier, if you’re looking for future video ideas I’d love to see some fishing tips, specifically freshwater bass fishing.
good fun video Tripp! Helps with the winter blues! Watching you lug that loaded kayak up the hill was painful! Ever try a kayak cart? i use one all the time when lauching far from the car. Alain
I just stumbled across this awesome channel! Love the Video. Nothing better than kayak fishing and camping all in one. You are very entertaining. Are you going to do more kayak fishing? I hope so. I would suggest a good fishing kayak like a Native Watercraft Propel. Although you did great with your long kayak! Lol. keep adventuring and and keep making vids. my friend!. God bless.
+JSP Outdoors Glad you found me and enjoy the videos. Yes, more fishing is planned for sure. I'll be fishing on my new Kaku Kahuna kayak/sup. Should be great!
As always, great video and inspiring trip. I recently bought those yo-yos also. definitely a time and place to use them, but in the right place, I think they'll work well. That island looked great! Look into paddling the Roanoke River in NC! Floating platforms to camp on. I'm hoping to plan a yakcampin trip there this year or next! Thanks again for the laughs and vids to get me excited every year to kayak!
Thanks Michael! I'm ready to try them in a better setting. I've got some plans for them. I'll Google it, sounds pretty awesome with the floating platforms! Hope you are able to Get Out There to it soon my man. Glad you enjoy the videos, I enjoy reading comments where people enjoy them like you do ;)
hey Trip love you videos. inspired me to get a kayak and planning some adventures. I'm in southern Indiana planning on the white river soon just a all nighter. once again love your videos. I've yet to catch anything from kayak as of yet lol.
lots of gators in that lake, i saw more in one day from the resort than in most of a lifetime swimming around about every hour or so, was bizarre and made me wonder about the fishing pier inches above water, great bass fishing though
Trip, good stuff man. Just wanted to mention that the small grilliput has a u shaped notch for cleaning the grill rods. Not sure if the large one does.
Do you ever filter water with a Sawyer Squeeze or similar light weight filter when fresh water is available ? As opposed to bringing all those plastic bottles?
Nah, I don't really. I normally paddle in salt water so I'm used to carrying it all. Maybe I should get one of those filters though.... Wouldn't hurt...
Dude that had to be one of my favorite videos to date. We have this event in Miami every April called "Baynanza" where hundreds of volunteers go to about 20 different parks and islands in and around Biscayne Bay to pick up trash. Two years ago our group collected about 12 large garbage bags full of trash from one of the barrier islands and after about 2.5 hours we'd only collected about 25% of the trash on the island. We even saw a bed mattress. People have no respect. Hint on the fishing equipment. Just get an Ugly stick spinning combo consisting of a medium 6" to 6'6" rod and 2500 spinning reel. These combos are the best for the cash and will not break!. Dick's sporting goods has them. Until next time.
Thanks!!!!! I like the trash pickup idea, might have to think about something like that around here as well. I appreciate the fishing reel suggestion, I don't really want to spend $150-$250 on a rod and reel... I could see my breaking it or loosing it quick. Great comment, great suggestions!
Great video, again, Trip. I can see right now I am going to get a grill like that. Just too handy and packable. Makes me grin seeing you land some Spots with my care package. Cool you ran into a sub, too. Maybe us subs will run into each other too. Also, if you like closed faced reels, the Zebco Z03 Omega is the same form factor as the old trusty 33, but is built like a tank. It has actual SS ball bearings, three pickups and brass gears. It'll cost you $70-80, but is the best bang for the buck in closed faces. Love mine.
Thanks Fly, it's a great grill.... It made me grin to!!!! You're the bomb!!!!! It was very cool to run into him, hopefully it will happen more often and I'd love to run into you as well. Oh really? I like the Zebco. I think partly because everyone else uses the fancy reels and I feel like the underdog using the Zebco lol People always pull for the underdog right?
I grew up using Zebco reels. Later graduated to Daiwa closed face reels, but don't use them now (junk). I never could use baitcasters...spent too much time digging out birdnests. I like to carry a max of three kayak fishing. One close faced and two spinners. Mainly used this new Z03 Zebco. Stout reel on a $40 Ugly Stick.
Wow that was Fast ! You're on the ball ! Thank you for the inspiration you have given me ! Im from England and I explore the British rivers by canoe :)
Hi again. All lakes and rivers up here. With you in salt water have you run across any sharks? There seems to be lots of vids with kayakers fishing and tangling with sharks. (Hamilton, Ont)
Hey Nigel! I have seen a couple but as soon as I did they raced away as fast as they could.... When you are pulling their bleeding food towards the kayak you are asking them to come to you. lol
loved the video..did it occur to you unloading gear before hauling it up that slope might have been easier. those yo yo reelslook like they might work hung from kayak and trawling as you paddle?
Yea, it did. Then I thought "I only want to walk up the hill once..... Lets man up a do it!" So I did it, then realized my paddle was left at the bottom.... lol
Just what I needed to help me get through this last few hours of work!!
Oh for sure! Nothing like getting paid to watch S&S videos ;)
Christian Ayers I was on the clock also watching!
haha! I was watchin as well at work! Can't wait for spring!
(no need to comment back) i lost it when you found that egg on the shore. Man trip you seem like one of those people who don't know how awesome they are.

Fabulous Liberty! Very cool, I'm sure you'll love it. Just smile and laugh through the good and the things that go wrong ;)
Another fun adventure. Thanks for taking us along. I have that same grill. I love it, but it's it's not the easiest to clean. With the yoyo's, you can add leaders off the end of the string. Thanks Aaron! You're welcome man and I wish you an early thaw!
best kayak/camping videos on the net mate
+Matthew Portelli Oh wow! Thanks Matt!
I really like that setup you have for hauling your kayak. Looks like it works pretty nicely.
Oh it's killer. I'm quickly falling it love with it. I was looking for a good solution to haul mine and found that company. I reached out to them, we worked out something and they sent me some racks. That was my first time using them and it's a pleasure now to load and unload the kayak.... Check em out if you interested - www.frontrunneroutfitters.com/en/us/
Work was slow today. Thanks for taking me away for awhile. Love your vids.

Glad you enjoyed the fishing on a kayak my brother! It gets addicting!!
lmao at yr reaction when you find out it's tootsie rolls!!
It is very addictive. I just bought my third fishing kayak today. :)
None of these are as fast and payloady like that ocean rig you have, but I'm not a spring chicken, so deep water self rescue might be an issue for me in that race horse you have.
Got to do that this spring. Looks like so much fun
Do it!!!
Nice work man! I know how much time goes into editing/filming etc. these videos. Your positive attitude is awesome! Keep these Videos rollin in!
Much appreciated Wade. Yea, I spent several hours on this one and still screwed up the audio for the ukulele part.... Silly me. Got to stay positive or stay home! I'll keep em coming!
looks like you had a great trip. I really enjoy how you can have so much fun by your self.
It was a fabulous trip! Glad you enjoy it. Yea, maybe I'm a little crazy out there alone talking to my camera lol

Way to go catching the fish Trip! knew you could do it!

You need a kayak cart Trip, I just got one for my sit on top and I got a drysuit for winter, now I can kayak all year round baby !
Yea, I have one, but it wouldn't have worked in this situation I don't think..... I need a drysuit to but they are pricey!
Another awesome adventure
For sure Travis!
I enjoy your videos. I like a zebco reel in my kayak too. I also like the music. thanks again for recording your trips.
Thanks William! I've just grown up using Zebcos so I like them but I'll be changing it up soon. Glad you enjoy the music and I hope you enjoy the future videos!

Thanks Jarrod. Someone asked about your stove in the comments already. Much appreciated my friend.
I thought it a good touch. A really good tune sounds great on a tinny speaker or even a plastic instrument.
Good stuff. Nice catch!
Thanks gentlemen! Much appreciated!
No worries enjoy your day
Same to you Ghost!
great video trip you are one crazy down to earth adventurous dude. keep it up man but you have got to get a better reel. can't wait to you make the next one..

Poor fishy, haha! Great vid Trip! You always crack me up with your laughin'! Booyah!
+AMC417 It wasn't a poor fishy, it was hearty! Booyah!
It was a pretty one! Looked yummy too after you cooked it.
It was DELISH!

LOL it happened to me too with the Tootsie Roll I thought it was something fancy
Talk about a buzz killer....
Keep posting awesome vids trip
+Isaac Byrnes Will do Isaac!
Great vid. Great catch...
Thank you! Thank you!
good fun video Tripp! Helps with the winter blues! Watching you lug that loaded kayak up the hill was painful! Ever try a kayak cart? i use one all the time when lauching far from the car.
Alain
Thanks Alain! Hope it helps ;) I have a kayak cart, but it wouldn't have done me much good then lol I use it though when launching usually.
SailingandSuch this is true. Well on the plus side its a great workout!!
SonnyDey99 It was that!
Bring the Uke on future trips. You're pretty good.
Thanks Peter! Will do!
Legit!! I just got a ukulele for Christmas also. Haven't tried it on my kayak yet though.
+Larry Farmer haha, love mine so far. Get to practicing!
Glad you enjoy the videos, I enjoy reading comments where people enjoy them like you do ;)
Such an entertainer!
+Emanuel B Thanks!
Great video...thanks for sharing
Thanks William, you are welcome!
Great video trip!
Thanks John! Glad you had time to watch it and thanks for the comment!
I would have used a longer rope and hooked to truck to pull up the hill but it was fun to watch lol
hey Trip love you videos. inspired me to get a kayak and planning some adventures. I'm in southern Indiana planning on the white river soon just a all nighter. once again love your videos. I've yet to catch anything from kayak as of yet lol.
+Darrin Jenkins Glad you enjoy them! Hope your trip goes well and you catch something!
cool video way to get out there and get it! nothing like the outdoors! bro.
Thanks man! Nothing like it, no doubt!
thumbs up for bringing a fishing pole
Haha! More fishing coming in the future, promise! 😉👍
Hey you caught a fish> yeah... Like the Jimmy Buffet end
I caught one!!! Thanks, glad you enjoyed it bud.
lots of gators in that lake, i saw more in one day from the resort than in most of a lifetime swimming around about every hour or so, was bizarre and made me wonder about the fishing pier inches above water, great bass fishing though
Yea, there are some but I've never had a problem with them and I've been swimming there most of my life. Oh well...
Yes it's for cans can cooler bags I think you can fit a six pack in there
Gotcha! Thanks for the info.
Love your videos. You’re brave spending the night with the gators in that lake. Gator capital of Alabama.
Ah, they aren't to much to really worry about I don't think. At least not in most areas of the lake.
super fun to watch all your videos. what was the stove you used to cook the first nights meal
Glad you enjoy them! That was the Iridium Stove. It's pretty darn cool, fool proof, failure proof and just works.... www.nuclearoutdoorproducts.com/
love the video and 🖒on the ukulele
Thanks! Much appreciated!
Trip, good stuff man. Just wanted to mention that the small grilliput has a u shaped notch for cleaning the grill rods. Not sure if the large one does.
Thanks Duane! Hmmmm, I think it might just have a notch... Wow lol never knew that one! Glad you enjoy the videos, much appreciated!
SailingandSuch About to head out the door for work and I get a reply from a freekin celebrity! Are you kiddin me.. LoL
From a celebrity? Really??? Who was it?!?!?! Have a good day Duane! ;)
You should check out lake santeelah near Robbinsville North Carolina. It is gorgeous
I'll Google it! Thanks!
Need a pulley system to go up those steep hills
Ha! That would have been nice!
Wooohooo! Waters are frozen here in Illinois, been waiting for a video
Glad to have one to put out for you. Wishing you an early thaw!
Wouldn't hurt...
great video well produced. liked from me. thanks for sharing. 👍
Thanks man! I appreciate that!
I think those purple things are whistles, not corks. You should try blowing through it next time you find one. ;) ;)
Haha! I'll see if they make any noises next time ;) lol
you want a kayak trolley to move about easier. you can store it on deck and make your kayak last longer.
+Adam Jeff Yea, I have one... Lol
+Adam Jeff Yea, I have one... Lol
+Adam Jeff Yea, I have one... Lol
+Adam Jeff Yea, I have one... Lol
+Adam Jeff Yea, I have one... Lol
Dude I can't believe you picked up the cork 🤣🤣😄😄
+mike silvers I'm not very bright ;)
That is definitely that worst part about kayaking. Getting out of the water! HAHA
No doubt Matt lol
17:55 lol thank god u found that clay anti moisture thing
haha yea really!
I know you have a lot of links to remember, but don't forget your Patreon link!
Thanks for the reminder Mark! It's tough to remember them all. Tough to remember everything that has to do with S&S lol You the man ;)
Great video, again, Trip.
Stout reel on a $40 Ugly Stick.
you need a winch on your truck to get your yak up those hills/banks
+Phillip Young That would be nice!
Oh Look A cork !!! Oh Maybe I shouldn't be touching that ... haha That did make me chuckle ! Great Video Keep it up trip :D
oliver ballard Thanks oliver!
When you are pulling their bleeding food towards the kayak you are asking them to come to you. lol
Spaghetti MRE used to be my favorite. Just add a little of the provided tobasco and you're good to go.
Haha yes sir!
loved the video..did it occur to you unloading gear before hauling it up that slope might have been easier. those yo yo reelslook like they might work hung from kayak and trawling as you paddle?
Yea, it did. Then I thought "I only want to walk up the hill once..... Lets man up a do it!" So I did it, then realized my paddle was left at the bottom.... lol
I don't know why you didn't use the dock. seems that would've been A LOT EASIER
That said...ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO...THANKS
Haha yea maybe so.... Maybe I wanted a little extra adventure?
I got the grille because of you Trip
Nice Trey, hope you have been able to cook up some good stuff on it.
