Dude I really enjoyed this video. but i always enjoy your videos. I am in my 70's and had a bad health year in 2016 but i could watch your fun videos while i was down and they encouraged me to get back up this year and get back outdoors as much as i can.
It's 5:32am, just finished watching this cool video. Im pumped, so its time to make some coffee and go on a little kayak session before work. Keep up the good work Trip!
Man your videos are the best! I live in the mountains of West Virginia and you are more than welcome to come this way and explore. You are an inspiration to a lot of people. thanks for doing what you do
BEST.VIDEO.YET. Trip, something bout live streaming before and during the adventure really amped up this experience. It made you feel like you were a part of the adventure. Brother, thank you for all you do. We got your back, too.
Oh wow! Thanks Fernando! I haven't though about the live streaming amping up the adventure video as well.... very good thought.... I guess I'll be doing more live streaming. I would have been streaming on the subscriber trip if I would have had service.....
Man, I really appreciate you watching... I hope it gets greater and greater. I'm hustling trying to make it happen bud. I want it to be better for you and I want more people to think as you are. Thanks man!
I wanted to say" Thank you" for the videos and the value you give! You have really inspired me to do just that, get out more and enjoy life. I pick up my new Vibe kayak on Wednesday. Thanks again!
I subscribed to your channel a good while ago by now, and I watched almost all your videos back when I first found you. Then my interests sort of fluttered away and I forgot your channel existed until this popped up in my feed yesterday. It was such a great little surprise to see this and have my memory reminded of your awesome and entertaining videos. And I must say this video did not disappoint my previous memories. You are one of the only youtubers I watch that genuinely make me laugh and keep me interested. Keep up the great work! I am looking forward to those upcoming trips you mentioned!
+Jay Blue Wow Jay what a great comment! Man thanks for sticking around! You've probably missed quite a few good videos you need to catch up on ;) thanks for the comment!
Another great adventure Trip. As always, thanks for taking us with you. The views were amazing, the stealth part added some to it all. Glad you made it ok through the storm. You never complain about things, you just make it fun even when the weather is bad, your hammock rips, your hands cold..lol
I just had a chance to watch this video, and I'm crying I'm laughing so hard... no, it was no joke when I said the craters were caused by lightening strikes! I didn't mean to worry you, but glad you made it, I couldn't go without the S&S Adventures! Thanks for making my day today... and other days!
Finally, I got to watch this. I've been busy 'Getting Out There' this week on my new Kayak. First. Bob Marley would be proud. Nice rendition. Second. Glad you made it through the storm OK. Third. Well done on the push for Patreon. I'm proud to support you because your message is inspirational and I know how hard that was for you to do. I'd like to see more of your work and Patreon can help you achieve that. As little $2 a month, you can't buy a magazine for that and there isn't a magazine out there that offers what you do. Money well spent as far as I'm concerned. Because of your inspiration, I've had two days this week of Kayaking and fishing and I hope it makes you feel better when I tell you, I caught not one fish. Not even a nibble. But it doesn't matter because it was all made better by the joy of just being out there and paddling. Thanks again Trip, I look forward to your next broadcast/video.
Drynet! Wassup! Thanks, Bob has some good stuff. Great comparison on the magazine, I may need to borrow that one from you.... Ha! Well, it makes me feel better that you were able to Get Out There! Sometimes we can't catch anything... What a fabulous comment my man..... Thanks again!
Man I watched this one for the second time this year over the weekend and I have not been able to get your song out of my head. I keep going back to the part with you strumming and singing. Put more of your songs in your videos. Keep up the great work and stay safe. I'm a full time pastor and part-time firefigter by the way.
How cool Bobby! I plan on bringing my travel guitar along more often ;) Be sure to catch the Peace River videos and the St. Andrews Bay video for more guitar ;) Thanks for your work in both realms!
That was wild the way you "blazed your own trail" up stone mountain, and stealth camped up there. It definitely adds to the fun and adventure instead of staying in the campground and taking the designated trail to the top.💪✌🤙
I am new to kayaking at age 70. I have only had my kayak in the water a few times, but thanks to your videos, I have learned a lot about my new sport. I have hopes that by this fall I will be proficient enough to try a kayak camping trip. Keep making those great videos, they are both entertaining and informative, a definite Like
Your videos have inspired me to this kind of stuff. I have been watching your videos here recently and really like them. i just bought a kayak and a bunch of gear! Keep the videos coming! My first trip is this weekend, wish me luck!
Hey Trip. I gotta say that you definitely have inspired me. I'm getting into bigger kayak trips now and lovin it. Its always a highlight to see that you've posted a new trip video. I've even started doing my own short videos. All the best from Australia, Justin
TIP: One way to avoid your feet getting wet when you were leaving would be to duck launch. Point your bow at the water climb in while the whole kayak is sitting on dry ground and push off with both your hands like your pushing a wheelchair. The kayak will move easy with any little bit of down grade to assist you. The boat will plunge bow first into the water and you will stay dry. I have done this with a 17' sea kayak off of 4 foot vertical ledges to get back into marsh canals many times. In my area all of water is tidal and has around a 3 to 4 foot rise and fall between high and low tides. The water mostly runs through "ditches" when you get into the good camping areas which means the banks are 4 foot of vertical mud on low tide. My friends and I had to learn how to do this cause there isn't anyway other way other than throwing you and your kayak off a ledge to get in the water. (I learned it from whitewater kayakers) We try to plan on getting to the camping area on high tide so we can pull right up off the bank while the water is at the top of the ledge. But then we mostly have to leave at low tide the next day with the tide cycles the way they are. It works real well if you get the bottom of your kayak wet and throw some dead grass under it before you climb in.Great video keep up the good work.
I love that tip! Would be good video footage! I was thinking about trying this method yesterday actually where we camped on the subscriber trip but didn't want to chance it with the water being so cold... I would really like totry it one day though for sure. Thanks for the description and for taking the time to leave the valuable info for us!
3:50 it's best not to fasten the lure by the actually ring/eye. The barb can cut a small groove in it and affect your line coming off/on the reel during use. Make sure the hook is resting on one of the little arms that support the ring/eye, instead of on the ring/eye itself.
Here in Vermont I put a set of hand warmers and foot warmers in my pack from Oct. to April. Good way to get warm and pretty light weight. Nice video. Take care, Al
Another Triptastic video my man. I enjoyed the additional hiking stealth camp, that was a nice touch. Also, the ukele comes through again. It was impossible not to sing along :) I'm glad you plugged the Patreon page. I think alot of folks would LOVE to help support you, and help you grow this channel. I think most folks don't really know that it is there. I would personally encourage anyone reading this comment to consider supporting the S&S channel through Patreon. Myself, and my entire family enjoy sitting down to a good ol Trip vid. Good humor, and good clean fun, I'm lovin it. The ol' subscriber trip is coming up soon isn't it???
Thanks bud! I appreciate your fabulous comment my man. I can only imagine the possibilities with a strong Patreon support group. I really like hearing that the whole family enjoys the videos, that' to cool. Yep, we just finished yesterday and had a good trip even though I was underthe weather and could barely talk most of the time....
Good stuff brother man! Thanks for what you do. I get it, the adventures are only half of it then we have that mountain of editing lookin us in the peepers when we get home. I struggled with patreon as well but it really does allow us to "get out there" more and keep the content coming. Safe travels and adventure on Trip!
Great Video! Cool to see aspects of both backpacking and paddling, and I loved the "stealth" factor. Song in the middle of the video was sweet! Keep up the good work man
I'm taking my new eddyline carribean 14 sit on top to fairystone state park in Martinsville, Va this Sunday to go out on Philpot lake in the foothills, going to be epic baby ! After watching this video, it got me pumped up, keep up the good work Trip !
"I can't put my (barely reflective green) tarp up because I don't want to be seen".. Meanwhile he is wearing bright grey shirt, with dark trees and shadows behind him while flailing his arms around xD Gotta love this dude! Great video man!
+GaberTheSniper Gaming Haha! Maybe I'm a bit silly. Although most of the time I was sitting in the low spot mostly out of site. My tarp would be one really large mass of one color.
True that! Glad you didn't get caught and were able to spend the night up there, made for quite the experience I'm sure! And RIP (litterally) your hammock! Keep up the amazing content, really pumping me up to get back in the water if the snow can finally melt and stop coming down on us! (I'm from Québec, Canada) Really getting me jealous with your grass and trees and sun haha
Great video Trip 🙂 thanks for sharing all your adventures !!! I've never been to Stone Mountain but I plan too go their with my kayaks now I did not know about the lake at Stone Mountain !!! Be Safe always !!!!
Hello, I just came across another video of yours this morning and I'm already hooked!! I've had an interest in kayaking/SUPing and have been wanting to do some hammock camping too. I recently bought an inflatable kayak to take camping and such. I loved this video because Stone Mountain means so much to me. Every summer growing up we would go there and check out the laser light show, such great memories. I live in Missouri and we are actually planning some camping at Stone Mountain in July, I'm super excited about it! Thanks so much for the awesome videos and look forward to watching more! -Angee in MO
Seen a few of your other videos and I wasn't a subscriber but after watching this one and you giving me a couple of laughs, I subscribed and liked it. Man though, that was a lot of stuff to take up the mountain for just one night!
Great video very entertaining, I had a great time viewing it. I'm glad you made it through the thunderstorm I was getting a little worried for you after the live feed. And you're right you have to balance life and family, it's well worth it. Continue what you're doing you're doing great. God Bless
Great video! Glad you are OK. I loved that you brought your ukulele! You make editing seem so easy. Can't wait to hear/see your Peace River trip. I did it in October and it was fun. We put in at night and saw the most beautiful owl. Planning next trip up the St. John's River. I am challenging myself to do the whole thing (310 miles) in 13 days..by myself. Your videos are helping me prepare and keeping me motivated. Have you thought about getting a drone for some of your trips? Trying to figure out how would you land it if there is nothing but swamp and water. Thank you for all you do!
This was a really cool video to watch. It has been 70 degrees here in Pa. and I thought that I was going to be able to get the Native Ultimate 12 out soon. Then we got 13 inches of snow. I guess that the kayaking will have to wait a little bit longer. Great video!!
Hey Peyton! Well, the subscriber trip signup should start next week if the planning goes smoothly and it's the first week of August in Panama City Beach. Maybe you could make that?
Another awesome well done video, falls into the “don’t try this at home” category. I should have waited until I heard the ukulele playing before I hit that like button though.. HA
Great video, really enjoying your videos and learning from here. I am going to buy some of that gear from Patrion like those mesh bags. Keep up the great work man.
Just for that Bob Marley-song...thumbs up! Really like these long videos, great video as always Trip!...as long as you dont become somekind of "kayak-rambo"-with guns and stuff I am ALL with ya... Stay true!
Ha! Thanks Magnus! Glad you are still enjoying the long videos. I'm always leary of them but I just couldn't cut out any more then I did. I don't plan on being Rambo on the kayak, but I might do a squirrel hunt or something one day lol
To help conceal yourself avoid "movement" like the tarp flapping, etc. Good idea about the rocks around your fire. If you have made a littlle chimney out of your rocks, it would be very hard to see the flames.
I generally don't setup the tarp and hammock fully until I think it's dark enough for no one to see it. A chimney would have been pretty cool... Thanks for the tips!
Thanks dude! We didn't get rain during it, but before the trip. All was well though and there were several cameras rolling. Now just to put it all together and see what we've got.
Awesome once again! Great video Trip really enjoyed it! Nothing like doing your own tune to your video.Music is good for the soul. Tried to tell ya about the hammock look what happened! Just kidding bro. Great shot of the water wheel and river boats great scenery. Booyah! Thank you! again for a marvelous video!
Good trip you got to see what you did right and wrong. A good guy to watch to see some good tips is Shug on utube he cams in the middle of winter so he knows some good tips and such. Anyway this trip was a nice one and a great ninja trip
You hid your yak right near the area the DUCK boat launches into the lake, walked up Stone Mountain with a 60+ liter backpack AND talked to a ranger and didn't get caught. Well done sir.
I got all the equipment too! Just got to get out. One thing that turns me off in Connecticut is that they don't allow fire pits on the Appalachian Trail for example... Although some people do it regardless! LOL I also have a nice canoe and want to do canoe/camping but this crap state I live in is very limited for that too.
@@TripSmith - I dont have facebook but my wife is going to get ahold of them and hopefully yall can come in contact that and on their webiste they have a number where you can call them and tell them about yourself and your channel, I think you and them will both benefit from each other.
loved the video. always adventurous and entertaining. what shoes were you wearing for the hiking bit? do you recommend them for multi day backpacking trips?
+Bryan Swan Thanks Bryan.... Lets see, Salomon XA Pro 3d. I love them... I only use them when its going to be cold though and wouldnt suggest them for warm weather....
Hi I enjoy your videos! I do have a question. I noticed in this video that you are wearing a rather large backpack up the mountain. I didn't see it strapped to your kayak so I'm thinking that you store it in the yak until you get ready to hike. I don't think it would fit in the hatch fully packed so am I correct in assuming that you unpack it and store it that way while paddling and then when you get ready to hike do you then pack all your gear in it? Thanks!
Dude I really enjoyed this video. but i always enjoy your videos. I am in my 70's and had a bad health year in 2016 but i could watch your fun videos while i was down and they encouraged me to get back up this year and get back outdoors as much as i can.
Wow, nice. That's a heck of an compliment for ol' Trip! I hope your feeling better Ragen and being able to get outdoors! Take care!
That's wonderful Ragen hope you find yourself out there enjoying it soon!

It is so cool seeing a place you have been to In person on a video
Great video. Keep up the good work
+Jackson Cowan Fabulous place isn't it? I'll keep the cameras rolling
Looked a fun trip! I appreciate the "Get Out There" sticker you sent! Already put it on my Kayak! Thanks for sharing!
I was there when I was younger and went down a water slide and a zip line. The water was cold and refreshing. Invigorating!
It's certainly a cool place. I think the water park you might be talking about has been taken down. It was a nice little dip!
Really enjoyed watching the video. Your human resilience is on par with your entertainment levels. GG
+spearshak3r Thanks! Glad you enjoy them!
43:26 I love when they tell you what the divots are on the mountain I seen this video couple times but I love seeing you videos
Yea! That was a funny bit of info for sure. Thanks Cristina!
Great video as always, keep that good content rolling brother!
+Robert Niemeyer I'll do it! Thanks
That was wild the way you "blazed your own trail" up stone mountain, and stealth camped up there. It definitely adds to the fun and adventure instead of staying in the campground and taking the designated trail to the top.💪✌🤙
Oh yea, got to make it happen sometimes.
What an awesome adventure. And you manage to keep the attention for an hour video lol, great channel.

I'll second that. Its good advice. It's a pet peeve for a lot of fishermen
Here in Vermont I put a set of hand warmers and foot warmers in my pack from Oct. to April. Good way to get warm and pretty light weight. Nice video. Take care, Al

Great video. Love watching your content.
27:29 Like a kayak ghillie suit, I love it. You should patent that and market it for stealth camping!
Haha, yes sir! Sounds like an idea you should run with, I don't have the time....
Yay another video! It's 4am, I'll have to finish watching it tomorrow. I got me a Tanzer 26"!

I live in Missouri and we are actually planning some camping at Stone Mountain in July, I'm super excited about it! Thanks so much for the awesome videos and look forward to watching more!
-Angee in MO
Hey Angee, glad you enjoy the videos! Stone Mt is a pretty nice place for sure, hope you enjoy your upcoming trip. Get Out There!
Awesome adventure that's was cool man 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Subbed...great vid... love your enthusiasm
+Tim Summers Thanks for subbing Tim! Enthusiasm is easy when I'm out there paddling...
Seen a few of your other videos and I wasn't a subscriber but after watching this one and you giving me a couple of laughs, I subscribed and liked it. Man though, that was a lot of stuff to take up the mountain for just one night!
+Jeff Hollander Thanks for subscribing Jeff! Glad you enjoy the videos bud. I know lol it was quite a bit....
Great video very entertaining, I had a great time viewing it. I'm glad you made it through the thunderstorm I was getting a little worried for you after the live feed. And you're right you have to balance life and family, it's well worth it. Continue what you're doing you're doing great. God Bless
Thanks man! Ah, it was just a little thunder is all lol I'll keep it up, thanks a ton!
Never camped out up there. Awesome man!
It was a cool spot ;)
Great video! Glad you are OK. I loved that you brought your ukulele! You make editing seem so easy. Can't wait to hear/see your Peace River trip. I did it in October and it was fun. We put in at night and saw the most beautiful owl. Planning next trip up the St. John's River. I am challenging myself to do the whole thing (310 miles) in 13 days..by myself. Your videos are helping me prepare and keeping me motivated. Have you thought about getting a drone for some of your trips? Trying to figure out how would you land it if there is nothing but swamp and water. Thank you for all you do!
That was pretty cool when you played the ukulele.
Thanks! I enjoyed it, it's a fun little instrument.....
Great video loved it, motivated to do kayak camp when the season gets here in Boston. Thanks for sharing
+The 714 Formula Nice! Enjoy it!
enjoyed the trip, Trip!!!
+Tisha Wright Thanks Tisha! Glad you didd
This was a really cool video to watch. It has been 70 degrees here in Pa. and I thought that I was going to be able to get the Native Ultimate 12 out soon. Then we got 13 inches of snow. I guess that the kayaking will have to wait a little bit longer. Great video!!
+Bruce Snyder Thanks! I hope it warms up soon for ya. That's a sweet yak! Make it happen bud!
putting the toggle on the treestrap is genius. I am so doing that.
I know it! lol

I'm from Mobile, AL. Let me know when you're going camping/kayaking again! I'm up for the challenge
HA
Thanks Dante! Hehe yea maybe youre right. Haha!!1
love your videos. I also love camping. your videos are funny, cool and action packed keep up the good work :)
+Joshgirvan5 Glad you enjoy them Josh! I try to make them something I would enjoy watching myself.
Great video, really enjoying your videos and learning from here. I am going to buy some of that gear from Patrion like those mesh bags. Keep up the great work man.
Glad you are enjoying them. The mesh bags are AWESOME! I love them....
Again another great video keep pushing them out
THanks!
Magnus Persson well I'm sure someone just started a channel called "Kayak Rambo"
Haha!! I freakin' love your adventure videos! Inspiring and hilarious! Keep up the good work! (Awesome ukulele skills, too!)
Amy Vorpagel Thanks Amy! Much much appreciated!
Awesome man I loved it
+Tanner 2365 I appreciate that Tanner!
Great video. I love your trip videos. Hope you get some footage of the S&S group paddle. Guess you guys might get some rain.
Thanks dude! We didn't get rain during it, but before the trip. All was well though and there were several cameras rolling. Now just to put it all together and see what we've got.
You are the man Trip
Thanks Warren! :)
Thanks Keith! Music is GOOD!
Hehe, yea you sure did... I should have listened ;)
It was a great spot for sure, BOOYAH!
Good trip you got to see what you did right and wrong. A good guy to watch to see some good tips is Shug on utube he cams in the middle of winter so he knows some good tips and such. Anyway this trip was a nice one and a great ninja trip
+Cannabis healz Oh yea, I know who Shug is. I hope to get him on the Get Out There show
Love this guy
Glad you enjoy it!
Good video. Enjoyed it.
Thanks Rob!
You hid your yak right near the area the DUCK boat launches into the lake, walked up Stone Mountain with a 60+ liter backpack AND talked to a ranger and didn't get caught. Well done sir.
Yep, sure did lol Thanks!
Adventure King !!! ***CHEERS*** !!! =)
+Lloyd McGriff Ha! I try ;)
Great video! I've been trying to get some courage and go do some solo wild camping too.
You can do it Peter, nothing to it my man.
Oh wow, that's no fun lol Maybe' youll figure out some good places soon! Keep looking
Less than ten miles from my house. Small world. I forget how many times I have been up that mtn.
Small world!

+Bryan Swan Thanks Bryan.... Lets see, Salomon XA Pro 3d. I love them... I only use them when its going to be cold though and wouldnt suggest them for warm weather....
Thanks Trip!
love the video's keep it up man. wish ii could get out yaking but still to cold here the ice just came off the river
+Nick Schramm Thanks Nick! get Out There!
Thanks!
Hey bud! Glad you enjoy the videos! Yes, the pack was stored inside of the kayak unpacked.
Thanks for answering Trip. Keep up the great videos!
500 likes baby.. booya.. LOL Awesome video Trip!!
Oh yea!!!! Thanks Rob!
Great vid man. Look forward to a vid on the new hammock. Or maybe you go with a bivy this time lol.
+Jared Hughett Thanks Jared! I've ordered a hammock from arrowhead equipment already
Great Vid. I love Stone Mtn. Can you do a How to on your hammock and tarp? I think It'd be helpful.
