How’d my plane fly, Trent?? lol. Can’t wait to win that baby!
Save your money, I already called dibs… lol it’s been a long time since an Alaskan has won it…
No way dude that's my plane! I bought 3, three! tickets.
@ step in line, this Alaskan buys 10 every year for the last 15 years…
I don’t know why but watching these flying videos just speak to my soul I’ve never wanted something so bad. I’m working on getting to be able to do this someday. See you In the sky someday.
Took me around 40 years to get my own. Anything is possible especially when you realise you do not need the latest and greatest to enjoy the freedom and satisfaction of being in control of your own flying machine.
Thanks for taking us along for the flight!
FYI, aim for the dark sand on the Red River. The light sand is fine, but the dark sand is rock solid. The lighter sand can be a bit fluffy. So I generally touch down in the dark and roll into the lighter. We have a ton of great spots on the Red River
That plane is SICK. And thanks to their generosity letting you fly that plane, I will be on their website buying some tickets.
Can’t wait to see yours done!
What a beautiful aircraft. Thanks for taking it out and showing us what we could win!
Put my plane back down! This is my year, I can feel it
Ohh, Man! Wish I was Younger and still Flying! Thanks Trent! Color Me MAJOR Jealous!
OK. Buy a ticket for the raffle every year even though I don't have a pilot's liscence. I have a couple medical issues that prevent getting one and have been disappointed with that all my life.
Have you looked at a sport pilot certificate?
@@davecarson6100I had to sell my street bike, I cant even fly passenger, plane or chopper. I feel the pain.
This is an experiment aircraft. You don't need a medical to fly experimental airplanes.
If you haven’t actually been denied your medical, and you can legally/safely drive a car, light sport may be your answer. Failing that, ultralight.
I don't know much about planes BUT that seems like a big step up from the Kit Fox. Seemed SOOO smooth.
So cool! You convinced me, I am now in the running. 😌
You're doing an awful lot of Cub slobbering, for a guy who built the "Cub Killer" 😂🤣
Wow! That was so great seeing you fly the cub! Glad to see that it was as satisfying as you felt it would be. Can't wait to hear a breakdown on performance between your old Kitfox and the cub you will be taking ownership of shortly. Wishing you many happy years in your new cub!
This is another video among many that I will be going back for a 2nd and maybe a 3rd watch.
Good morning from Minnesota! What a great opportunity!! Fun episode!
Looking forward to seeing you fly your own! Good to see that you got up in the air this week!
Looking forward to seeing you in the new build..will be fun hitting all your favorite spots again.. fishing season coming up soon.
Nice looking plane - I get a ticket every year. I am not a pilot but support them. My brother lived up in Alaska for 5 years. Private pilots are the back bone of Alaska.
let's face it
we get so comfortable flying out regular planes
jumping into another is something else. I think this is video is a good example of caution and precaution no matter how great we think we are
Thanks and well done
Love the skin graphics
Thanks for keeping my plane exercised!!! Looking forward to bringing her back home to Texas after the raffle!
Hoping that you will be able to fly your new bird to OSH this year!!! Would be great marketing for Legend!
Looking forward to the video comparing the 0-360 to the Rotax!
Good to see ya up on the Red River Trent. North Texas is darn flat but we still have a pretty decent playground. The Red River is my favorite. Wouldn't dare land the plane I fly on it, but its a lot of fun on the paramotor. Quite a few airboats up there too.
Best back seat driver ever. He agrees with what ever trent said while they were in the air.
Once again, living and flying vicariously through your video and thinking how incredible it would be to afford to fly again by winning such a beautiful bird, thanks for the smile and fine camera work despite the rain.
Nice video. Thanks for sharing. Just checked out the Alaskan Airman’s raffle. Definitely want the plane, but some of the other “consolation” prizes aren’t too shabby. The organization itself seems worth supporting, even without winning a prize. Just bought my tickets. 🤞
Thanks for your support!
Happy New Year Y'all from beautiful South Carolina.
What a beautiful bird.
Thanks for sharing.
👋😎
What were the red flashing leds' above your right shoulder? Another fun video and thanks for taking us along. So happy for you.
Led's cycle off and on to fast to be caught by the human eye but a camera's frame rate will catch the flicker.
Great video, Trent. Thanks for posting
Beautiful airplane….don’t scratch it Trent, it is headed to my airstrip in Haines Alaska this Spring…😊
You grinning from start to finish says it all. I want one!
Love Hunters Gusto!. Can't wait to see the new plane up and flying.😁
Michigan Tech .. home sweet home
Michigan Tech! Midwest represent!
bought my ticket.... fingers crossed
Wonderful journey, nice to see your video.
Gorgeous aircraft! Looked like a great performer, too. Someone's going to be SUPER happy with that one! 👍😎👍
You might as well do what you want Trent, that never stopped you before.
Great video Trent, got to love our Texas sandbars! (Especially in that airplane)
Thank you for letting us known about the raffel!!! Maybe I can finish my Cert!!
Tweety in the background!
Great ride along
those engineers over at Legend seem to know their stuff
That's my local ground. Thirty minutes north is some nice cliffs to sandbar approaches.
What a cool copilot! Awesome dude.
I believe i saw yall fly over my house. Just down the road from Sulphur Springs.
Trent is flying with his Right-hand. Finally, he got it right.
Beautiful Cub, sweet flying'
That's a Monkworkz generator your flying behind, 2.6 lbs, 30 amps, all the electrical power you need!
Awesome plane. I’m going over to their website now and buying a raffle ticket.
Bought my tickets a while ago, fingers crossed!
Bought my ticket! fingers crossed. Would be quite the upgrade from my 150 haha
That's a amazing plane, I can't wait for you to get your plane
Love the vids mate keep it up 🫡
Michigan Tech! Great Engineering school. 85 grad, Go Huskies!
I live in Alaska and we see you stealing our plane Trent. As long as you don't wreck it I guess it's ok.
Well, the plane is built in Texas and the raffle is open to every US state and all countries so I doubt this plane ends up in Alaska. The raffle money goes to the Alaskan Airmen's Association but the plane doesn't belong to Alaska.
@@scottmichaels12
Mellow, simple, and enjoyable. Nice cub. Thanks for posting!
I noticed you have much smaller control inputs when landing than you did in the Kitfox.
Great to see you flying a Cub! Have you become a Lycoming fan now?
I lost my audio right as you started talking about some hair pace that you wanted us to know about. I don't see a transcript link here Trent...could ya text that info to me? Thanks Mr. Palmer for another great flight.
That is one beautiful airplane! Cheers from Winnipeg.
I'm surprised the CG was so far forward with a passenger in the back.
If you'd like to land at XS30 - just south of KPRX, let me know! Would love for you to stop by!
Never leave your wingmans' behind.
Safety: At 8:31 make the Bolds on the window 'flat', if you hit them with a crash you should weir a helmet..
Trent, I recommend you get a rear view mirror for you up front, so you can face see your passenger in the rear seat! 😉
Already got one! Great minds think alike
Nice plane...awesome performance...
Thx
Ok now. Which one of these beautiful planes am I going to fly today? What a great way to start a day!
I definitely hit my head on that plane at OSH this last year checking it out 🤣😂
Hey Trent. Mentioned the tires feel a lot on this one. Lets see what we can do my friend.
Trent do you have sealing issues with your hat and your headset? I have a very similar headset and probably the same hat. But I had to ditch my hat after I noticed the cups not sealing.
I landed Sulphur Springs grass strip last Friday to put fuel in my Cub.
After you finish yours you should do a collab with fms planes to get a model painted like yours. Would be super cool
That would be awesome!
Wow what a Cub pro already!
Maybe a dumb question: For pilots who like to fly from the back seat in a Cub, how do they use the glass cockpit, Garmin, etc. from the back seat? Or do they simply not use those when flying from the back seat?
For the most part the only cub you fly from the back seat is a J3 and you don’t really see anyone putting all the fancy avionics in a J3
The tail stalls before the wing stalls? Interesting.
When at idle it felt like it did, makes sense with how little baggage weight I had in there and with the slats on the main wing, it takes a lot to get the main wing to stall
Leading edge slats are amazing. I have them on my Zenith HD and an airfoil tail. The wing is nearly impossible to stall.
That's a good looking plane.
1:38 What’s that lever you’re pulling do on take off?
Flap lever
How do you buy a ticket? Does becoming a member give you an entry?
You go to their website and give them $75. It's not rocket science.
@ just want airplane. No rocket. How much is that will be?
another nice video THANKS
I purchase tickets every year also
It feels strange not seeing a seat next to you, Trent. Good strange, but weird!
It kills me ro watch you all having so much fun bush flying. I was planning on getting a pilots license and then well...age catches up with me and messes up my eyesight, so I'll never be able to pass an FAA physical. Woulda/coulda/shoulda started years ago.
Doug. If you can legally (and safely) drive a car, go Light Sport NOW! No medical required - just a valid driver’s license. Pick up a Legend Cub LSA, get your training for a sport pilot certficate and go fly!
@@CSanford-f5d I'll look into that thanks
@@dougww1ectebow Depends on how bad your vision is did you ever check into a FFA physical? I only have vision in one eye and corrected vision with glasses in the other and needed to get a vision waiver and got my private license.
@@iffykidmn8170 Yes I did. And my vision for one eye corrected does not meet mimimum standards.
@@CSanford-f5d Thanks for the tip. If I go this route, it more than satisfies what I would want to do anyway. No desire for IFR certs, etc.
MTU!!
Have you ever flown a Helio Courier?
This reminded me of Freedom Fox and Draco.
ua-cam.com/video/RdFZ8qtEiq8/v-deo.htmlsi=XC-wEl1FIg4jgk8Z
Are you spending quite a bit of time in East Texas?
wow, once you get your plane, this is gonna be epic
Didn't know Post Malone was an engineer at Legend.
Post Malone? Did I miss this guy's face tattoos?
What's the blinking thing in the cockpit (kinda near the camera)
Red led flashlight. Camera only picks up the led in certain frames
@its4michael like just so pilot has a light at night I guess
Is there a heater in those planes? If it is going to Alaska, they will need one. :)
Of course, most planes take cabin heat from a baffle around the exhaust manifold
Every small plane that I've ever flown has a heater so I'm certain that a $300K or more airplane has a heater.
@@scottmichaels12 Yikes! is that how much that plane costs. OMG, if someone won that that would be quite the prize. BTW, I had a friend some years ago who had his private pilot license, and he often invited me to fly with him. He didn't own the plane but was a member of a club which allowed him to use the plane. I don't remember what the plane was only that it was a twin-engine prop plane. Anyway, getting back to the heater, I guess he liked to be cold because I never felt any heat while flying with him. 🥶😆
Nice bird, what did it cruise at Trent?
I forget, I think around 100mph
When you finish your cub, you better fly down to northern CA!
Oh that’s one of the first places I’ll be taking it to play
@@TrentonPalmer Then I recommend flying to lake berryessa for the view & then land at Nutree airport and walking down to Fentons Creamery & Restaurant, they have great food and even better Ice cream! It would make for a fun video, or just fun for you.
I honestly could see Trent getting all goofy & stealing various airplanes a la' famous flying farmer routine.... at every place he visits. Would be a good diversion & variety...
I couldn't. Trent is about as straight laced and "by the book" as it gets. Plus, he would not do well in prison.
@@scottmichaels12 imagine he either gets bitten by a spider or drinks something that changes his personality... cut to prison courtyard where trent is using rocks on the dirt as bushplanes to plan their escape...
Gorgeous plane. Wow!
Is the raffle available outside of US?
Yes. Just go to their website and give them $75. You don't have to be present to win.
@
Done & done 👍
And you made the guy wash the plane.. Unbelievable!
I don’t have a second of tailwheel time, but I try to win these every year.
How was it flying with slats?
Wow, visually how can a pilot stand the flap lever there. Or is that a cub thing
It really is out of the way, the camera angle makes it look worse than it is
that is gona look great in the hangar by my other MOAC
Went and renewed my medical, just because I know I'm gonna win!!!
S Trent. Is yours going to have heel brakes or toe brakes??
