12v is on a switch, 5v needs to connect to sense for 12v to activate

Ty, much like an ATX supply.
This video is quite old though. I haven't handled another one since, and likely won't.

@TheAussieRepairGuy Just some information for people that have one laying around and want to use it as a 12v power source for hobbies like RC charger, car radio and many more

Leave it sit for a couple of days first, they have bleed resistors across the caps.

    Hi, nice video.
I wonder how many X-Box power supplies have the same fan problem!!!!!
Where is the video clip where you tested the power leads, what part of the plug is connected to what.
Have you one of those elcheepo component testers?
Although they are cheap, they are a good go/no-go tester.
You could still have a faulty capacitor, just the ESR is to high.
If you have 5V then the SMPS is 90% working.
I'd tackle ALL the caps on the low voltage side.

The two outer shields are the high current 12v connections, one of the inner small pins is 5v, sharing ground with 12, and another I assume is a sense/communication wire.
The owner of this supply isn't big on paying for repairs, as thus I'm not terribly interested in spending a lot of time repairing it.
cost of replacement is far cheaper than cost of my time.
