More people need to get into making their own tools... welding is mentally easy to learn but can be hard doing the physical, dealing with heat, sparks, etc... Get good at welding then making your tools is easy
So did u come off 4 inches from the outside and put your first spear then set the next one to 20 inches and did the same for the other side? I’m looking to build one almost like this set up. Great content.
How long is your 3x3 square tubing were your bale spears are on? And how do you know we’re to put your bottom brackets to hook up to your bottom 3 point arms?
I tried the bigger/longer spears, but we had trouble on tight bales. Let us know how they work for you. Ive polished and sharpened it up but it still tough to qork with. We ordered an HLA dual short/thin spear for $600, I hope it works better. Not many honest implement reviews on youtube.
i would like to have something similar to haul 3 rolls, 2 on bottom 1 in middle top. I have 4x5 probably no more than 1200lbs each, could this set up carry three?
Yep I tried that. But I was to scared the top bale was going to come threw the back glass. You would need to add a riser from the top link up to prevent that from a happening.
Looks real good.

100% agree!!

Yep exactly
Nice job. I would have run a couple of pieces 3x3 tubing off your center tubing like an A frame for a little more support.
If I see any kind of flex I may do that
@@CenTexAg Yeah don't know how much weight the tubing will take or how much your bales weight. But if it flexes it will help.
@@CenTexAg I was thinking 2x2 tubing would work for the support braces and would be a little cheaper. And I think it would look better.

Will do. Thanks for sharing your experience
I am about to build one of these. Have one very similar pictured in my mind.
So 24” tall and 80” wide right?
Anything you’d do different? Work well?
Yes on the measurements. I wouldn’t change anything because it works really well.
Ok thanks for the info and the video!
admire your adility to run a torch close to the vehicles....I would need water on the floor and fire ex. close...i'm a worry wart...
Haha I think I’m getting alittle to complacent. Plus the battery was dead on the impala.
That's a monster of a spear. like the rag top 65 too. Is it a SS by chance?
One year off, it’s a 66. No it’s just a regular convertible that came with a 283
Nice

How tall is the top link riser tubing? Liking the vids too!
It is 24 inches
What’s the length of the 3x3 tubing that the spears are mounted too?
80”
