Better be careful Chris. Farming is one of the most dangerous professions. And you are out there by yourself. Nice truck like the quick disconnect for the fuel hose. Never had my tractor and trailer push me through a stop light but I can feel it pushing. Nice Patriotic colors on your net wrap.
That fall could've been a lot worse! Nice save though. Great video as always! Have to say I'm a little skeptical of the 6.0 But if you know what you're doing, mechanically, you can make them a good engine. And obviously you know what you're doing. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to more videos. - Everett
It was alittle nerve racking when I first got it since I came from the 6.7 which “in my opinion” is the best diesel ever in a Ford. But I know the 6.0’s well and there are tons of aftermarket parts available for them. Plus the 08-10 are a nightmare to work on.
Thanks for all the great tips on the Work Master 75. I purchased one this past year and still learning a lot about it. My question...I'm am interested in using third function on it but I haven't seen any videos. Do you use third function, if so what is needed and how do you feel about using it?
No I have not needed it yet. You would need this kit from new Holland to make it work 731198551. Its around $1800 which has increased in price since I bought my tractor. If I was making square bales and running an accumulator or a bucket grapple on the front then I would need it. I just haven’t justified adding it yet.
The new Holland was great. I just traded it off for a Massey. If I was on the same budget and looking for the same hp range yes I would buy it again. I have a video coming soon why I went with another brand. Nothing against the new Holland
OUCH! Lol. I grimaced in pain but sorta laughed also, only because I know how it feels. I’ve been waiting to see that double spear put to use! Odds are you’re probably closer to 800 pounds in a 4x5. It’s pretty hard to get one to 1000 unless it has some moisture in it. Not to mention being able to get a spear in it would have to be so tight. Good to see you back and congrats on the good pulling rig! What type of quick disconnect is on the fuel hose? I need to do that on mine.
Lol I thought it was gonna be bad when I knew I was going down. Yeah I’m thinking they are in the 800lbs range, I need to find a weigh station. The fitting is similar to this Pioneer VP4200-4-CS you can find at tractor supply. It’s great for keeping your fuel hose and nozzle out of the weather
Are your trailer brakes not working or not working properly? Just curious as to why you were getting pushed through an intersection with the 350 and expect not too with the 450. I am aware that the 450 probably has larger brake components and more pavement contact with the duals. However if you were within weight specs on your load that trailer and truck combo should have stopped just fine. Just food for thought to maybe check the trailer over and maybe settle my curiosity to the braking problems.
Thanks for the suggestion. It’s possible the brakes on the trailer were not working properly that day. I was doing 65mph when the light turn red and had the pedal to the floor and it was not fun. The total trailer wait was 17k plus the single wheel 350 with a flat bed with a air compressor & auxiliary fuel tank was at minimum 8500lbs most likely heavier. According to ford the max trailer tow capacity for that 350 is 15,700. The 450 is a HUGE difference in stopping power. Plus I felt like it was wearing the 350 down quickly consistently hauling that much weight with 3:55 gearing. The 450 is so much more truck and I’m glad I up grader or down graded to the 6.0 lol
You definitely will wear out a tow rig quickly if you’re consistently putting it to its max. Gearing is a very important factor in pulling. The old say just because you can pull it with a lighter rig doesn’t mean you should. I constantly see people pulling travel trailers with a half ton truck should be using a 3/4 and they’re truck is screaming to put out of its misery. Your trailer definitely should have stopped you. Panic stops with a load is scary. I definitely recommend showing your trailer some love and give it the once over. Usually the trailer is the most neglected piece of equipment, I have been guilty of it myself. Maybe a video idea for you to show how the brake systems works, repair and general trailer maintenance. Just a thought and could be a winter project.
Hey Chris, love the videos. Was thinking of upgrading the lights on our 75 to led. Wasnt sure if you've done it yet. And if you did, where did you get them from? Thanks in advance
I actually made an attempt and was in the process of making a video on it. I tried replacing the bulbs in the head lamps and all 4 flood lamps but I could not find a proper led bulb to either fit correctly or put out enough light to make a difference. The headlamp housing/reflective mirror in the hood are 180* the opposite direction of a normal headlamp. So it made the light output shoot up and down not side to side. The only option for the flood lamps are to replace the whole unit with an aftermarket one like creed. It’s hard to explain but maybe I can make a video on what I tried to come up with.
@@CenTexAg totally understand what your saying, i looked at them quickly but havent made any attempts yet. I'll do some more digging on the web, I know new holland wants about $130/ea for the led replacement cab lights. But dont offer anythinf for the headlamps.
Thanks for the links to the fuel set up!
Dang! Glad you didn’t get hurt! I like that dual bale spear I’ll look for that video, thanks!
Great to see you back

Knew you got a 6.0 from the start up. I love the sound and I've had mine since 03 its been a good truck.

Nice
Was wondering why you switch to the John deer to load your trailer.
It was the following day and I had already brought my tractor home. That land owner lets me use his tractor
What do you do for a living? Great to see you back!
A little bit of everything from welding, to turning wrenches, to farming. Thanks for the comment

Appreciate the videos man!. How has the new holland held up for you? If you had to buy another tractor would you buy new holland again?
