I am using folk art neon acrylic craft paint
Thank you for all of the amazing nail art design tutorials that you share with us. I have a cosmetology diploma (got it back in 05, used it about a yr & then decided hair stylists was the only thing I could become with this degree in my area of GA soI ditched & got a regular old 9 to 5 job at AT&T. I absolutely hated every single aspect of cutting, dying, styling, etc hair which is 80% of the cosmetology program but loveeeeee makeup & nails. I focused on makeup first so with thousands of hours of practice on my own with lots of UA-cam, magazine, book, etc inspiration, I'm a damn good makeup artist now, including brow tweezing, waxing, trimming& fill ins. Hoping to learn threading next. But time to move on to nails. Once I got the various acrylic, gel, wrap, dip, etc methods down pat for artificial full nail sets, full ins & overlays, it was time for nail art which is where I am now. I cannot thank you enough for your videos, I am just a beginner but I already feel like I've came much farther at a quicker pace thanks to you, your amazing instructional videos, IG photos for inspiration & the aspect that's helped me the most is the fact that you don't just do each design, you explain exactly what you are using, which brushes you are using & you walk us through the design 1 easy to follow step at a time. That is an amazing help, I could never thank you enough. Plus your videos on brushes, paints, polishes, techniques, basic things like that have been the greatest source of help for me. I like to always have a reference to go back & refer to so I create books based on the information I learn & I have a notebook broke into 5 sections dedicated to nails & I'll bet you 99% of the information came from you! Thank you, thank you, thank you Ms. Robin! You are freaking awesome!

Hi Robin I've been watching ur videos for a while now. And I have to say thank you for all of the wonderful designs that I have learned from you. And also just all of the different products that u use has helped me out a lot also. I'm really into foiling right now. For a while that is. Last month it was stamping. I try and do it all. Thanks for ur tips that u give without them I would not know how to do the design that I want to copy of urs. I ordered some neon powders that I just can't wait to get so I can do things like this. I like things that r very shinny hollow and bright. Plus chameleon products. Oh I just love them all. Thank you again and please never stop ur wonderful videos.

when i am shared to where i can give up some of my jobs I will show SO MUCH more, bliss!!!!.....right now, i create new designs 3x a week with my clientele, edit each video, produce them here, sell brushes worldwide every day, do all of the social media tagging and answer up to 200 questions a day myself.....if i can get people to share more and more and tag me when they do my work......it will open up worlds of my processes but i simply do not have the time to do it all. i am one person and i have learned LOLOLOL.....but!!!! if you do, i promise you this...i have tons more to share, i just dont have time ... i must make sure it isnt stolen immediately by big companies who make tons of money off of it without a thank you because that helps NO ONE....that has been our industry for 20 years and i think we deserve a better way.....so i am SO OPTIMISTIC bliss.....i know people are changing. mean and competitive brands with expensive products is evolving into inexpensive art that is shared with pride and self love while advancing and being a a part of a true sisterhood. I always wanted and never had that. i had to compete my whole life. prove myself my whole life and its just a garbage way to live so I just sectioned myself off and did my thing for 20 years. this is a novel but i have to be smart and BE THE CHANGE...having a girl come visit now and again isnt enough...i want the whole group of women who are like us creating and sharing and growing a foundation that is passed down generations....and i think we can do it.....to take this on is huge but it saved my life more than once ..... i want this for girls who arent born with all the best in life...i want this to go to artists who know hard work pays off and are willing to do it....and we are getting there!!! i am not speaking bad of our whole industry...it was born and evolved into what it is....i want it to evolve further and come to a beautiful place......i admire so many in our industry, but when i spent time with the brands and creators i heard it over and over and over..our industry puts money over whats RIGHT and competes us for low wages and sales sales sales.... if we band together it will change and you will see polish prices go down, products will go down, maybe booth rents will be more reasonable..... hopefully hateful competitions will be replaced with happy go lucky collaborations and we can have fun in "our place" in the industry...............we are the unsung heroes of an industry that makes over 6 billion dollars a year with very few thank-yous.....very few payments worthy of our time and absolutely no shout outs in any magazines other than our own 'if youre popular that is'.....its so sad and must change. when i see 'nails by' xxxx xxxxxxx in a vogue magazine.... and they are not press on pre-painted tips covered in high cost gems....but hand painted nail art that makes you go wow....i know we made it! omg...novel complete LOL i must stop...but you got me in the heart!!!.....*laughing*.... please thumbs up todays manifesto....*blush*

i wish it was too. 20 years ago i couldnt even take apicture of my work, i had to draw them on sketch pads so i didnt forget. that is what i teach from now. i wish we lived in this time as new artists, i cant imagine how fun it is. i hope it keeps growing because we were so overlooked......the new generation is much more kind, if they starts shifting into the big channels that are young girls, we will have a beautiful foundation that overtakes the old way of thinking....i am inspired by that. :D *huge hug* i am so glad your nails can still get done! :D have a wonderful weekend oma!

Jacqueline Douglas using this application is exactly the same for toes as it is for fingers. I just teach the art. For many years I did this on toes and then worked my way to the actual hands. Everything I do I did on toes first so you can do it on both hands and feet exactly the same way

Robin did you thin out the paint with water? I can’t tell.
This is sooo beautiful! One problem I'm having is that when I paint almost to the cuticle with paint then topcoat, I'm either getting topcoat on the cuticles (which looks so sloppy) or leaving a thin sliver of the design untopcoated so that the cuticle oil messes it up. What can I do?
the paint at the cuticle has to be so thin....i got too much at the top of the middle nail here ...you can very gingerly get a makeup sponge tip dunked in alcohol and wipe around the cuticle or even put alcohol in your brush and go around the cuticle...this thins the paint around the cuticle enough for you to have a leveled topcoat. if it doesnt work, (practice first before you charge) then you have to really practice getting paint thinner all around and focus on keeping it watered down when in the cuticle area. sending my love and good luck!!! i hope this helps. tell me if it did in the next upload!

In year 1!!!!!! I didnt HAVE money to spend on polish. In my early videos I talked about sation a lot. Sation was a polish that used to be inexpensive and created by a women who was very poor. She sold polish for 2 for 1.00 and I could only afford very little at a time and i can say with sincerity that her polish saved my life and career. without her polish, i couldnt afford to be a nail tech and that is horrible to type.....because if you are trying, you should have options.......... I had seen a woman painting art in nail school with a brush and polish and thought to myself I could use acrylic paints my mom had if i topcoated it and really failed at first but kept going forward. i began practicing more and more in school and had every girl at the school wanting little daisies. I was horrrrrible at it....but i kept practicing because i kept getting fired and nails was my last hope.....so, i went to a shop (where i apprenticed acrylics because they dont teach it well in school or online) and began doing feet as payment for her teaching me. i painted art on her clients feet for 1 year and began making a name for myself in the neighborhood and in the shop. i had a full clientele a year later and now i have a waiting list and can do whoever i want but it doesnt give me joy...what gives me joy is sharing it.............. but its not shared back too much yet because in our industry, competition has always been QUEEN and i wont have it......i am not going to compete. i dont have to. as you see, the big polish companies compete so fiercely that they would throw all of us under a bus if they got a viral color and i know this to be true now. so, thats why i dont buy a shit ton of polish. i refuse to be a slave to that type of attitude and part of that side of the industry. our side is filled with compassion...you can see it here. i might die poor. i might be old and forgotten but i truly love what i do and that surpasses any viral polish. hahahahaha (my honest answer accompanied with a shit ton of typing!)

I stay in that part of the country where people don't admire nailart... But now that I am shifting to a happening place...my hopes are on... I really wish to start this as a profession... puja, i believe we have had very similar stories and that is why you are so dear to me. i see how much effort and work you put in and how your art is taken to another level because of your love of doing it. you will always be successful if you never give up. if you get clients who are mean, get rid of them immediately and change them for nice ones and build your family. they will stay with you forever that way. i wasted many years doing nails on people who treated me unkindly but i didnt have much choice back then, now i do and i know you do good enough work to have that too. so dont compromise yourself. you can do this and when you have your nail art family, it really becomes better and better. i love you and wish you tremendous success. i would like to come to your country someday, meet you and have you show me all of the beautiful spots. that is a dream for me...so keep sharing and tagging! haha! *huge hug* have a wonderful weekend

Finding out that they invaded phones and took ALL texts from phones as well as all the phone calls that have been made... That invasion of privacy, plus the hacking... I am just glad that my goddaughter was so insistent that we stay off of social media. Although she did have a Facebook account, she was SO careful of any personal info going out.
