Man, I do miss early campaign 2 where pretty much everyone was lying about literally everything. Molly just like, casually lied so much, it was great.
and fjord's casual lies too, just beneath the surface
Except for jester. Her mom definitely didn’t want her sapphire to give that stuff away for free!
They lied to everyone except the wizard in the tower, which they were dedicated to being straightforward with literally only him.
And the Gentleman later
Four of them weren't using their birth names, two were running away from home, two were running from evil pasts, one was haunted, one was cursed into the wrong body, and one of them wasn't even using their real voice.

The fact that there was pity in that made it sting more!
I laughed so HARD until I realized 😳 "HOW did she know to say that on the fly". If I really think about it, it was so psychologically accurate, that she had to have thought that through thoroughly in her character planning. Or, did she just randomly say it and it happened to be a perfectly psychologically accurate backstory response for her character? I really don't have a great memory, but they fully embodied their characters from the get go. I never really thought about it before, wow.

Pretty sure Jester and Fjord at least introduced Kingsley to her
And I believe there is enough Molly left to still make that meeting pretty great
*Molly sits down to breakfast as the group wakes up one by one on their own schedules. Jester, too excited to sleep all night for sake of being home, is already sitting there and waiting for the others while doodling in her sketch journal.*
Molly: Ah, it is a beautiful morning, isn't it Jester?
Jester: Yeah, mornings in Necodronis are always so good, like, they are the best!
Molly: I couldn't agree more. This morning in particular was quite delightful.
Jester: Oh, yeah? Did you sleep well, Molly?
Molly: Oh, no no. Actually, I didn't get much sleep at all in fact.
Jester: You didn't? Well, why not? The beds here are super comfy!
Molly: They certainly are; and the pillows I had were two of the softest I have ever seen.
Jester: They totally are, yeah.... but then, why didn't you sleep?
Molly: Well, lets just say I was taking in some of the most wonderful sights I have ever seen while exploring the finest services this establishment has to offer.
Jester: You mean like... room service?
Molly: Oh, yes. Multiple rooms in fact.
Matt: Molly, you take a point of exhaustion.
Molly: Damn right I do.
Actually, I don't think he would have tried to get in with Marion. She's Jester's mom, after all, and Molly does know where the lines are that aren't to be crossed.
HOWEVER, I do think he would've ransacked Marion's closet (with her *very* amused permission) and regaled the Nein with a fashion show.
Fjord would be unable to sleep in the same room with him forever after.

Cadeuseus was a dear, but stuff like this really makes me said we had to miss out on Molly Mock.
Pretty much what I told Taliesen at a con last year. Then I made him laugh when I said Cad reminds me of a capybara given how chill he is. Seriously, am I the only person who's made that connection?

There was only one lie there. Other than the line about his mother he was actually pretty honest. "as long as i can reasonably remember" he has no memory before the circus found him.. "A few years now" he's only been Molly for a couple years. few years means no less than 2 and not more than 5. he's vague yes but not dishonest. the embellishment is mostly to hide that he's only been alive a couple years.
That's my take.
@@AngryGayNoises I’m pretty sure he straight up lied about his swords and boos powers. I think he said they were sacrifices for some cult or something like that.
That's why he "lies like a politician"; mostly technically true, but still misleading.
Just a note, I think this comment was from when before I changed the tittle to "Molly lied about so many things" but it isn't that accurate to the current one 😅

@@hf2706 He did. He spun a story about a cult to explain his blood hunter abilities and tattoos. He came clean about it later on but tbh I'm not sure that lie really went anywhere.

Does anyone else wonder what would have happened if Mollymauk met Jester's mom?
I often thought about it rolling through M9, especially near the end. I’ve come to the conclusion A) Tal the player would have enough respect to ask Laura if it’s okay for Molly to experience what makes the Ruby so legendary and from there if stuff happened it’s all good for dramedy or B) Molly, despite his skewed views on morality, would be such a good comrade to Jester that he wouldn’t cross that line. Much in the same way all the other members saw the obvious draw to Marion but never made it more than it was and respected her as a woman and as Jester’s MVP.
All that said, Molly in general in Nicodranas would have been unnnnruuulllyyyy lol. He would have made his mark all over that city. And to imagine him with Fjord and Beau trying to get into Yussa’s tower the first time is also very funny. And think about if Molly met all of the guest characters! Reani, Keg (for more than a minute), Spurt, Twiggy! And Traveller Con. It all would have been chaos at an unimaginable level.

I was just thinking (spoilers) how many of the nein didn’t use their birth name. Molly, Nott, Caleb, Jester. Yasha didn’t use the clan name, Fjord was an orphan and no clue if his parents named him. Maybe only Beau and Cad.
Jester isnt her name? O.o I knew about the others but had no idea about her, can't wait to come across that in the campaign! :D
@@kinaocasio527 her mother named her Genevieve, but started to go by Jester at a young age. Maybe around the time she met the traveler. I’m not 100%
I always took Yasha's name as her birth name and her clan name was bestowed upon her as some sort of coming of age. I think when asked about it she had described it as a "warrior title".

I actually without meaning to made a character by rolling dice for the background race and class, the rest I picked.
i ended up making molly, a charlatan tielfing, if the traveler found him interesting instead of jester to start, a trickster cleric.
and honestly for a trickster cleric I think the telekenesis feat is good. i mean invisible mage hand! no need for any casting display of verbal hand wavy or components? that's so good for a trickster.
anyway sorry I rambled. well made animatic.
