Actually no, matt says himself at the very end of the episode it was literally an off hand comment about fjord being polite, that happened to lead to the right questions. This was originally apparently a later game reveal.
My favourite thing about this is just the image of classy and reserved Marion having to deal with this massive revelation and a bunch of hyperkinetic, heavily armed, extremely over-enthusiastic teens/twenty-somethings freaking out about her decades old romance. That and watching Marisha's reactions to all this. She still has my favourite facial expression journeys of the entire cast. You can see her every reaction and thought on her face like a flickerbook. :D

Nott doesn't know the particulars, but was probably trying to suggest Marianne try some magic on the spit. Except, the Ruby of the Sea isn't a magic user, beyond her base tiefling abilities.
I genuinely love how when Marisha puts her hands on Liam and Travis's shoulders Liam puts a hand to his ear preparing to shield it from a Marisha quality freak out.
I have watched this scene like ten times since first watching the campaign at the beginning of Quarantine and every time it gets funnier and funnier. Watching Travis, Sam and Marisha clue on really fast and even Taliesin though he plays it off like he doesn't for the sake of rping Cad. Laura's acting is the funniest of all. Poor Jester. What a way to find out this information!
Jester is so good in the episode when she opens her eyes so wide. And the way she says yes at 1:10 is cute. Travis is a lucky man to have such an amazing girl. I'm really jealous of him.
