    I like that black carbon fiber Iron man mask this things are so expensive but also strong and lighter in weight and this things are so cool, I appreciate you that working to much hard and making it to a next level

      Thank you! It motivates me to make better projects. Carbon fiber fabrics shouldn't be so expensive today (for our use at least). It's at an ok price from China but you still have to wait for weeks.

      I think that we can make so much at a very low price with 3d printed molds! We could even save more by reusing the same plastic to make new molds.

      yea it sounds really cool but kinda scary i think i would just print it then just prime it and smooth it its less complicated and less scary

    just use the connect infill lines in your sliceing software and that will get rid of the pattern you get on your prints and save you some work

    Defenitly deserve more reach.. I also made a helmet using cardboard..it was a nice experience.. But now i want to make a 3d printed one.. But dont have one.. So trying to contact some one who has..

      That's awesome! You will be able to be a lot more creative in your designs with your 3d printer! Learning is fast, failure rate is low and cost of failure is a lot lower too!

      Thanks! It will definitely help you if you want your armor set to be strong and light weight. Unless you want the carbon fiber look or stiffness, you should use fiberglass to keep the price super low.

    As an alternative to using wood filler, UV resins can be applied to smooth 3D prints. Uncle Jesse recently uploaded a video on the process.

      It's true, I tried to use the least expensive material that still offer good results. But UV resins works great too!

      Thanks a lot Owen =) I often use Blender (it's not a CAD software) but you can use Fusion360 (it's also free, and easier to use than blender).

      Anyone (without a disability of course) can do it! But you have to start with a small project to learn from your mistake and build confidence. You could start with something small, like your own keychain.
      Then double the size of your projects, for example : Keychain, knife (for decoration or to use it as a tool), Shoehorn, etc. At this point you could start making more complex project.

      Thank you BAS! I will make a series of video to show how you can design your own molds (using blender or fusion 360) and how to 3d print them, and finally how to prepare the 3d printed molds to make composite parts from them. I will start very easy at first then make them more and more difficult. Let me know if there is a specific part you want to make. If it can help others, I will add it to the list!

      Thanks champey. I use only PLA. PETG is great too but it's harder to sand and doesn't stick so well (when trying to make a large 3d printed mold from small 3d prints).

      Thanks Macody =) You should ask your parent for help. If you like that kind of projects then you should start with a 3d printer and learn how to 3d design. I think you will love it! If you start now and work hard, you will become much better than me! I think you are to young now to use advanced composites alone (carbon fiber/epoxy, etc.), but maybe your parent can help ? Please be careful. Be creative, try, try again when you fail, and don't care about what others say and you will make much better projects than me!
