When I was in Praia I saw a lot of developments that were up and advertising but when I got back to the states and tried to go to their websites they were mostly offline. In Boavista and Maio and Santo Antão the same thing. And, from São Nicolau I've heard things to worry about. Cape Verde is being sold to foreigners piece by piece or parcel by parcel and the way things are going, capeverdeans wil end up being a minority in their own country. I have a theory but I won't share it here. Not now anyway. All I can say is that to exclusively depend on tourists for a living is not necessarily the best solution. And, those NATO ships constantly in capeverdean waters polluting the environment should be of great concern to not just the capeverdean patriots but to the whole Africa and perhaps the whole world. I'm not crazy about tourists but I definitely don't want to see foreign militaries lurking around Cabo-Verde. The capeverdean diaspora must be given incentives to return and the natives who haven't left must be given incentives to remain or stay. Viva Cabo-Verde livre e independente!
