After visiting more than 20 African countries, I came to the conclusion that Africa’s GDP is severely undervalued. It must be at least 5 trillion USD instead of 3.
yes, GDP depends on exchange rate and on currency strength which is also named purchasing power parity (PPP). For sure Africa has a level of wealth which is undervalued by a factor of 3x or 4x. For exemple with CFA franc , France is pillaging a lot of the wealth from West Africa, once France is kicked out west Africa GDP will skyrocket (and France GDP will go down)
Look at that 😮 when you have a capitalist free market economy with liberal economic policies and making an investment friendly region than you can be free and rich 🙃

I didn't know Cabo Verde was moving like this. Lots of construction going on and it's growing fast it seems. - How is the infrastructure in terms of electricity, internet service, what about the cost of food, I assume its mostly seafood because its an island, but does that make the rest of food expensive or does it have its own agricultural system?
Cabo Verde has to import everything and therefore it is relatively expensive for what you get. When it comes to infrastructure it is not a big issue because these are small islands that one can drive around in 1h. Internet is not at European standard but they got internet everywhere through the mobile phone companies
It barely rains on the archipelago so agriculture is scarce. 90% of food is imported. Protein is mostly frozen stuff from other places, and that includes seafood.
It would be nice to have more trees/bushes planted throughout the cities and suburbs. Having dirt everywhere doesn't make for the most attractive setting in my opinion.
Thank you for sharing the amazing landscaping of my country. However, I feel Capeverde is prioritizing foreign investors' interests rather than prioritizing what is best for the Capeverdean people and the country as a whole.
Olá Ana Evora tudo fixe? If it is really as you say that your Cape Verdean government is prioritizing the interests of foreign investors over Cape Verdeans, then you must stand up and take action to stop this situation, otherwise tomorrow the native Cape Verdean will be a visitor in his own home. There are policies that can be implemented by your government that align foreign investors with local entrepreneurs so that a balance is promoted and the country is not sold. Beijos apartir de Angola.
@@StevenNdukwu Yes you can.The politicians in Portugal had the same mindset but changed course after locals began protesting high inflation caused by European and American buyers of real estate. It should not be a free for all, the locals have to benefit too. For example only a certain percentage of real estate can be foreign owned and in those transactions a certain percentage of transaction value can be set aside as a tax to build low income houses. You need wise and smart regulators.

Energy costs in Cape Verde are the highest in Africa by far. Since it barely rains and there is no rivers or lakes, ocean water must be dessalinized, and since dessalinizing plants are very energy demanding, water costs are also extremely high. It's unfortunate to have a stroke or a heart attack, but having a a stroke or a heart attack in Cape Verde would be particularly unfortunate. You don't see children on the streets though, they are usually all well dressed to go to school, however when they grow and collect their degrees usually they flee the country.
yeah, it is still not there compared to the best villas/mansions one can see in Nigeria. This is because nobody is investing there. If Nigerian investors start building high quality mansions there, they can make a lot of money.

I hope the regulators are taking a long term look at foreign real estate purchases. Land is a finite resource not like oranges you can keep growing year after year. Maybe for Cape Verde they are a small population but regulators need to keep a close eye and this applies worldwide. Portugal woke up to the fact that you cannot let foreigners buy any and all real estate without real consequences for the locals. All this foreign money drives up inflation so they should be checks and balances. For example maybe a specific tax on foreign purchases should go towards low income affordable housing so locals can see tangible benefits. Also, only a certain percentage of land should be available for foreign buyers. And do not let Westerners fool you. The Canadian, Australians and some states in the US have all put in legislation to limit or completely ban purchase of land and or real estate from non resident Chinese nationals. The country looks very beautiful and the locals should be the primary beneficiaries of their heritage.
