amazing work but when you get these genius people in person at least 60-90 mins would be appreciated sure the rest of followers agree xxx much love from uk
Jay, very interesting video. The fact that Rune was in your room just shows the effect you've had on Gryphon here in the US. In fact, I believe that they owe you a debt of gratitude because you've brought them so much attention and that is why Rune visited the lab. Kudo's to you and Merry Christmas my friend.
Come on, stop at a point like this, Jay? I was waiting for such conversations. I build amplifiers myself. But I follow what's going on in the world. This always inspires us to create better designs. This interview is what I want more of on your channel.
Great interview. Rune’s a great guy. I had the opportunity to spend some time with him at a Gryphon open day in the UK and it was a fascinating conversation. The Apex and Commander was exhibited At the UK high end show in September so hopefully Gryphon will choose to debut it in the US soon. Believe me, It doesn’t disappoint!
They do have a monoblock version, visible on their website. It is literally twice the price (so $200,000), twice the weight, and incredibly, delivers LESS power at each rated output level than the stereo unit 😮
Love to see a realistic living room system with an integrated amp, 60 inch LG TV, stand-mounts shoved against the back wall, a couple of sofas and club chairs, and an angry partner screaming "shut that sh*t off!"
Please for the love of Audio, tell them to use a passive speaker when they demonstrate any of the gryphon amp. The experience at T.H.E. Show was not attention grabbings. This is the best advice.
Satisfied owner of the tiny Diablo 300 here (in the set up I have in this residency) ! It does a devilish good job for sure. Well...first of all, kudos to Rune and Jay for the involvement and enthusiasam in the hobby or dare I say life style ! But Im really trying to understand the issue of why would the weight/size of this or any similar product would be mentioned or be such a dreaded factor, especially in this price segment and that region, country ?!? Please dont tell me that a dealer of a brand such as Gryphon in N. America, that sells, delivers and installs product model of the calibre as the Apex (or not to mention two monos Apex) wont have something like an automated- battery powered stair climbing truck thing (or whatever are those actually called) ?!? Seriously ??? Yes, there are models compact enough to manouver through stairs and doors and still have more than enough capacity for the task. Its an essential tool for any retailer, installer etc. Any good moving company of higher status in Europe would have something similar, as well as lifts, cranes etc. Come on now, guys! Originally from SouthEast Europe and I thought we are the backwards ones and technically chalenged or something along those lines. Oh well... The average customer - audiophile of Gryphon or anything similar that Im acquainted with, especially at the system combo echalon of the Apex, could afford to buy the device or rent the best additional service even if its just for the installation of the set up, just to avoid any possible hustle. Maybe its just me, maybe I know the exceptions and the unusuall ones but than again all the owners of serious hifi gear of that level I onow, have rooms with ceeling heights of more than 3m , plus a solid construction as in absolute majority of European homes. Whether is the seriously spacios and old but fully refurbished and isolated apartments or houses in the central/eastern part or south east where Im from originally, and ofcourse in the Pyrenean peninsula no doubt. But as I said, maybe I hang out with the odd bunch. Yes, ofcourse Rune knows this too well, but he is kind and profesional and goes along. Anyways...Cheers and happy and healthy listening ! p.s Does anyone here had a chamce to liste to (or maybe owns) a pair of Apex monos with a Commander, running Raidho TD 6 or 4.8 ? I mean propperly set up as it should, in a large room, acoustically treated, ac done as it should, dedicated 20amp lines with audiophile grade inwall cables, fuses etc.(not with old and dilapidated one like mr Framer until not too long ago, and lets not to mention the basement with magical acoustics) ofcourse all components fully burned in ! Oh and source such as the top of the line from dCS, Esoteric, Goldmund or Wadax. Really curious about the synergy in real world aplication cause Im not a huge fan of going around dealerships ( hardly would anyone have exactly those ) out of numerous reasons of my own. Cheers and thank you in advance for the possible info .
What Bill Parcells said about players on his team applies to audio as well. A components greatest ability is availability. Or in this case, reliability.
I'm not really interested in your channel as you seem to find the gear more important than the music. I presumed this would have been interesting talking to Rune, but no. Zero questions asked about the design & the internals, why things were chosen, nothing. Plenty of moments with you going on & on... Is part 2 the redemption...?
@jaysaudiolab There's no need to be puerile. Why no technical questions? I have a similar system so presumed this would offer insights especially when you are lucky enough to have Rune in your home, affording you the opportunity to delve deep into this amplifier.
If you want more content like this, all you have to do is like and subscribe and I’ll do the rest !
Deal!

Bello.💎💎💎💎💎💎
This amplifier cannot be stolen :) You need the whole team. This is definitely important
A guy selling Levinson 33's told me: "They come with their own security system."

.. really enjoying the Rune Skov - Gryphon Audio interview !
Jay it's great to hear that the US Market is opening up well for Gryphon! Now Boulder has to Up their Game!💪

I liked his personal history; short and to the point.
After a little research found out founder of Gryphon Audio was the producer of Metallica's Ride the lightning and Master of Puppets!
Sorry mate. It is not the same person. But they do share the same name and they are both from Denmark… wouldn’t it have been a wonderful fairytale ❤
Part 2 eagerly waiting
I wonder what the failure rate is on Gryphon? Better yet, would be to have local service centres be able to work of the gear if need be.
One way to solve the "weight" issue is to make a "monoblock" version..... At least it would take fewer people to carry and place them.
My first thought was: why not mono-blocks? Particularly when you see two power cords.

Wow .. Very nice to see such a wonderful guest =)
Jay, 4 guys with two nylon slings 6" wide by 6 ft. long can walk the Apex anywhere you want it.
A lot like Carrying the Arc of the Covenant! Only it's not Gold Plated! 😎
Jay..........really!!

Rune is an excellent ambassador for Gryphon! And his sence of style is flawless 👌
So very very very enjoyable!! Thank you J!
My pleasure
Great work guys. You're living my dream!
Thanks for watching!
Great job Jay! Well deserved smashed 👍 button.
Dude, you really need to try Audio Music amps.
Cat knows how to dress too lol!
Holy shit look at the size of it
I find myself resenting the cliffhanger. I'm guessing he was a professional driver or something like that.
Excellent interview! Very informative. Get Daryl Wilson next!
Maybe
Very good interview ! I like Gryphon and use it . But you bring it to your Lab ! I'm glad for You ! BR
Glad you enjoyed it!

Amazing! Business interview, nice to see it. Great rest of week Jay.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Gryphon Pendragon 😊
Great interview
you said you were done with Gryphon whats up
Old news. Stay current with my channel
But Jay, let's be honest. They didn't pay you, but you bought it for a better price than the average Joe. So indirectly, you were paid.

@@Kowinaida you can email them directly with your questions. They are very helpful.
@@jaysaudiolab OK, you seem to be missing the point. Let's leave it there.
@@jaysaudiolab i agree with kowinaida hope part 2 has more depth but i like you and your style just constructive criticism hope your able to listen x
Better you have to learn to setup your mics … the sound is terrible when your speaks. So much Ultra High End Gears and then such a poor Audioquality.
Send me a mic 😂
My VTLs sound way better than that boat anchor.
