- Akane-Banashi is an absolutely INSANE manga and will surely get an anime in the future. If you aren't reading Akane-Banashi, fix this immediately!
Music is all from Pyre's soundtrack.
Really nice seeing someone talking about Akane-Banashi, genuinely one of the best manga right now.
It's so good! The most recent arc was especially wonderful!
Agreed
Yeah, honestly an amazing manga. Akane is a fantastic protagonist - competent, confident, yet willing to be humble and learn when needed. It's also great to see a female MC who the artist isn't afraid to draw in a wide range of expression - she's not forced to be cute, in fact when she's performing she gets to pull the most outrageous faces, and it all adds to her charm. You can feel that she's this rambunctious girl with plenty of potential, hungry for success and genuinely in love with her art. She's got infectious passion.
That infectious passion is just so wonderful. I love it as well!
Agreed

Literally every character pops a domain expansion every time they tell a story and I pop every damn time. Neve been so excited to read old stories. Actually obsessed with the series
Agreed 💯
This video is really high quality, it makes me feel like this guy is an experienced youtuber and this is a secret channel lol. Literally the only thing that I would change us to make the ending less abrupt. Other than that, great video bro
Good read on the situation! I do have some experience though I've never made it big :)
@@PlainTalkNoBS honestly if you keep up this quality, I have no doubt you'll be successful. Good luck, I'm cheering for you :)
Agreed
@@haruhi_dayo I am in agreement with you.
The author of Akane Banashi pulling off a story about Rakugo something I never really thought about from Japanese culture and make it so thrilling and enthralling. From the battles and training arcs it has plus the mc is an awesome female character and every chapter to me leaves off on a cliffhanger is so good so much to look forward to in this series
It's a series that always leaves me wanting more. I can't wait for the next arc to begin tomorrow :)
I was sold during the first chapter explanation tbh. Especially because i could tell immediately that the art is fantastic lmao. Like it's hard for me to even finish the vid because I'm that sold.
You're really good at knowing how to sell a series! Good enough to make me curious what your previous videos were about, to which I immediately saw your first video is about one of my favorite current stories. Good taste, good content... you're going to pop off some time soon no doubt in my mind!
Thank you for the praise :) The quality is only going to keep going up from here!
Great video! It’s always nice to see someone giving Akane-banashi its much deserved flowers.
Thanks! :)
Can't believe we both released Akane-Banashi videos on the same day. Need more people to talk about this manga!
It's good that more people are getting the word out!
@@PlainTalkNoBS spread the word!
Insane work ethic bro! Another goated review out, I gotta check this one out too, Akane's journey into trying to be the best is what interests me the most
Thank you :) I'll keep the content coming! Akane's journey is so much fun!
I don't read more than one series at a time, so whenever I have finished one I am very careful in what I pick up next, and Akane-banashi has me absolutely hooked!
Why do you not have more subscribers? Your video quality is that of those with millions of subscribers! One subscription from me!
Thank you for the sub! The channel is less than three weeks old so that is definitely part of the reason for the lack of subs.
Akane Banashi is fantastic.. I cannot wait for the anime adaptation
The thing I love about Akane-Banashi is how the various Rakugo stories and methods used to tell said stories, help to better explore the characters who tell them, not unlike typical shonen battle manga that have powers fitting the characters. Hikaru uses a style that focuses solely on telling characters apart via voice, which makes perfect sense as she is a voice actress. One recently introduced character is a gambler, who decides which story to use based on dice rolls before he goes on. It actually feels like each character has their own unique "combat style" that you would expect in the usual battle manga... except their combat is storytelling.
Youre too underrated you gained a subscriber by the way ^_^
Thank you :)
It would be so interesting to watch if this manga gets an anime adaptation, but it could be difficult as it would for sure require voice actors who are actually really skilled in rakugo
Nice video man! Definitely gonna give this a read.
Thanks! I hope you enjoy Akane-Banashi as much as I do :)
Akane + Pyre?
You are a man of good taste.
Great video you really sold me on this story. It goes straight to the next read after I finish DanDaDan
Great choice reading DanDaDan :) Another solid manga!
Truly the only rakugo media I have enjoyed.
Cool video I'll be sure to check out this series
I hope you enjoy it!
I dropped it around 10-20 chapters in when it was coming out. I might restart and pick it back up again.
I'd give a second go, especially if you dropped it around there. Chapter 16 is when the story starts to pick up a faster pace as the series enters a new arc.
the art style looks nice
It's incredibly beautiful, especially the Rakugo artwork and the color pages.
Keep up the good work
I will! :)
Like akane is so good
This looks promising
It's pretty amazing :)
oh man, brilliant artwork and such compelling setup & story telling, it's just the subject matter is so not my cup of tea, such a shame. Great video though, was so convincing it gave me real friction! Between wanting to read and not being at all interested in this art form. Though ironically, there was an anime about this art form and I quite enjoyed it. But done well in anime form, I think takes this to the next level, just cuz you can fuse so much emotion into the portrayal of the on stage stories (of us non-consumers of this art form)
Sounds like you should keep your eyes out for when Akane-Banashi gets an anime ;) That might be a few years down the line but I would expect it to someday get one.
What’s the difference between Rakugo and Standup comedy?
At risk of oversimplifying: Rakugo is performing traditional stories (often humorous) while seated on a cushion. There are other constraints as well. Standup comedy is focused on modern, original material and the comedian has a lot more freedom in terms of movement and props.
@@PlainTalkNoBS oh ok, thanks that was useful!!
Akane -banashi is a good manga and rakugo is very funny to see a while back on NHK tv they nad a show about rakugo and it was funny i was craking up watching it 😂
That's awesome!
0:05 I do not in fact recignize those exact panels... because I haven't read that far yet. Spoiler alert.
I read this a bit
Glad you gave it a try!
I've been reading this manga and just have not been enjoying it. How it is written is very much tell don't show, they tell you her performance was amazing but only show like 2 panels of her making a face. Later they tell you that she is overbearing to the audience but they never show it they just tell you "oh they didn't laugh much" and then explain after the fact that she is not taking into account the old people in the audience. I like the art and I kind of like the characters but I haven't been enjoying it much.
It's not that good. The later chapters treat MC as a basic device for rakugo exposition. It's too obvious compared to similar works like Oshi no Ko and Act-age.
BORING
To each their own!
