I’ve used the CPAC mask for 7yrs. And tried many mask. I finally found one but I could use it due to my installation of a defibrillator for my heart. Now the mask all converted to magnets. This effects my defibrillator. The only mask I could get is a full face mask but I was allergic to the mask. Now I have to use mole sink to help with my allergic

2nd month using a CPAP and that No.#6 CPAP Hose Holder was definitely a game changer. I rigged up a similar gadget for myself last night and man, was it nice NOT to be fooling with that damn hose throughout the night and gave me a little more freedom. Yes, also ordered the hose cover and the mask cover too. Thanks for the info and keep up the great work.

Been on a cpap full face mask for over 20 years and I'm 77 now. Always a problem with leaking and lots of noise. After watching one of these shows and how to adjust air pressure, went from 15 to 12 and what a major improvement! No leaks, no strange noises, and sleep much more steadily now! I'm so grateful for what I found on one of these cpap sights!❤❤?

Bravo to you for sticking it out that long with that problem!! A pressure change made the difference for me, too. I would have quit before I endured those leak sounds night after night. I'm happy you have the improved sleep and a solution.

Thank you for your your video. I just ordered the tube holder! I feel like I am a cpap lone ranger. I was diagnosed with severe mixed sleep apnea and got my machine August 1. I was given a number to call if I had a problem. I endured it because I knew it took time to get used to it so I kept on going, ramp pressure was 4 for half an hour and then 20. My whole face shook all night and I barely slept. A week later I got an email from Res med saying that I was having too many events and I needed to call my clinician to adjust the pressure. I called the number I was given and they said to call my doctor. I called my doctor and she said she didn't know anything about adjusting the pressure. They finally adjusted the pressure but the numbers stayed in the moderate range. Finally, I bought a Bleep nose mask and immediately my events went into the normal or nearly normal range. I feel better than I have felt in years! I am supposed to get a call from a sleep doctor soon and I am glad. I hope they don't mind I am using a Bleep mask.

For me, the c pap for many years has been a joke When I use it and obtain 70%. I'm dead on my feet. I'm exhausted. This happens once a year to get my medical card for driving during that time. I find just the opposite of Every day Tired. Daytime naps, no energy, just all around miserable in life. The next 11 months go back to normal, little to no use with C. Pap, and I'm fine. No being tired in the afternoon. Energy level returns.. Now i've never been a person to get more than 3 -4 hours of sleep per night. Been that way for the last 40 years.
I'm glad others find a benefit in this I. Wish I could in the last 7 or 8. Years

So much to “contend” with! Yes, contend. Reading the electronic monitor, how the round dial works, it was too quick a demonstration for me to see. I spent time with it on my own, I think I can call up the previous night’s readout. The straps? That have to be adjusted every time I change the position of my head? I understand why you have to be lying down when you put the mask on-the contact between the bed pillow and the heavy head upon it pushes the mask away from the head just a bit. I found that as my body relaxes as it prepares to sleep, my chin drops. So now I’m watching for that to happen and trying to get my straps to align with that position. But again if I move my head just a little bit, that leakage noise happens. I give it the old college try two or three times a session, and then I give up and remove the mask. I see the readout later, the happy face meaning good seal. It sure takes a lot to get the good seal. Including a red inflamed face when morning is finally arrived. So far there’s no reason to like this gd machine, in fact, I hate it, but I’ll continue to try to get my mask on without leaks. Yes, new user, though I’ve been issued bipap three times previously thru the years, had used for only a matter of months before rejecting it. Onward.

@@CherylHanks-eo4bk . . . i think we all live in the world we create for ourselves in our mind? i mean, the machine isn't ruining sleep... jst the opposite. Apnea ruins sleep and can wreak-havoc (i don't evn kno what that means) on our overall health, especially if u consider the effects of high blood pressure spikes caused by apnea. AGRRR! i'am a passionate believer in self-hypnosis and the placebo effect. a positive outlook can go a looong way to help us adapt. the CPAP machine (lov it or hate it) may be saving ur life. i wish u well.

    I’m pleased with my surgery.
But honestly I’ve never tried CPAP. I got the surgery before CPAP became popular.
It cost me $500 back then. Done by Dr Blokmanis. A Canadian. Said he invented the procedure.
I’m sure he’s retired by now. Or deceased.
I had sleep apnea so bad my wife would stay up just to shake me when I quit breathing.
    30? Years ago. Still breathing.

Good for you!! I acclimated fairly well and am not a back sleeper. As I wrote below, I have had issues with too much pressure and leaks. Hopefully my new auto cpap will fix those. My neice and I shared a hotel room while I avoided my cpap. She got no sleep, recorded my snoring, and made me listen to all six distinctly different snores for over 20 minutes. My punishment for not using my CPAP.
She says I still snore as she'll share a room now that I "don't leave home without it" but it is not near as bad.

  • @cathywestholt5324

It is rare that I can get a good seal through the night with the nasal pillow mask. Even if I tighten up the straps tight enough to hurt my head it still has leaks. I actually get better sleep and rest without the CPAP because it wakes me up so often needing to be adjusted with the straps sliding around or being too tight, or the chin strap sliding off.
I got to a point for a while that I didn't want to use it. So often I fall asleep in my recliner. A few hours later I will wake up and go to bed. Half asleep I am too groggy to fill the tank. I started filling it when I got home so I could just slip it on when I got to bed. Now I have gone a step further. I bought a cart on wheels from Amazon. It's my CPAP cart. I roll it into the living room in the evening. I put it on if I start feeling a little tired. I can continue to watch TV. If I fall asleep, I'm good. When I wake up in the middle of the night, I just roll it into the bedroom and slip the mask back on.
Guess I am weird, but the more hours sleep I get, the more tired I am when I wake up and during the rest of the day. Oh, well.

    • @carolegoldstein4482
      @carolegoldstein4482 Рік тому +2

Wow! I have the identical problem with the nose mask. I just put a new one in from the package and the first couple of times I used the mask. I got a 20 out of 20 for the seal.
Maybe a few times of using the mask, it was 14 out of 20. I don't understand what happens.

Some nose mask's headgear stretch through the night, or it could be that the nights with bad seals are the same as the nights you sleep while moving a good bit. Is this possible? Sometimes a chin strap helps hold it all together better through the night. Thanks for watching and for joining as a member!

I havee been treated for about 3 decades. I was very fortunate and had a DME put me into a Puritan Bennett Adam mask. I have come to know that the PBA mask is no longer made. Do you know of a source of them? What is the nearest still made mask to that PBA mask?

I have mild sleep apnea and am back to using a cpap instead of a oral appliance. I have a nasal mask, yet I am a mouth sleeper and have to tape my mouth too. I have been having 2.5 AHI a night which is higher than it used to be. Also when I wake up, my eyes hurt, it's so distracting. I don't have any leaks. I just started having some headaches too. Never have i had headaches.

Yes. Or a chin strap. But full face will be best at least until you can retrain yourself to breathe only through the nose.

Possibly need more humidity. Try raising humidifier temp. If set on auto temp with climate line, try basic standard hose which will open a temp setting that you can adjust manually.
Nose reacts this way to dry air.

    • @affinityhm

Yes you should. But careful that its not leaking around the seal. Of course there should be some air leaking where the tiny holes are to allow CO2 escape, but no leaks elsewhere.
