I’ve used the CPAC mask for 7yrs. And tried many mask. I finally found one but I could use it due to my installation of a defibrillator for my heart. Now the mask all converted to magnets. This effects my defibrillator. The only mask I could get is a full face mask but I was allergic to the mask. Now I have to use mole sink to help with my allergic
2nd month using a CPAP and that No.#6 CPAP Hose Holder was definitely a game changer. I rigged up a similar gadget for myself last night and man, was it nice NOT to be fooling with that damn hose throughout the night and gave me a little more freedom. Yes, also ordered the hose cover and the mask cover too. Thanks for the info and keep up the great work.
Been on a cpap full face mask for over 20 years and I'm 77 now. Always a problem with leaking and lots of noise. After watching one of these shows and how to adjust air pressure, went from 15 to 12 and what a major improvement! No leaks, no strange noises, and sleep much more steadily now! I'm so grateful for what I found on one of these cpap sights!❤❤?
Bravo to you for sticking it out that long with that problem!! A pressure change made the difference for me, too. I would have quit before I endured those leak sounds night after night. I'm happy you have the improved sleep and a solution.
Why wouldn't you just request surgery? My cpap experience was a joke, I never slept a night through. And was charged for not using the machine. Over $300.00
2 weeks with my CPAP and still having challenges every night. Haven’t gotten one good nights sleep. Doing all the research I can get. I’m determined to finally get a full nights good sleep!
I love my cpap machine since the first night. I have a nose mask and don't bother me at all. Now, I don't nap anymore and am full of energy the whole day.
Began CPAP yesterday (ResMed 11) Your video is helpful, thanks! I woke up at 5:30 a.m., coughing and had a sore throat and pain in lower ears. Went back to sleep without nasal mask. I was spooked! Any insight or advice appreciated.
How was the leak? Did you feel air come out of your mouth? Mouth leaking can cause sore throat, dry mouth, respiratory arousals, and the worst consequence is compromising the therapy. Good luck!
@catallergiccat are you mouth breather??? Read the literature of CPAP I think you have to see an ENT doctor, who is also a Sleep Doctor at the same time.
Thank you for your your video. I just ordered the tube holder! I feel like I am a cpap lone ranger. I was diagnosed with severe mixed sleep apnea and got my machine August 1. I was given a number to call if I had a problem. I endured it because I knew it took time to get used to it so I kept on going, ramp pressure was 4 for half an hour and then 20. My whole face shook all night and I barely slept. A week later I got an email from Res med saying that I was having too many events and I needed to call my clinician to adjust the pressure. I called the number I was given and they said to call my doctor. I called my doctor and she said she didn't know anything about adjusting the pressure. They finally adjusted the pressure but the numbers stayed in the moderate range. Finally, I bought a Bleep nose mask and immediately my events went into the normal or nearly normal range. I feel better than I have felt in years! I am supposed to get a call from a sleep doctor soon and I am glad. I hope they don't mind I am using a Bleep mask.
You might be perfect for the academy course here affinityhm.com/products/1942505 and the doc will be thrilled about bleep since it’s helping. Kudos on your journey.
First night on CPAP, much appreciated advice watching your video. There are so many details that the instructions (in box) are missing. I will keep you posted!
The best thing I did was change my lung doctor the new one I got listen to me I had got covid in 2021 and I'm a lung haller that is a gift that just keep going and the sleep apnea machine is the best thing I can't believe how different when I I sleep with this.
Thank you and all the posters for their advice. I bought my cpap from a medical supply store and they don't give any help at all. They used to have a respiratory therapist but stopped the service when Medicare cut their funding.
For me, the c pap for many years has been a joke When I use it and obtain 70%. I'm dead on my feet. I'm exhausted. This happens once a year to get my medical card for driving during that time. I find just the opposite of Every day Tired. Daytime naps, no energy, just all around miserable in life. The next 11 months go back to normal, little to no use with C. Pap, and I'm fine. No being tired in the afternoon. Energy level returns.. Now i've never been a person to get more than 3 -4 hours of sleep per night. Been that way for the last 40 years. I'm glad others find a benefit in this I. Wish I could in the last 7 or 8. Years

So much to “contend” with! Yes, contend. Reading the electronic monitor, how the round dial works, it was too quick a demonstration for me to see. I spent time with it on my own, I think I can call up the previous night’s readout. The straps? That have to be adjusted every time I change the position of my head? I understand why you have to be lying down when you put the mask on-the contact between the bed pillow and the heavy head upon it pushes the mask away from the head just a bit. I found that as my body relaxes as it prepares to sleep, my chin drops. So now I’m watching for that to happen and trying to get my straps to align with that position. But again if I move my head just a little bit, that leakage noise happens. I give it the old college try two or three times a session, and then I give up and remove the mask. I see the readout later, the happy face meaning good seal. It sure takes a lot to get the good seal. Including a red inflamed face when morning is finally arrived. Sometimes if you lose weight sleep apnea goes away, but it depends on what kind of sleep apnea you have. It might be a forever thing. I’m a veteran CPAP user too. I wear shooters ear muffs because I can’t stand the noise the machine makes.
Having issues with nose drying out on the inside. Have heated tubing and have increased the humidity but it still continues. Have also tried coconut oil. Any other suggestions?
About to have my first CPAP night! I liked the tip about putting it on and watching a movie to get used to it. I am wearing it now and will watch Grimm for a while as I acclimate. Feels good so far. I also just ordered the CPAP Hose Holder. What a great idea! Also ordered some CPAP wipes. I am actually excited about my CPAP journey now after avoiding it for years. Thank you for the support.
Good for you!! I acclimated fairly well and am not a back sleeper. As I wrote below, I have had issues with too much pressure and leaks. Hopefully my new auto cpap will fix those. My neice and I shared a hotel room while I avoided my cpap. She got no sleep, recorded my snoring, and made me listen to all six distinctly different snores for over 20 minutes. My punishment for not using my CPAP. She says I still snore as she'll share a room now that I "don't leave home without it" but it is not near as bad. Best of luck!!
Thank you for the video We are currently in the hospital and my husband is on a cPAP for the first time. He is having a lot of trouble with the velcros, and it is frustrating watching him. How do you manage those velcros. Thank you From :Margaret
I have air coming out of the connection tubing in the back when I remove the tubing but when I replace the tubing no air is coming out the mask. When I remove the water chamber huge air is coming out until I replace it. Why when I turn the machine on I am not getti g air through the tubing. I had this machine for 8 years so I know what I'm doing help me please
It is rare that I can get a good seal through the night with the nasal pillow mask. Even if I tighten up the straps tight enough to hurt my head it still has leaks. I actually get better sleep and rest without the CPAP because it wakes me up so often needing to be adjusted with the straps sliding around or being too tight, or the chin strap sliding off. I got to a point for a while that I didn't want to use it. So often I fall asleep in my recliner. A few hours later I will wake up and go to bed. Half asleep I am too groggy to fill the tank. I started filling it when I got home so I could just slip it on when I got to bed. Now I have gone a step further. I bought a cart on wheels from Amazon. It's my CPAP cart. I roll it into the living room in the evening. I put it on if I start feeling a little tired. I can continue to watch TV. If I fall asleep, I'm good. When I wake up in the middle of the night, I just roll it into the bedroom and slip the mask back on. Guess I am weird, but the more hours sleep I get, the more tired I am when I wake up and during the rest of the day. Oh, well.
Wow! I have the identical problem with the nose mask. I just put a new one in from the package and the first couple of times I used the mask. I got a 20 out of 20 for the seal. Maybe a few times of using the mask, it was 14 out of 20. I don't understand what happens.
I just LOVE YOUR CPAP ON WHEELS IDEA!! I'm going to have to set something up like that myself, since I'm having a real problem disciplining myself on just simply going to bed and giving up my TV shows! Still trying to learn how to be a responsible grown up I guess.
Some nose mask's headgear stretch through the night, or it could be that the nights with bad seals are the same as the nights you sleep while moving a good bit. Is this possible? Sometimes a chin strap helps hold it all together better through the night. Thanks for watching and for joining as a member!
I havee been treated for about 3 decades. I was very fortunate and had a DME put me into a Puritan Bennett Adam mask. I have come to know that the PBA mask is no longer made. Do you know of a source of them? What is the nearest still made mask to that PBA mask?
I believe there is. A great way to find out is to join “CPAP for Beginners” on Facebook then post your question. You will likely get not only an answer but also a source.
Was on CPAP for 9 years and this year switched to APAP. I have always been tired during the day. With the new machine Resmed Airsense 11, I have such dry mouth with my lips stuck to my mouth, why?
Please checkout the resmed 11 oximeter add on capability. I have a Nonin 3230 Smart Pulse Oximeter, however when the ResMed 11 tries to pair, it fails to connect.
I have mild sleep apnea and am back to using a cpap instead of a oral appliance. I have a nasal mask, yet I am a mouth sleeper and have to tape my mouth too. I have been having 2.5 AHI a night which is higher than it used to be. Also when I wake up, my eyes hurt, it's so distracting. I don't have any leaks. I just started having some headaches too. Never have i had headaches.
I just got mine and I got the pillow one for my nose but I'm used to also sleeping with my mouth open so it's hard for me to even sleep at all because the air pushes through in my mouth it goes open should I get the full mask?
2nd week on trial cpap machine, full mask, back sleeper, nose is iritable ,have a silicon bandade not sure how to put them on and if they will cause leakage
Possibly need more humidity. Try raising humidifier temp. If set on auto temp with climate line, try basic standard hose which will open a temp setting that you can adjust manually. Nose reacts this way to dry air.
Does sleeping on a bed with anti snore position help or hinder with my bi-pap? I sleep on my back. Hard to sleep on side. So adjustable bed raised my chest and head up.
Yes you should. But careful that its not leaking around the seal. Of course there should be some air leaking where the tiny holes are to allow CO2 escape, but no leaks elsewhere.
Thank you I got the full face mask and I keep taking it off at night I feel very dishearten when I’m asleep my mind is my enemy and it takes my mask off without knowing.
Major irritation from my nasal mask on the naso folds / creases on the sides of my nose - I can’t go through life looking like this, lol. Will try a bandaid or tape or something to create a barrier.

So happy. Hope it helps, please let me know.
Hello, great information!! You said something about your score. Can I find that I the machine or is that info available from the doctor only?
If Resmed there is an app. Also look at leaks, AHI, and usage. These are the components of successful therapy. Hope this helps.
I cough a lot sometimes during therapy...like choking or waking up coughing. Why ?
Great video! Thanks so much!

Love the cart idea! Thanks for watching..hang in there!
Thank you 😊 🎉
You’re welcome 😊
Is there a liner for the hybrid F30i
I believe there is. A great way to find out is to join “CPAP for Beginners” on Facebook then post your question. You will likely get not only an answer but also a source.
I have tried pillow mask, I just got a N30i nasal mask which I can't get used to either one.
Can you use a YV SANITIZER for your cpap
Yes but only for mask and water reservoir.
How do I detach nasal cushion to replace it?
Depending on brand, most just pop right off.
just starting out
i am researching this for my wife
just want her to be healthy

New user pressure has be painful to my nasal passages but trying to calibrate device
Ky gel can be helpful at edge of nostrils when irritated by nasal pillows.
I hate my bi pap machine. My bi pap was worse. Been using these things for 15-20 years, have gotten nowhere.😢
My CPAP was worse then my BI PAP.

Get my CPAP next week.
Hello, is a nasal mask supposed to have air come out if the top of the hose l?
Please checkout the resmed 11 oximeter add on capability.
I have a Nonin 3230 Smart Pulse Oximeter, however when the ResMed 11 tries to pair, it fails to connect.
Have you contacted your dealer? Should be an easy fix.
Thanks for watching and the comment.
😊APPRECIATE YOUR HELP! 2:17
You’re welcome. Thanks.
Great video
Thank you! Hope it helps.
Get a hybrid full face mask...your a mouth breather
I just got mine and I got the pillow one for my nose but I'm used to also sleeping with my mouth open so it's hard for me to even sleep at all because the air pushes through in my mouth it goes open should I get the full mask?
Yes. Or a chin strap. But full face will be best at least until you can retrain yourself to breathe only through the nose.
Practice while awake keeping your tongue up against the roof of your mouth and always breath through your nose
Thank you so much sir. It’s a helpful information!!😊Can use my machine without water?
Yes. Thanks for watching.

Hash tag tips😊
I can’t do a leak test at my prescribed pressure, because I can’t exhale against it and I’m basically suffocated.
I need tips thank u❤
You're so welcome!
Thank you Sir!
Most welcome!
2nd week on trial cpap machine, full mask, back sleeper, nose is iritable ,have a silicon bandade not sure how to put them on and if they will cause leakage
Great video. Wondering your thoughts on coap pillows with cutout
I got sick right after I started using it. It was only two days in
Yes
Sure wish there was a hack for getting the kinks out of the air hose!
I wonder if using a cpap hose lift would prevent kinks ? It may…
I use a full face mask, I wake up with a runny nose every morning once I take off the mask. Any help would help. Thank you.
Possibly need more humidity. Try raising humidifier temp. If set on auto temp with climate line, try basic standard hose which will open a temp setting that you can adjust manually.
Nose reacts this way to dry air.
@@affinityhm Thank you for getting back with me, I will try this.
Week 3 on my trial CPAP still struggling to wear a mask throughout the entire night :( the hose holder is a great idea
I found your video very helpful
Does sleeping on a bed with anti snore position help or hinder with my bi-pap?
I sleep on my back. Hard to sleep on side. So adjustable bed raised my chest and head up.
18:52 should I feel air coming in my nasal passage with my nasal pad head gear?
Yes you should. But careful that its not leaking around the seal. Of course there should be some air leaking where the tiny holes are to allow CO2 escape, but no leaks elsewhere.
Thank you I got the full face mask and I keep taking it off at night I feel very dishearten when I’m asleep my mind is my enemy and it takes my mask off without knowing.
You mentioned ..assess your symptoms & dreams…what did u mean by assess your dreams?..TIA
Dreams only happen in REM sleep. So, if your dreaming you are at least getting some REM sleep.
Major irritation from my nasal mask on the naso folds / creases on the sides of my nose - I can’t go through life looking like this, lol. Will try a bandaid or tape or something to create a barrier.
Mole skin tape is great. Any pharmacy. Cut to your desired shape and size.
